Stanek weekend question: What message would you like to give Barack Obama on Father’s Day?

The Obama/Biden campaign is encouraging supporters to wish President Obama a Happy Father’s Day. What message would you like Obama to read?

Forgotten holiday?

There was a related tidbit by the Associated Press, in conjunction with Obama eating and (unpaid for) lunch with four winners of the “Lunch with Obama” on June 14:

Stanek weekend question: Should pro-lifers date/marry abortion proponents?

The Washington Examiner reported June 4 that pro-life Congressman Chris Smith recently reminisced about meeting his wife Marie:

Smith noted that even his wife is deeply involved in the anti-abortion movement, something that brought the two together at Trenton State. He said that when he helped create a pro-life caucus at the school, she joined in but rejected his requests for a date. So he made her treasurer of the group and eventually they became a couple.

‘I wore her down,” he joked, adding, “this movement is also a dating service.”

Stanek weekend question II: Do you agree with these “six things NOT to do to end abortion”?

This is a similar question on the topic of how to win the war against abortion to May 5’s, which analyzed the article, “Time to change pro-life tactics?”

Today we look at a May 25 post by pro-life blogger Jennie Stone, published at LifeNews.com, entitled, “Hey Pro-lifers: Six things NOT to do to end abortion.” Your thoughts? Read on…

Stanek weekend question I: Should children conceived posthumously get government benefits?

It’s a strange question, but in these days of technological procreation, it is happening. From the Washington Post, May 21:

The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that a man’s children who were conceived through artificial insemination after his death cannot get Social Security survivor benefits.

Stanek weekend question: Do you think abortion should be a central worship service topic?

The pro-life film 180, which includes a couple graphic pictures of aborted babies, is now being shown during mega-church worship services, according to HeartChanger.com. From a May 15 press release:

Some of the largest churches in America are equipping their members to stand up for life by presenting the award-winning movie called “180.” The powerful video, by evangelist and best-selling author Ray Comfort, uses a simple line of questioning to help eight pro-abortion individuals change their minds and become pro-life… in seconds – something that apologist Greg Koukl has called “the Colombo Tactic at its finest.”

Stanek weekend question: What do you think of Time’s “Are you Mom enough?” cover photo?

The current issue of Time magazine features model Jamie Grumet nursing her 3-year-old son. The photo has obviously caused a stir. The range of reactions were boiled down in this Associated Press article:

Stanek weekend question: Is it time to change pro-life tactics?

UPDATE 5/6, 6a: Dustin has emailed me a link to a clarification he wrote of his original post, here.

5/5, 11:53: Dustin Siggins, associate producer with The Laura Ingraham Show and co-author of a forthcoming book about the national debt, authored a piece that piqued my interest in CrisisMagazine.com on May 1, “Time to change pro-life tactics?”

I usually don’t post my opinion when asking weekend questions but frankly, Siggins’ op ed ticked me off, and I can’t contain myself.

Stanek weekend question: What’s your favorite labor and delivery story?

UPDATE 5p: Baby boy has arrived! 3:55p. 9#1oz, 20-1/2″.
