If Planned Parenthood collapses, so does the abortion industry, Part 1

Planned Parenthood abortion clinic industry coming collapse?Had Planned Parenthood gone under in 1986, the abortion industry would hardly have noticed. At the time Planned Parenthood was committing only 6.2% of all U.S. abortions.

That was then.

With a total of 342 abortion clinics at last count (174 surgical/168 medical), Planned Parenthood now owns 46% of the remaining 751 abortion clinics in the U.S.

Planned Parenthood’s biggest abortion surge has been in the field of medical (RU-486) abortions. Planned Parenthood operates 90% of all U.S. medical abortion clinics, according to AbortionDocs.org. Here’s a chart from STOPP.org:

Author: Black fathers in home are crucial to black progress

by Kelli … [B]lack political gains are not the panacea that the black left has claimed they would be. When you look at income, unemployment, poverty, incarceration rates and other metrics, wide black-white disparities persist notwithstanding the ever-growing number of black elected officials. The reality is that a black man in the home is much […]

Unprecedented: RNC boss man and bus load to attend March for Life

Reince Priebus

In a surprising but welcome move, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Preibus is, according to The Washington Times:

… delaying the start of the party’s annual winter meeting so he and other committee members can join the March for Life on the Mall….

Mr. Priebus, in his second term as elected chairman of the Republican National Committee, chose to delay the start of the four-day winter meeting of the GOP governing body, also scheduled in Washington, to allow himself and RNC members to attend the march. The delay is unprecedented for a major U.S. political party, several state Republican Party chairmen and other RNC members said in telephone interviews.

Mr. Priebus also decided that the RNC will charter a bus to and from the march for those among the RNC’s 168 members who wish to attend….

I’m, of course, pleased by this visible show of support by the RNC. It will certainly garner the March for Life much deserved attention that MSM usually avoids while demonstrating some respect for the pro-life issue at the Republican leadership level. That this is even news demonstrates the perceived lack thereof. Were Chairman Preibus’s counterpart, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, to announce she were attending an abortion fest sponsored by Planned Parenthood, the response would be, “But, of course.”

  • Five abortion clinics in the Pittsburgh area have closed since Pennsylvania passed new abortion clinic regulations. Four of the clinics voluntarily shut down, while Stephen Brigham’s American Women Services was closed by the state. Planned Parenthood, always playing the victim, is complaining about the extra business:

Two registered facilities remain in Pittsburgh, records show.

“There’s just no providers,” [Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania spokeswoman Rebecca] Cavanaugh said.

  • At Live Action News, Kristen Hatten reacts to a very disturbing Huffington Post article written by a man who says he is “not happy about” finding out his wife is expecting twin boys after they pursued IVF hoping for a (single) girl.

Gosnell: Planned Parenthood knew, they all knew

Steinberg said that when Gosnell was in practice, women would sometimes come to Planned Parenthood for services after first visiting Gosnell’s West Philadelphia clinic, and would complain to staff about the conditions there. “We would always encourage them to report it to the Department of Health,” Steinberg said…. ~ Philly.com, April 18, quoting Planned Parenthood […]

“Incredible acceleration… whole new level of attack… designed to gut Roe”

Even though in my post, “Pro-life March Madness: “Sweeping… hurtling… astonishing display,” I wrote about the vast array of pro-life legislation passing in the states, I was still struck when reading through my google alerts over the weekend just how much we are suddenly accomplishing, as if a log jam has been broken. Here is just a sampling of headlines from the past week. Click to enlarge…
