(Prolifer)ations 7-30-10
by Susie Allen, host of the blog, Pro-Life in TN
- Culture Campaign heralds NJ ‘s Gov. Chris Christie’s veto of a bill that would have given a $7.5M grant for family planning to Planned Parenthood….
- Professor Michael J. New reviews Clarke Forsythe’s book on pro-life political incrementalism, entitled Politics for the Greatest Good. Forsyth (senior counsel at AUL), discusses the incrementalist efforts of both William Wilberforce and Abraham Lincoln which led to the abolition of slavery.
- Big Blue Wave discusses an Abortioneer’s dilemma about whether she should tell a woman the truth about the abortion pill and what it actually does, or allow the woman to continue to believe it simply “bring[s] on one’s period.” Commenters on the Abortioneers blog think it’s best to keep the woman in the dark. And they accuse PRCs of peddling misinformation?
- Life Training Institute shows readers how to refute the “don’t like abortion, don’t have one” argument featured in a recent Birmingham Atheism Examiner article.
- Wesley J. Smith objects to use of the term “murder” when discussing the killing of animals:
- The school year is upon us, and Mommy Life features some concerns regarding the National Education Association’s continued support for abortion. It makes you wonder if these teaching professionals even like children.
- Generations for Life gives us an update on their recent tour and applauds the knowledge and compassion of pro-life teens by including footage of an on-the-street exchange between a pro-life student and a pro-choice man. You can tell this student has been well-schooled in pro-life apologetics:
Murder is defined as the unlawful killing of a human being by another human being with malice aforethought…. Using the word ‘murder’ to describe the unlawful killing of animals is just another way to blur the crucial distinction between us and fauna.

Alex deserves an A for his patience with Mr. Know-it -All.
It’s a pity that I couldn’t make out 80% of that exchange due to the background noise.
I hate men like that sleaze ball in his pinstripe suit. That guy seemed like such a cocky jerk, do you think he really cares about women?
Men like that only want abortion to be legal so they can use women to satisfy their sexual lusts and then drop them off at the clinic if they get pregnant. Men like this want women to be sterile sex kittens, not mothers of their children. Cause kids are such a drain on the sex life, ya know?
What a gross jerk.
If the objection to murder is because it should be used when it is unlawful – and abortion is legal – then is the thought that it is inaccurate to use “abortion is murder” (according to that blogger?)
Does a person “own” his body. You can argue that a person is in possession of his body, but he does not carry a title to it.
Once you tip the stone toward ownership of one’s body, you begin slipping back to the days of slavery.
God love you, Alex! God bless you, Alex!
I am so very proud of you and your love and compassion and caring for women and their unborn babies! THANK YOU for being out there and standing for the truth! You make my heart sing.

Could you rephrase and simplify what you’re asking? Thanks!
Chris – I was just surprised to see that quote/opinion on a pro-life site.
If people object to saying eating meat is murder because, in part, murder is strictly defined as unlawful – then wouldn’t they object to saying abortion is murder?
Just odd in my mind.
“What a gross jerk”
Sydney, those were my thoughts about him exactly!
I figured him for a self-centered type who just ued women and supported abortion so he wouldn’t have to support any kids he accidentally produced. His use of the pro-abort talking points was so practiced and mechanical that I doubt any real consideration for women ever could have entered into his thinking.
Come to think of it, the very fact that he was so disturbed and disgusted by the pictures suggests that he has a reason for not wanting to be confronted with the truth. There may be at least one abortion in his background.

I did not hear Alex’s answer to The “Know it All” when he tried to equate a pregnant woman’s “right” to evict the unwanted fetus with the example of an owner of a building having the right to evict a tenant who was causing problems. Of course, the analogy doesn’t really work, because landlords don’t kill their problem tenants to get rid of them.
