Stanek weekend question I: If a fetus has no right to life, how can a dad be charged with murder for attempted abortion?

A tragic story about a terrible man from thebraiser.com, October 18:

Yesterday, Joshua Woodward (pictured right), a former New York City restaurateur and partner of chef Govind Armstrong, was arraigned on charges of attempted murder after he secretly administered an abortion drug to his pregnant girlfriend, who soon miscarried their 13-week-old fetus.

Woodward, who opened Table 8 in the East Village with Armstrong back in 2008, pled not guilty, though he has a really bad case against him. As the NYDN recaps the 2009 case:

Stanek weekend question: Why doesn’t MSM notice Biden’s legion of flip flops on abortion?

The media and feminists like to accuse Mitt Romney of being a flip-flopper on abortion, simply because he converted from supporting abortion to opposing it.

They also like to point out Romney and his running mate, Paul Ryan, don’t even see eye to eye on the issue, since the former has a rape and incest exception and the latter doesn’t.

And then we move to the Barack Obama/Joe Biden ticket, which, on the issue of abortion, is actually all of the above on steroids. Yet we hear nary a peep from the press questioning the vast inconsistencies.

I gleaned all the following points from National Right to Life’s excellent piece, “Biden-Ryan Versus Obama on Abortion Policy.”

While Biden has never called himself pro-life, he was at one point considered so weak on the issue a Planned Parenthood official stated in 1986, “Joe Biden moans a lot and then usually votes against us.”

Stanek weekend question: What would your e-card about Obama say?

9/30, 8a: Here’s a good submission by reader David N.:

9/29, 7:13a: Per The Weekly Standard, September 28:

The Obama campaign has created a series of electronic greeting card aimed at women voters. “President Obama summed up the Republican Party’s approach to women’s health when he said ‘they want to take us back to the policies more suited to the 1950s than the 21st century,'” the Obama campaign website reads. “Send an eCard to say you won’t go back.”

Perhaps the oddest card in the series, though, is this one:

which my daughter was good enough to send to me…

Stanek weekend question: Can we discuss minority abortion genocide without being called racist?

Maya at Feministing wrote on September 20:

Wow. We’ve seen horribly racist anti-choice ads targeting African American and Latina women in recent years, but this might take the cake. Native American students at the University of New Mexico organized a protest after graphic anti-abortion posters popped up on campus that read “Abortion Extinction. Today, an Indian boy was killed the Indian way. Hey ya hey!”

Here’s news video…

Stanek weekend question: Liberal feminists are sluts and a____?

On September 6 Yahoo News reported on, “‘Sluts vote’: the unlikeliest DNC flair”:

A member of the Illinois delegation has sold out of a batch of pins she made that say “Sluts vote.”

The pins, which cost 2 for $5, reference radio host Rush Limbaugh’s attack on women’s activist Sandra Fluke (he called her a “slut” for advocating that insurance plans fully cover contraceptives). We spotted several delegates on Thursday sporting the pins….

I think ‘slut’ is offensive, that’s why we’re trying to own it and make it ours,” said Debra Shore, an Illinois delegate from Chicago.

Makes total sense. Ok, done. Democrat feminists can own the term “sluts.”

Stanek weekend question: Should Republicans engage on abortion or just let Democrats hang themselves?

It’s a strategy question.

Jonathan Last at The Weekly Standard has written a great piece, “The Party of Abortion,” beginning with:

The Democratic party underwent an ideological evolution in Charlotte last week. They are no longer a pro-choice party. They’re the party of abortion.

As if to prove his point, the pro-abortion group Feministing posted this tweet last night…

which linked to this gif (featuring drag queen RuPaul, btw)….

Stanek weekend question: Thoughts on oil painting depicting Obama’s anti-life agenda?

On August 31 artist Jon McNaughton debuted an “interactive painting he has created with 60 symbols that detail the ‘Obamanation’ of the Barack Obama Presidency,” according to Fox News.

One of the most fascinating aspects of the painting is you can scroll over it on McNaughton’s website for detailed explanations of all the symbols. Three depict Obama pushing his anti-life agenda. Click to enlarge…

Stanek wkend question: Is it fair to compare viability of space astronaut to that of preborn baby?

Astronaut and American hero Neil Armstrong passed away August 25 at the age of 82.

Andy Moore of AbortionWiki.com made an interesting point in the above graphic, adding in a Facebook post:
