Archbishop calls Planned Parenthood a modern-day Judas

2014-04-19_0608

We do come here to judge the unconscionable greed behind the doctors, nurses and supporters of Planned Parenthood, who, for 30 pieces of silver, offer a quick fix to such women, rather than helping than helping them find a real solution to their problems.

~ St. Paul and Minneapolis Archbishop John Nienstedt, at the annual Good Friday prayerful protest at Planned Parenthood in St. Paul.

Stanek weekend question: Thoughts on Sebelius as she rides off into the sunset?

Kathleen-SebeliusI was in Ireland when news broke last week that HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was resigning, but a reader wrote asking that I give you all an opportunity to talk about her.

Indeed, in the minds of pro-lifers, Kathleen Sebelius is a scandalous, abominable, corrupt abortion protector, going back to her days as governor of Kansas, and perhaps before that.

Now, as overseer of the Obamacare rollout, it seems just that her name will now and forever be tied to failure.

What are your thoughts of Sebelius, one of the highest ranking members of America’s abortion cartel?

  • Culture Campaign says Planned Parenthood is not happy about a new Arizona law allowing unannounced inspections of abortion facilities. (My hairdresser gets unannounced inspections and no one has ever died in her chair.) Why should the abortion industry be exempt? Josh Kredit, legal counsel of the Center for Arizona Policy remarked:

It was brought to our attention that every health-care institution in the state is subject to unannounced inspections by [ADHS] if they have reasonable cause to believe something is going on inside, except for abortion clinics. We’re almost saying we value the women that go into abortion clinics less than everyone else.

  • Down on the Pharm links to some comments made by former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who seems to feel his accomplishments have earned him a special place in the afterlife. Did he forgot about his promotion of prenatal homicide? What hubris. The Weekly Standard states:

Pointing to his work on gun safety, obesity and smoking cessation, he said with a grin: “I am telling you if there is a God, when I get to heaven I’m not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. It’s not even close.

  • Abolitionist Society of Oklahoma wonders why many of the people who stood with the Bundy family in Nevada against the government don’t also stand with preborn children:

I know that many of those who went to Nevada to support the Bundy family are Christians and consider themselves to be pro-life. Some may even speak out against the practice of human abortion from time to time, but action is taken on this and not on the legal murdering of human beings created in the image and likeness of the living and true God? Apparently child sacrifice just isn’t “enough”.

  • At Coming Home, Dr. Gerard Nadal compares the case of a woman who allowed her dog to die via dehydration and starvation with the case of Terri Schiavo:

The outrage in all of this isn’t that Gammon was punished for her crime against Roxy, it’s that the deaths of the Terri Schiavo’s among us aren’t considered criminal at all. It is that our legislators and judges do not “behave as any normal person would have,” protecting humans with the same ferocity as they would if the subject in consideration were a dog.The greatest tragedy of all is that humans have a long way to go before we enjoy equal dignity, equal standing with our pets in a court of law.

  • At Bound4Life, Ellie Saul says that while she is a coupon fanatic, abortion coupons are over the top. Some abortion mills offer Sunday abortion coupons and discounts, as well as coupons for Plan B. What’s next – bring a friend coupons, two for the price of one coupons, or Happy Hour coupons?

duggars

  • Big Blue Wave takes abortion proponent Amanda Marcotte to task for attempting to smear the Duggar family in an article that’s actually about someone the Duggars know. The headline, picture and the wording of the article initially lead you to believe that the subject of the article is the Duggar family, which is irresponsible journalism. It is interesting how, while Marcotte believes other people should stay out of women’s reproductive choices, she and her ilk (like the anti-bullying bully Dan Savage, who recently made hideous comments about one of the Duggar daughters) can’t seem to stop spewing hate about the Duggars’ reproductive choices.
  • Kansans for Life shares a letter to the editor of the Wichita Eagle which puts the newspaper and the abortion industry in their place. The letter, written by “an ordinary pro-life citizen”, states that despite the Eagle’s “gushing” over the 1,200 abortions performed by South Wind Women’s Center, “in only six weeks, just one Wichita pro-life center alone sees 1,200 women! And rather than offer death, it offers true ‘service.’”
  • American Life League’s Judie Brown never shies away from controversy, and in this article chastising surrogate parenting, she cuts right to the chase:
Recently, Christopher White wrote a commentary on the ethical problems associated with “surrogate parenthood for money.” He argued that paying for surrogate parenting is actually a form of human trafficking. His position is an interesting one, particularly because he presents his perspective in the context of many surrogate mothers who have later regretted their decision to carry someone else’s child….Pope Benedict warned against “the lure of the technology of artificial insemination” in which “scientism and the logic of profit seem to dominate the field of infertility and human procreation, to the point of limiting many other areas of research.”

Such technology denigrates God’s design and very frequently makes false promises to those who suffer because of infertility while never mentioning the perverted uses to which the technology is being put today.

Isn’t it long past time to proclaim that God’s plan never causes the kind of suffering and anguish man brings on himself when he attempts to ignore God? Some things will never be normal, but they can be—and are—exceedingly wrong.

White’s commentary even mentions a fertility program that caters to homosexuals but doesn’t mention their specialty – perhaps wanting to avoid controversy. Brown notes that has many issues with advanced technology have gotten out of control. The liberal media has jumped on the bandwagon of the “new families” that advanced technology can create, but Brown lauds the view of the Catholic Church and the wisdom of their teaching about the sinfulness of IVF and surrogate parenting. Hard messages are not always well received.

BREAKING: PA gov to investigate Planned Parenthood abortion clinic for compromising inspections

breakingThis is exciting news… and so fast!

