Police officers oppose converting former abortion clinic into police station
Police officers in Rockford, Illinois, are balking at the suggestion that a police station inhabit the building where a notorious abortion clinic was once located. Per WIFR.com, September 12:
Some Rockford Police officers are refusing to work in one of the buildings city leaders are considering using as a police station. The city wants the old Turner School on Broadway to be the new District Two headquarters.
“A number of people have an objection to the Turner School building because of what it represents and they have some serious moral objections to being in that building,” PBPA Union President Terry Peterson, said….
“That was definitely an issue that came up and it came up overwhelmingly,” Peterson said.
Peterson says he’s heard from more than a dozen officers who say they won’t work in that building because it used to be an abortion clinic.
“You know that’s ridiculous, it’s for the community. You’ve got to do what’s good for the area,” Bobby Dahlberg, owner of Bobby’s on Broadway, said….
“This police station is a win-win situation, you know. Jesus Christ himself can forgive anything right, so let’s go forward, not backwards,” Dahlberg said….
The abortion clinic under consideration isn’t just any abortion clinic. It’s the infamous Northern Illinois Women’s Center, where the former owner once hung a rubber chicken by a noose in one window (photo above right), and a rubber chicken on a cross and blasphemous signs in others (photo right).
Deathscorts were known to cheer and do a happy dance when mothers drove in for abortions, and several times owner Wayne Webster put horse manure next to the public sidewalk to dissuade pro-life protesters and once traipsed around outside in a devil costume…
After being closed in September 2011 by the Illinois Department of Public Health for health violations, Webster voluntarily shut down in January 2012 after 40 years of killing children… 40 years….
The building has stood vacant since then.
I am of the belief that all abortion mills are satanic and inhabited by demons. Even when they’re closed and converted for good… even when “every nook and cranny of the place” has been exorcised… I don’t know… I still have trouble. That’s just me.
That said, there are demonic abortion clinics, and there are demonic abortion clinics on steroids. Three I recall making me want to jump out of my skin when I visited them were Gosnell’s clinic in Philadelphia, LeRoy Carhart’s clinic in Nebraska, and this one.
I’m with the police. No way would I work in that place. And what of citizens who would also be forced to go there? Not just Christians and pro-lifers but others, as prolifecorner.com pointed out:
It is unjust to expect people who live in the Broadway neighborhood to go to a building for help where their own children may have been brutally and viciously killed in by abortion.
It is cruel and unusual punishment to force people who may be arrested to be taken and held in a building that may have been used to kill their own children.
Kevin Rilott of Rockford Pro-Life Initiative told me his group was contacted by both the police department and an alderman asking if they would object to the old abortion mill being purchased by the city. Initially the group said no, but when hearing of opposition by officers they changed their position. Here is their statement:
When the Rockford abortion mill was open not only did they celebrate the deaths of babies in the womb as a victory over God, they also mocked African Americans, put up signs ridiculing people with HIV, and spent years attacking Christians with brutally profane language both over their loud speakers and with signs in the windows.
Many Rockford police officers heard and saw this on a weekly basis. Can anyone blame them for not wanting to reward the owner of that building by having the city purchase it? No officer or citizen should be forced to enter a build where 100,000 children were murdered. No one should have to work in a place that publicly celebrated the pain, suffering and death they inflicted on babies and mothers.
A building that may once have been useful, and a historic landmark even, has been ruined by abortion. The blood of thousands of murdered children will forever cry out.

Oh look its the haunted house. Jill you must be mistaken. No all joking aside I cant blame them. I think these places ought to be demolished. Just as Castros house was. Knock down the building and turn it into a pro life park or memorial for dead babies.
It’s just a building. I think it would be good to put it to a good use. I read once about a crisis pregnancy center that actually opened up in an old abortion clinic, a triumph of life over death. I don’t believe in demons.
Sarah…thats a good idea.
Former Ohio abortionist M Ruddoccks building is sitting empty. Weeds are growing to the second floor windows. These places dont creep me out like they do some. Turn it into a PCC. Houses near me like Castros could have been sold but too much evil went on there.
Some evil buildings can be rehabilitated to wholesome use, and others can be razed and property re-developed. A third alternative is to preserve the place as memorial, like Auschwitz. All options have advantages.
I say that the decision belongs to the community who endured the evil and must live with the aftermath. If even the police are unwilling to outfit the building to a better purpose — three full years since the shut-down — then it probably cannot rehabilitated. It must evoke some awful memories in the community.
As an old Wisconsin boy, I can remember Ed Gein’s place. He was the inspiration for “Silence of the Lambs.” As I recall, the people of Plainfield made the decision as to the disposition of Gein’s house.

One the things they did to shut that place down was to have Catholic priests at all four corners of the place to do an exorcism of place. Just get them back in there to finish what they started, using lots of holy water/blessed salt, and a nice blessing to finish the job.
Unless the place is about to fall over then just tear it down.
It’s a building. There are no such things as ghosts or demons. It’s not exactly comforting to know that there are police who dwell on the non-factual.
You can’t believe in God and not believe in demons. Of course they’re real! The devil’s greatest triumph is to convince humans that he doesn’t exist. All that aside, this is a place of death. Hundreds of thousands of lives were taken in this building. You wouldn’t build an office on a cemetery, or a major battlefield, or on the site of the gas chambers at Auschwitz, neither should you open a common place of business at this site.
Reality I cant convince you to believe in God. Satan doesnt want you to either. Life is but a vapor. Have you ever noticed flashing back through your life? I can remember my father bringing home a candy bar for me every day after work. Then I can flash forward to his funeral in 96. Then I can flash forward to getting married and looking at how those years went by quick. Then I flash to my husbands funeral and my new marriage. I will be 45 this month. The rest of life will go the same way. I may grow old. I may not. But eternity is forever. infinity!! You arent coming back here. You arent gettinng another chance. This is your life. You have free will but there IS an afterlife. I cant wait to see my loved ones again. Satan doesnt want you to believe in God. Hes the father of lies. Idk what will happen to your soul but eternity would be a mighty long time to spend somewhere where there is non stop torment. People screaming and burning it the hottest fire. No more free will. No TV no blogging. And you cant pray someone in hell out. Also no time. Ik you will lol but I hope you change and rethink things.
Another non-believer here. Secular Pro-Life did a piece a while back about abortion facilities being converted into other, pro-community uses, and I generally think it’s a good thing. http://blog.secularprolife.org/2014/07/peacetime-use.html
HOWEVER: The one factor that convinces me otherwise for this building is the concern that post-abortive parents who aborted there would be forced to return in order to access essential public services. Pro-life Corner is right; that’s too much to ask.
If it was going to be converted into something else I’d be all for it. But like others have said–how can you expect mothers whose children were killed there to go there for help from the police? I’ve heard of women who drive miles out of their way so they don’t have to drive past the clinic where they killed their children.
What if a woman is in an abusive situation and needs to go to the police station for a restraining order or something but it is located in the building where her abuser forced her to abort their child? I just don’t think thats right.
Anyone else remember the story of the abortion clinic housed in a former church/synagogue? When they went to exorcise the building a rush of wind flung the door open as the demons fled the place?
I don’t know how anyone can only believe in flesh and blood and not think there is a spiritual aspect to human beings and to our universe. I know there are people who don’t believe in spiritual things but it just seems that folks who think that way seriously have their eyes seriously squeezed shut. But I wouldn’t accuse Reality of really LOOKING at things to begin with.
I say level the place.
“I am of the belief that all abortion mills are satanic and inhabited by demons. Even when they’re closed and converted for good… even when “every nook and cranny of the place” has been exorcised… I don’t know… I still have trouble. That’s just me.”
Jill, you sound like a Catholic. Remember, this place closed down two months after this happened… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NeeVOLHGAJ8

No Cranky, she sounds like a CHRISTIAN. Is there a Christian denomination that doesn’t believe in demons? It isn’t something only Catholics believe in. Ephesians 6:12
Hi Sydney ….since its been brought up i will share. My pastor/friend has been doing PL work most of his life. Preterm is an abortion clinic thats been opened since 73. One day my pastor had a chat with a former security guard who had worked there. He swore that at night the vacant elevators would go up and down by themselves. He took his behind out of there for good. Most ppl would dismiss that story as bunk but Ive seen and heard too much as a nurse not to believe. Patients dont have a reason to lie as far as I can see. Nurses share stories that could curl your toes.
Perhaps I should explain my not being creeped out….what I mean is indeed I do believe in demons but I always remember the church song ‘BE NOT AFRAID’ that was played at my dads funeral mass because it was my dads favorite song. Its followed by I GO BEFORE YOU ALWAYS. I am not afraid with the Lord.
Psalm 23 is my favorite and very comforting. I say it to myself or sing BE NOT AFRAID quietly to myself when I am abortion clinic protesting.
Sydney,
I’m talking specifically about exorcism. Catholic priests have been given authority to exorcise demons out of people and places. A protestant minister lacks the faculties to do so. Ironically non-Catholics desperate to clean their house of suspected demonic activity turn to the closest Catholic parish for help.
“Reality I cant convince you to believe in God. Satan doesnt want you to either” – ah, the good old convenience principle.
“You arent coming back here. You arent gettinng another chance. This is your life” – you are absolutely correct.
“You have free will but there IS an afterlife” – well no, there isn’t.
“I cant wait to see my loved ones again” – at least you’ll never know you are wrong.
Why the false assumption that women who had abortions there would be uncomfortable in going into it as a police station.
Say reality….let me tell you a story that another nurse shared with me and yet another that a pilot shared with me. A man was dying at our hospice. He sat up in bed and started trying to pull off his gown. He began screaming “Nooooo nooooo its hot…dont send me there God noooo”!!!! He was trrying to pull off his gown and kept screaming until he died right after that rant. I guess we will never know what happened. A pilot I knew told me a disturbing story. There was an elderly woman he knew in a nursing home. He told me she lived her life as a mean hate filled evil woman. She was on her death bed. She suddenly started screaming and pleading “I dont want to go there.” She then sat up and started speaking Latin. Funny thing….she had never ever spoken Latin ever before. She proceeded to plead with something “Please…no no no”! She died. Eh I know many will dismiss this but Ive met many dying patients with a story. Luckily mine were stories of peace prior to death. Ask Mary. I will bet she can tell you some stories.
And reality i dont give a flying flip if you choose to mock God. If youre right then I guess it will be like before being born. I wont remember anything so who cares? Oh but what if Im right? I will leave it at that. I choose to believe Im going to a better place than this.
“i dont give a flying flip if you choose to mock God” – you really don’t pay attention do you. I’ve already informed you that it is impossible for me to mock any god.
“I choose to believe Im going to a better place than this” – it makes more sense to try to make this a better place.
Good grief… – make it into a doughnut shop and you won’t be able to keep the cops away….
Doug roflol!!! Good one!!
