Stanek weekend question: What do you say to someone who wishes she had been aborted?

From rolereboot.com comes a piece written by a clearly depressed woman also suffering from feelings of low self-worth.

Here’s an excerpt from the sad article entitled, “I Wish My Mother Had Aborted Me”:

Stanek weekend question: What do you think of Romney’s choice of Ryan as running mate?

The waiting is over. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has chosen Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate, as excellent a pro-life candidate as could be. Read Ryan’s voting record on pro-life issues here. (NARAL’s assessment is also a fun read.)

In a nutshell, Ryan’s rating at NARAL was 0% in 2011, and his rating at National Right to Life was 100% in 2011.

Stanek weekend question: What is your birthday wish for President Obama?

Today marks President Barack Obama’s 51st birthday.

Pro-life graphics whiz Ryan Bomberger’s birthday wish is a bit abrupt: “Happy Birthday, Obama. Now Get Out.” (Patriot Super PAC will air Ryan’s latest video project carrying that theme starting this weekend in Florida..)

I’m sure other pro-lifers would like to congratulate President Obama for even having a birthday to celebrate, while so many others don’t…

Stanek weekend question: Should “Wailing Wall” be part of pro-life memorial?

Pro-lifers compare the pro-abortion view of preborn children as nonpersons to the pro-slavery view of blacks as nonpersons (well, 3/5).

We also call the modern genocide of preborn children a “holocaust,” comparing it to Hitler’s mass extermination of the Jews.

Understandably, the other side doesn’t like those comparisons.

But now comes word that the planned International Pro-Life Memorial & National Life Center in Wichita, Kansas, will include a Wailing Wall, “an exact replica of the Western Wall at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem,” according to the website.

Stanek weekend question: How do you want to be remembered?

Yesterday came the tragic news that young pro-lifer Andrew Moore, age 20, (not my son-in-law) of Concord, California, was struck and killed by a car while walking in Indiana as part of the Crossroads summer sojourn to raise awareness against abortion. Reported LifeNews.com:

At the time of his death, Moore, a Catholic, was reportedly praying the rosary.

Moore was participating in the Crossroads Walk Across America – five separate, simultaneous journeys of college students traversing the U.S. and Canada in defense of the unborn. A rising junior from Concord, California, Moore was part of the Central Walk, which began in San Francisco on May 19 and will conclude in Washington, D.C., on August 9.

Stanek weekend question: What to say to mother who photographed her abortion?

Son-in-law Andy Moore forwarded me a link to thisismyabortion.com.

A mother using the pseudonym “Jane” took secret photos with her cell phone of her aborted baby and posted them online.

Jane’s rationale:

Stanek weekend question: What are some takeways from the Obamacare decision?

I’m still distraught about the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Obamcare, but the fight to uphold the sanctity of human life must go on. The Bible is clear that God orchestrates the course of human events, including leaders of nations, good and bad. The Lord allowed this decision for His purpose, which is ultimately for our good, and we trust Him.

Curt Levey, President of the Committee for Justice and a constitutional law attorney, has written “Top ten takeaways from the Obamacare decision.” Here are the bullet points, although the full article at BigGovernment.com is well worth reading:

Stanek weekend question: Can pro-choice soldiers ever be called heroes?

Last weekend InManibusDei and NytFury got into a Twitter debate about whether members of the military who support abortion can ever be called heroes. A sample (I’ve undone the Twitter shorthand): InManibusDei: I commend and thank pro-abort soldiers for their service. But they aren’t heroes. NytFury: A soldier who is pro-choice will still value life […]
