Sunday funnies
The axing of Rush Limbaugh as one of the investors purchasing the St. Louis Rams is certainly not funny. It has serious ramifications as another hypocritical but effective liberal attempt to marginalize conservatives for our beliefs. Wrote sports columnist David Moulton at Naples.com:
[I]t’s the hypocrisy that burns me. We’ve got players in this league who allegedly have killed people and others who have been accused of obstructing while others did the killing. We’ve got members of the media covering this league who have called the President of the United States “a fascist.”…
The Miami Dolphins new owner, Stephen Ross, may bring on board as a minority owner the singer Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas. Fergie has a solo song called London Bridge. In it the S word is used 2 dozen times, the F word is used a handful and the lyrics are at times sexually explicit. The song ends with Fergie saying …
Shi**in on the world. F*** you bit**es.
And Rush Limbaugh can’t be a small part of this league?

Added Jarrett Skorup at the Washington Examiner:
But maybe the NFL is right; maybe they just want to avoid people who make controversial statements.
Uh…except when they don’t.
Apparently, liberal talk show host Keith Olbermann isn’t too controversial for them: He does NBC’s Football Night in America. A guy not shy to controversy.
Oh, and what about the new partial-owner of the Miami Dolphins? That would be Stacy Ferguson, better known as “Fergie” of the Black Eyed Peas. She was voted in on Tuesday without a single peep of opposition. Controversy? Divisive? Try:“I have had lesbian experiences in the past. I won’t say how many men I’ve had sex with – but I am a very sexual person.”

Wrote Rush himself in an October 16 Wall Street Journal op ed:
Not to be outdone, Jesse Jackson, whose history includes anti-Semitic speech (in 1984 he referred to Jews as “Hymies” and to NYC as “Hymietown” in a Washington Post interview) chimed in. He found me unfit to be associated with the NFL. I was too divisive and worse. I was accused of once supporting slavery and having praised Martin Luther King Jr.’s murderer, James Earl Ray….
Numerous sportswriters, CNN, MSNBC, among others, falsely attributed to me statements I had never made. Their sources, as best I can tell, were Wikipedia and each other. But the Wikipedia post was based on a fabrication printed in a book that also lacked any citation to an actual source.
I never said I supported slavery and I never praised James Earl Ray. How sick would that be? Just as sick as those who would use such outrageous slanders against me or anyone else who never even thought such things….
[T]his spectacle is bigger than I am on several levels. There is a contempt in the news business, including the sportswriter community, for conservatives that reflects the blind hatred espoused by Messrs. Sharpton and Jackson. “Racism” is too often their sledgehammer. And it is being used to try to keep citizens who don’t share the left’s agenda from participating in the full array of opportunities this nation otherwise affords each of us. It was on display many years ago in an effort to smear Clarence Thomas with racist stereotypes and keep him off the Supreme Court. More recently, it was employed against patriotic citizens who attended town-hall meetings and tea-party protests.
These intimidation tactics are working and spreading, and they are a cancer on our society.
Yes, here’s some of that cancer, from liberal political cartoonists this week.

In spite of the far right’s efforts to distract, the issue is not “character” or “controversy”,it is Rush’s overt racism. Rush proves being a racist may make you hundreds of millions of dollars, but won’t get you any respect, outside of his far right wing racist “audience”.
Media Matters has catalogued dozens of racist statements by Rush, including several specifically pertaining to black athletes, including that the NFL “looks like a gang war between the Bloods and the Crips”.
The issue is very simple- in a sport where over 60% of the players are African American, you can’t have an owner who is a racist, and engages in race baiting on a regular basis.
Rush lacks education, is the product of several generations of racist segragationists, and makes millions by offending people. This makes him unsuitable as a team owner in the NFL.
The efforts of the far right to distract from Rush’s racism are comical. Neither Keith O nor “Fergie” are racist (take a loot at the Black Eyed Peas) and neither has made racist comments, or has sought an ownership position in the NFL.
The far right loves Racist Rush, because he is a racist. The rest of us, not so much.
Bystander,
Keep spreading the myths…. you’re doing a great job so far.
Where is the specific link to the “dozens of racist statements by Rush”?
Bill O’Reilly has done extensive research and has not found the reported remarks in audio or print.
Bystander,
Can you provide the source obtained by Media Matters for Rush’s quote, including the context surrounding the quote? I’m sure you realize by now that Media Matters is considered a highly partisan website, so if you want your claims to be taken seriously, I would suggest some respectable sources.
Also, you accuse Rush of engaging in race baiting, so I assume you are equally bothered by Olbermann’s race baiting and do not support his affiliation with the NFL.
Finally, if the right loves Rush because they are racist, does the left love Obama because of his ties to vocally anti-semitic individuals? I don’t think so; I’m just wondering if your logic applies across the aisle.
Bystander,
You’ve have to actually listen to Rush’s show before you can judge his words.
Bystander,
Please spare us your sanctamonious claptrap.. The person who runs the Democrat Party, George Soros, who I believe also put a bid in the NFL(correct me if I’m wrong)was a Nazi sympathizer who fingered Jews for Nazi occupiers. BTW, Nazis were not “right wing extremists” but left wing socialists who shared much of Obama’s political and social philosophy.
Then there’s the race hustlers, shakedown artists extraordinnaire, and Democrat Party darlings Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, who are treated with such deference by our state run media.
Jesse Jackson, who referred to New York as “Hymietown” and Jews as “Hymies” only owned up to making this comment when he couldn’t lie his way out of it, not that he didn’t try.
Also, check into the history of Al Sharpton. I’ll give you a hint, The Tawana Brawley Farce is only one example.
These guys gave their input on the NFL bid by Rush?? It would be laughable if it wasn’t so despicable and hypocritical.
Now let’s see, cartoons depicting Klan “uniforms” and black players relegated to the back of the bus? My my, it was the Democrats, determined to keep newly freed blacks in their “place” who founded the Klan as their terrorist arm and it was Democrats who instituted segregation in the south. The same Democrats who pay homage to George Soros, remember him, the guy who fingered Jews for the Nazis?
For your information BS, many of those so-called “racist quotes” by Rush were acknowledged by our state run media to be indeed without substantiation of any kind, i.e. downright lies. But our state run media never likes to confuse itself with facts so while acknowledging that maybe Rush didn’t say something, he thinks it!
Speaking of racism BS, do you have any issue with Warren Ballantine, a black talk show host, telling Juan Williams on Fox News to go back to the porch when Williams tried to help him get his facts straight concerning Rush? This is a racial slur and was taken as such by Williams.
If you are so “concerned” about racism BS, there are plenty of examples here for you to address and I hope you will do so. We would all enjoy reading your perspective on these.
Bystander 11:40am
Fergie, now that’s an outstanding example. The same Fergie who wet her pants on stage because she guzzled so much booze prior to a concert?
A real class act that one. Let’s give credit where its due. At least Rush hasn’t wet his pants in public! Bystander, you know for a fact she has never made racist comments….how??
I am spending no more money with the NFL, not going to games, not watching them, not buying NFL logo items. They’re cut off and I wrote to the Colts organization and at WSJ, concerning this.
There are a lot of other conservatives, who are not even Rush listeners who, tired of the racial bullying, are boycotting the NFL.
Join the boycotters if you want to put a stop to the slander and libel against conservative spokespeople, as well as the suppression of free speech.
The leftist democrats, having abandoned their overt segregationist policies, have embarked on their own perverted program of “eugenics” and “crime control” by having minority babies preferentially aborted, through strategic ad and clinic placement.
As, for bystander—- ho hum, another drone quoting the same lies and continuing to live out its life as a chronic loser.
If you want to listen to Rush’s greatest racist hits, they are catalogued on the Media Matters website, which has a section dedicated to Rush.
Bill O Reilley can’t find Rush’s racism? LOL.
An average 8 year old can find it on the MM site.
I don’t have to listen to Rush, because his obnoxious idiocies are posted on MM every day, if anyone wants to degrade themselves by listening.
Bystander,
Please, your perspective on the examples of racism I brought up in my 12:26PM post. Certainly someone as concerned about racism as yourself would have some thoughts to share with the rest of us unenlightened souls.
the way I see, God did Rush a favor. Who wants to be a part of the drug, sex and murder culture of the NFL anyway?
Sometimes you don’t get what you want cuz it ain’t good for your soul.
Bystander’s comments are exhibit “A” about what is wrong with our highly politicized discourse. Like most leftists BS does not stop to check the facts. It is sad, really, that someone would have to stoop so low to make their point, but what else do they have? Without facts to back up their point, they must use fabrications, falsehoods, and smear tactics.
Rush Limbaugh has more love of country and patriotism in his little finger than half of the main stream media. And maybe that is why he is being persecuted by the leftists. They do not understand what it is that makes America great. They loathe traditional values and are seeking to refashion the country in a secularist, European style socialism. Along comes Rush and others who dare to speak to the principles and values that make us a great nation, and so they have to demonize him with whatever weapons they have at their disposal–lies, smears, and hate.
For all those who think they know Rush by relying on the baloney you hear about him in your leftist rags, you may want to actually be open minded and listen to him for a few days. I know it is asking a lot but it would be good for your development to not depend on other’s lies in forming your own opinions.
Angel,
I was thinking of something similar myself! Who knows…maybe God thinks that Rush’s money & time can be spent better somewhere else. I’m so glad I trust God for things I have no control of in my life. I really don’t know how people can live without Him!
btw…if we could all just go back in time to listen to the lessons our parents told us when we were little. Two of them stand out here:
1. Life isn’t fair.
2. If someone is bullying you, ignore him. He’ll go find someone else to pick on. The more it bothers you, the more you energize him.
Bystander,
I was watching an interview the other day. It was a black man (can’t remember his name), but he said Rush Limbaugh was either his best friend, or one of his best friends.
My question to you is this: How can a “racist” have a black man as a friend? If you think the black man is lying, does that make you a racist as well for disagreeing with what the black man said?
the only other observation I have is that it’s increasingly cool to be “racist” against Christians, Christianity in any form and the Christian worldview.
Because of course, as we all know, Christians are bigots (especially when it comes to gays), have started most wars, and are just plain stupid. We should all just go home and shut up.

Pharmer,
With all due respect, don’t you think that if Rush was allowed to purchase the Rams the left/libs would do the exact same thing? The NFL is simply weighing their options as to what would be a bigger loss revenue-wise. The NFL’s revenues have suffered due to the economic crisis. They probably feel that they would lose more revenue if Rush was allowed to buy the team than if he wasn’t. It’s all about money.
I commend you on your stand, though. IMO, I don’t think that many die-hard fans will be able to do the same as you. Yes, there will be some, but it will fade in time. That’s what the NFL counts on.
While I personally don’t consider myself a fan of Rush Limbaugh (not by a LONG shot…), I’m sad that his belief in conservative politics disqualifies him.
I don’t know if he’s a racist, and I would understand why the bid would be removed if he were a racist, but until I know for sure (I’ve never listened to his radio show or anything), I’m going to have to be saddened that he isn’t allowed.

Trick or…….Trick?
A self portrait in hypocrisy!
hypocrisy : a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not; especially : the false assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion.
What is the difference between B.O. and God?
The lame scream media does not believe in God?

Nope,Marie. Lefties utterly lack discipline and cannot stop moving their hand to their mouth for a greater cause.
Also, liberals aren’t spending the big money on football. That’s a competitive sport. You know what lefties think of competition.
Yes, it’s too bad in this attention deficit culture that people can’t allocate their funds in such a way as to support their spoken beliefs.
I boycott the big pro-aborts also. Can’t boycott them all, but I sure do try. Why hand over my money to the people who wish ill for me and my kind?
This just in:
Unnamed sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity, have revealed, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL players union boss, DeMaurice Smith have agreed to approve a new minority partner in David Checketts investment group that is seeking to buy the St. Louis Rams.
The yet to be identified investor is said to be an ex-patriot american currently residing in Switzerland.
Roman Polanski has yet to comment on the rumor but is expected to hold a press conference announcing his participation in the Checkett consortium…. as soon as Polanksi is released from Swiss custody for drugging and sodomizing a 13 year old girl and then fleeing the USA to avoid imprisonment as part of plea agreement after he had confessed to the brutal crime.

Rush Limbaugh
————————————————————–
Rush is not often wrong, but he missed the mark here just a little bit.
The progressives are going after the ‘high value targets’ first.
The liberal fascists will get around to we peons after they have silenced the voices of opposition in the areas of public discourse that they do not yet control.
The liberal humanists consider crushing rank and file conservatives a just business.
Publicly pillaring people like Limbaugh is ‘personal’.
The socialistas take great satisfaction from destroying the ones who possess such great influence with so wide and audience and who are so effective at shining a spot light on the glaring hypocrisies of the left.
These are the same kind of people who were gleeful at just the prospect of seeing Jesus publicy humiliated and destroyed. Their only immediate regret was that Jesus died too quickly.
They wanted HIS mangled mutilated body on display as an example of what would be in store for any and all who dared to challenge their perceived entitlement to fame and power.
Rush is no Jesus. I know Jesus. Jesus is a friend of mine.
Rush Limbaugh is just a thorn in their collective asses. A bee in their bonnet who will not let them rest.

This is going to backfire on the NFL. This is pure politics.
I see no reason why Rush can’t be a part owner of an NFL team. His politics are probably not that different then many other owners (or players), just more well known. But, the NFL can make its own decisions, right or wrong.
This is just ONE reason our family follows soccer (the real football) and not the NFL.
I personally wouldn’t really mind so much if people were more honest with themselves and others about why they do not want to associate (through business or general support) with certain people. For example, I don’t watch Keith Olbermann’s show because I disagree with his opinions and because he trashes people that I support. I could pretend that I refuse to watch him merely because of his tone or offensiveness, but I enjoy Ann Coulter despite her tone and offensiveness, so it would be dishonest of me to use those excuses against Olbermann.
Regarding this situation with the NFL, it is pretty obvious that they are accepting of left-leaning controversial figures but do not wish to do business with right-leaning controversial figures. That’s fine, just say so. Of course they won’t, because they don’t want to lose right-wing supporters and participants. They’re trying to have their cake and eat it too by semantically tip-toeing around the truth. Unfortunately for them, the truth is glaringly obvious.
Whoops, sorry for the double post. Not sure how that happened.
I can’t stand Limbaugh or Olbermann. Idealogues of either the extreme right or left scare me. Anyway, the Rams vacuum bigtime.
“I was thinking of something similar myself! Who knows…maybe God thinks that Rush’s money & time can be spent better somewhere else”
NASCAR
BTW—LOVE the Rockewell painting!!!
I haven’t listened to Rush in years…primarily because he is more a Republican apologist than a true conservative, but I do remember back when his attempt to donate a substantial sum to the Pediatric AIDS foundation was rebuffed because his money was not welcome…..no little child, we have no treatment for you because we returned the nasty Limbaugh money so we would feel superior….
Sheesh.
Wow, hooves, that is despicable.