Excerpt from a LifeNews.com story today by Micaiah Bilger:

Documents from an abortion center in Allentown have prompted state officials to investigate whether the center may be dodging unannounced state inspections.

A Planned Parenthood in Allentown allegedly rescheduled abortion procedures after finding out when the Pennsylvania Department of Health planned to inspect the facility, according to documents released to blogger Jill Stanek. The allegations that Planned Parenthood has inside information about inspections prompted speedy action by the Governor.

“Pro-life Governor Tom Corbett’s office is now looking into allegations that abortion giant Planned Parenthood may be getting preferential treatment when it comes to abortion center inspections,” said Maria Gallagher, legislative director of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation, an affiliate of National Right to Life. “We commend the Governor for taking swift action to ensure the integrity of the inspection process.  The health and safety of women across the Commonwealth are at stake.”

Continuing reading about this awesome development at LifeNews.com.

Even if the DOH inspection was pre-announced, Planned Parenthood still compromised it by changing its schedule and adding staff.

Gospel videos of the day: Jesus paid it all

images-e1364640193360by LauraLoo

In commemoration of the greatest event in human history, we celebrate the victory of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, for defeating Satan and saving all sinners who turn to and trust in Jesus’ finished work at the cross for full forgiveness of sins.

And, being God, Jesus defeated death and rose from the dead – becoming the forerunner for all His children who likewise someday will also rise from the dead and be with Him for all eternity!

How might Chelsea Clinton’s pregnancy affect Hillary’s campaign?

chelsea-hillary-clinton-594by Kelli

On the one hand, the armchair thinking goes, having a grandchild may make the Iowa State Fair a less appealing place to spend the summer of 2015. Why beg donors for money at dozens of events a month when there’s a happy baby to spend time with in New York?

On the other hand, a grandchild could also heighten the pull of history for [Hillary] Clinton – the sense that she owes it to the daughters of future generations to walk the rest of the path toward becoming the most powerful woman in history….

Besides, in the vernacular of cable television, becoming a grandmother can only “humanize” Clinton, who has long been critiqued for her aloof demeanor and rigid personal discipline.

The Republican strategist Michael Goldfarb suggested the timing of the pregnancy was fortuitous for that reason, tweeting: “Just in time for HRC to have a baby on stage with her when she announces she’s running, right?”

The timing would seem to work out that way.

On Chelsea Clinton’s Facebook page, throngs of admirers noted the same hypothetical timeline. “I am sure your Mom will love having a grandchild running around the White House with her!” one wrote. Another imagined: “The first grandchild to be raised in the White house! Hillary giving the baby a bottle while giving a press conference. How wonderful!”

Still another posted a photo of an infant in a “Ready for Hillary” shirt.

PA Planned Parenthood reschedules abortions to dodge inspectors

health inspection of abortion clinicsAn informant from the Planned Parenthood Keystone affiliate in Pennsylvania has slipped me some fascinating new documents.

Recall Pennsylvania is the home of infanticide abortionist Kermit Gosnell, convicted  in May 2013 of first degree murder in the deaths of three babies and involuntary manslaughter of a patient.

In reality, Gosnell likely “snipped” the spinal cords of hundreds if not thousands of babies he aborted alive over three decades but was never caught. The state simply stopped inspecting abortion clinics “for political reasons,” according to the Gosnell Grand Jury Report. Gosnell’s heinous crimes were only discovered by accident when the FBI raided his clinic for writing illegal drug prescriptions.

Republican Gov. Tom Corbett began righting the wrongs by firing negligent state workers and enacting annual state inspections and surprise random inspections.

So, either an annual state inspection was scheduled at the Planned Parenthood Allentown abortion clinic for Friday, March 21, or someone on the inside gave PP a heads up about an unannounced inspection, but here’s the memo PP distributed to staff:

abortions inspection sheet for various abortion clinics and medical centers

Allentown seemed to clearly reschedule abortion appointments to avoid the scrutiny of Department of Health inspectors. As my informant noted, “If the DOH gave a heads up about inspections to restaurants like it does to abortion clinics, wouldn’t they all pass?”

Indeed, another document provided by my informant showed that the day before the March 21 DOH inspection the Allentown PP was coincidentally crawling with additional staff. Click to enlarge:

encouragement for abortion staff

Interestingly, it appears the Allentown PP is closed on Fridays, so why had abortions been scheduled that day to begin with?

My informant responded with another bit of interesting news: “The abortion centers always show as closed on abortion days. They never list themselves as open so that pro-lifers won’t show up.”

I checked, and this is true, at least among all the PP Keystone abortion clinics. The closed day for each one (Allentown, Harrisburg, Reading, Warminster, York)  is a day elsewhere listed as “by appointment only.”

Pennsylvania pro-lifers take note. These supposed closed days are actually busy baby killing days. From the second document (click to enlarge):

scheduling abortions around

Abortionist Jennifer Coles normally commits abortions for PP in Maryland. Wasn’t she wonderful to sacrifice herself? She turned around and sacrificed 24 children in one day for a minimum charge by PP of $450 each, giving PP a $10,800+ day.

I also note that while Planned Parenthood screams at the suggestion of even a 24-hour delay by laws requiring waiting periods before abortions, it was a-ok offering aborting mothers the option of waiting a week.

Gov. Corbett, there are obviously still gaping holes in Pennsylvania’s post-Gosnell inspection system.

(Not so) pro-life vid of day: Comedian Tosh mocks abortion, pro-lifers

by Hans Johnson

Alleged comedian Daniel Tosh did a take-off of a commercial that showed a couple arriving at a clinic for an abortion. (His sister-in-law is the CEO of the Orlando Planned Parenthood.) The over-the-top depiction of demonstrators was seriously undercut by the couple’s cavalier attitude:
