Pro-life vid of day: Lila Rose talks SEXED scandal on Hannity

by Kelli

Last week, Live Action’s Lila Rose appeared on FOX’s Hannity to discuss the latest Planned Parenthood’s SEXED video in which an Indianapolis PP worker was caught on tape encouraging a teen to read 50 Shades of Grey, to access porn, and to read blogs on bondage to begin experimenting with sadomasochistic sex:

Supreme Court decision watch: MA buffer zone case

Supreme Court buffer zone abortion Massachusetts pro-life

UPDATE 6/16, 10:30a: All decisions for today have been released, and this one wasn’t included. We await Thursday.

6/16 10:04a: An important Supreme Court decision is anticipated, either in a few minutes or Thursday morning, on a case of significance to pro-life activists. Abortion proponents are also watching for this decision closely. So I’m giving you a heads-up and backdrop.

Buffer zone around abortion

At issue is a Massachusetts law that mandates a 35-foot buffer zone around abortion clinics, which pro-lifers cannot breach. Variations of this buffer zone law are popping up around the country, obviously to try to mitigate our contact with mothers about to abort their babies. This is about the First Amendment right of free speech. It is also about the Fourteenth Amendment right of equal protection, since these laws unfairly and unequally target pro-lifers, but not unions or civil rights protesters, etc.

Quoting SCOTUSblog.com, January 15, when oral arguments were heard:

Between the complete silence of Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr., on the issue on Wednesday and the very active commentary and questioning of Justice Elena Kagan seems to lie the fate of state laws that seek to protect abortion clinics, their patients, and their staffs.   It seemed apparent, in a new “buffer zone” case from Massachusetts, that the Chief Justice holds the key vote on how far such zones are likely to be restricted, but that Kagan may help provide some cover for a decisive ruling that mandated narrower zones.

The three dissenters from the Court’s last major ruling in favor of abortion clinic buffer zones left no doubt in the hearing on McCullen v. Coakley that they have not changed their minds, and it appeared more than likely that Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr., will join their opposition.  If the Chief Justice were also to become an ally, buffer zones that are not confined explicitly to stopping violence or actual physical obstruction may well be doomed altogether- on strict First Amendment principles.

That scenario would clearly nullify a 2007 law passed in Massachusetts that makes it illegal - with a few exceptions - for anyone to “knowingly enter or remain on a public sidewalk adjacent to a reproductive health facility, within a buffer zone that extends outward 35 feet of any entrance, exit or driveway.”

Your tax dollars at work: Planned Parenthood hosts “condom crafting”

Planned Parenthood condom crafting abortion

The occasion was the opening of a new commuter rail line in Minneapolis/St. Paul, for which Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota had been “waiting excitedly… for a long, long time.”

Planned Parenthood condom crafting partyThat’s because the new line has a stop near Planned Parenthood’s Vandalia abortion feeder clinic.

This past Saturday, June 14, the rail station hosted bands and activities “friendly for kids and fun for grown-ups,” wrote Planned Parenthood, acknowledging this was intended to be a G-rated event.

Planned Parenthood’s condom sense

But we already know Planned Parenthood has a demented view about what “kid friendly” means.

So, Planned Parenthood crafters erected a booth to celebrate with their warped version of festive balloons – condom animals maybe?

Planned Parenthood receives over $500 million a year of your tax dollars for “family planning” sexcapades such as this.

Also disturbing is the Metro apparently sells map ad sponsorships, so Planned Parenthood’s location is prominently displayed….

… and which someone – wonder who – has already defaced with craft pins connecting Planned Parenthood to the local pub. For what, to loosen women up to test the veracity of their contraception? Or so they know where to run after an irresponsible hook-up, to purchase mega-doses of artificial steroids to try to preempt pregnancy? (Which may or may not work but certainly won’t block STDs.)

Planned Parenthood Minnesota condom crafts

Actually, using pins to make condom crafts is appropriate for Planned Parenthood, since Consumer Reports ranked two of Planned Parenthood condoms dead last in testing.

Sen. Landrieu: Ok to abort if baby can’t “live outside hospital”

by Carder

LandrieuAlthough I personally believe that life begins at conception, I believe the last place the government needs to be is in the church, in the doctor’s office or in the bedroom. And so even people who advocate for less government intrusion, like Gov. Jindal, get themselves in the most personal decisions a family could ever make….

Some of the bills being passed around the country are just very intrusive to personal decisions and very harmful to women and girls, you know, to their physical health and life.

It’s a shame… 20 weeks is not the norm for being able to live outside of a hospital.

~ Louisiana Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu (hilariously referred to as a “three-term centrist lawmaker” with a “nuanced” position on abortion) criticizing Governor Bobby Jindal’s support of recent pro-life laws, Politico, June 12

Editor note: While supportive of (and very personally affected by) adoption, Landrieu has also been a strong advocate for abortion, with an abysmal 27% pro-life voting record.

Father’s Day Word: “I was happy to find some of your children living in truth as the Father commanded”

truth_in_loveGood will, mercy, and peace will be with us! They come from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, who in truth and love is the Father’s Son. I was very happy to find some of your children living in the truth as the Father has commanded us.

Stanek weekend vid: What does it mean to be a good dad?

by Hans Johnson

The subject of fatherhood can come up anywhere at any time. There appears to be a definite trend toward fathers being more actively involved in parenting, with 89% saying paternal leave is important to them.

Yet it can be quite a juggling act, so men can always use a bit of a pep talk. Many seek the thoughts and advice of their friends, but perhaps the best source of wisdom for us is our own fathers, as filmmaker Corbyn Tyson learned:

Stanek weekend question: With which leg of pro-life’s “3-legged stool” do you identify?

3 legged stool abortion pro-life(Be sure to take the poll at the bottom of this post!)

Abortion proponent Steph Herold has identified the “3-legged stool” of abortion:

But my investigation also solidified my belief that culture change efforts are imperative to the policy and health-care access work that our movement is doing.

Ignoring culture change to focus on policy and health care may garner some short-term wins, but leaves you without a long-term aspirational vision for change.

In other words, a movement that is built only on two legs - policy and health-care access - cannot stand. We need that third leg: culture change….

It’s difficult to imagine long-term policy gains without doing the hard work to change norms, beliefs, and behavior. We’ve seen first-hand that without culture change, no policy change will be long lasting. We have Roe v. Wade, yet that certainly hasn’t guaranteed the right to accessing an abortion in the United States.

Pro-life 3-legged stool to stop abortion

Pro-life advocates have the same 3-legged stool, 180 degrees opposite: overturn pro-abortion policy, drying up access to abortion clinics, and convert the culture of death to the culture of life.

I think viewing our fight to stop abortion in those terms helps one appreciate the complexity of the pro-life movement,  how all of our efforts are interrelated, and how all of our efforts are equally important.

When the overall battle is compartmentalized this way, which side do you think is winning?

Which leg of pro-life’s 3-legged stool do you most closely identify with, in terms of your passion and the type of pro-life work you do?
