  • Secular Pro-Life says using signs for sidewalk counseling in front of abortion facilities can be good… or it can be very bad, depending on the kind of signs being displayed.

  • Down on the Pharm says a pair of Austrian scientists is asking for more research to be done on the effects of hormonal birth control on the human brain:

Of particular interest are the social and behavioral effects of these hormones when used in younger patients whose brains are still undergoing major development and maturation….

Changes in brain development in younger BC users may be more profound, with some expected to be irreversible.

  • At Students for Life, Kristan Hawkins wonders what Michael Voris’ point was when he created an error-filled video which makes dubious claims about abortion and the pro-life movement. Hawkins says Voris is “irresponsible” and using “faulty logic” to claim “abortion numbers aren’t declining,” among other things. Hawkins backs up her rebuttal with links to the facts:

Not citing any sources, he proclaimed that chemical abortions aren’t tracked and comprise a quarter of all abortions. Therefore, he said, these must be added to the million+ abortions every year, which basically comes out to a number that shows abortions are not declining.

While Voris appears to make a convincing case in his six-minute video, he is wrong.

  • ProLife NZ says just as the word “abortion” is used less and less in favor of other terminology, the culture of death is now searching for a term to replace “suicide”:

[A] survey asks readers what they think of the following terms: self-deliverance, dying with dignity, rational suicide, humane self-chosen death and a freshly-minted euphemism, dignicide.”… However, after mulling over the proposed words, I must say that “dignicide” has some merit. This coinage means not death with dignity, but the death of dignity – which is exactly what assisted suicide is.

  • Pro-Life Action League says now, more than ever, we need to use the images of abortion victims in pro-life outreach:

Our opponents want the average person to think of abortion not just as something to be tolerated, but as something good. Needless to say, they definitely don’t want people to think about the unborn babies who are victimized by abortion. Indeed, they don’t want people to think abortion has any victims in the first place.Which is precisely why we must continue to show the pictures of abortion victims in the public square, for nothing elicits sympathy like pictures of the victims of injustice.

Stanek weekend question: What if pro-choice activists were to invade church “buffer zones”?

http://rudepundit.blogspot.com/2014/06/you-wanna-keep-harassing-women-at.htmlBe sure to take the poll at the bottom of this post!

In response to the Supreme Court’s reversal of Massachusetts’ abortion clinic buffer zone law this week, pro-choice blogger Dan Savage at TheStranger.com suggested following the lead of West Hollywood homosexual activists, who supposedly got a church to stop invading their space by turning the tables.

Savage quoted an obscenity-laden post by Rude Pundit with like-minded thoughts:

2014 pro-life summer boot camps for students

boot camp final

Following the tradition we started three years ago, we’re posting all the upcoming summer pro-life teen- and college-aged boot camps we found listed around the country. If we missed any, please let Kelli know.

As I’ve said before, if I had teens in the house  I’d not only send them to church camp every summer, I’d send them to at least one pro-life boot camp during their high school years. These provide a great opportunity to build strength and confidence in the sanctity of life and also launch lifelong pro-life friendships.

It’s great to see so many pro-life groups in so many states sponsoring these vital training programs for our young people.
