- Presidential candidate Herman Cain further clarifies his position on abortion during an interview with CBN’s David Brody:
Brody: Are you for some sort of pro-life amendment to the Constitution that in essence would trump Roe v. Wade?
Cain: Yes. Yes I feel that strongly about it. If we can get the necessary support and it comes to my desk I’ll sign it. That’s all I can do. I will sign it.
- Reuters provides a classic example of poor journalism in this piece by Katy Migiro. Is this an article or an editorial on the legality of abortion in Kenya? Where do those statistics on abortion deaths come from? Migiro doesn’t tell us, but a quick Google search indicates the source is this report from the pro-abortion Center for Reproductive Rights. The report’s methodology is extremely shaky. Basically, they think the reported statistics are too low, so they interview a bunch of abortion proponents and make a guess.
It’s almost as if Migiro went to pro-abortion groups and asked, “What would you like me to write for you?”
- Here’s how an ABC News station describes a child found dead on a porch:
The Philadelphia Coroner’s Office said on Monday that it was a fetus, not a fully-formed baby, that was found on a porch this weekend.
The fetus weighed less than two pounds, the coroner said, and would not have been from a viable birth….
The fetus, an African-American girl who still had her umbilical cord attached, was wrapped in a brown bath towel.
- An abortion protester is planning on running in the primary for Rep. Keith Ellison’s seat in Minnesota and using his campaign to display graphic images of abortion on television:
Gary Boisclair announced Monday morning he is running against Ellison in the DFL Primary – and he made his campaign platform very clear.
“The platform is life, liberty and justice under God,” said Boisclair. “Very simply, I am fighting to bring an end to legalized child killing. I will fight in this campaign to bring that to the forefront.” …
Local television stations, including FOX 9, would have no choice but to run the ads. FCC rules dictate that if the ad comes from a legally qualified and certified candidate for federal office, the TV station must run it uncensored.

It never ceases to amaze me that people think showing “graphic images of abortion on television” is crossing the line, but they never seem to wonder what kind of person would do such an awful thing to a baby in the first place. We are a sad, sorry society that places more value on our comfort zone than the life of an unborn child.

The ABC news story is pathetic and unbelievable. I’ve seen many, many babies who weighed less than two pounds, and I’ve got a news flash: they were indeed “fully-formed.” What politically-correct garbage. Heaven forbid they call a baby girl a baby girl. Gotta deny her the humanity she deserves by declaring her “just a fetus.”

Jeanna, hypocrisy of the pro-choice crowd acknowledged, but even pro-lifers such as myself don’t relish the fact of having disgusting ads, when our children might be watching television with us.
Doesn’t everyone get all kinds of upset when people have commercials with gay couples to fight for gay rights, yet think that something like this is appropriate?

Jack,
Please tell me why they are “disgusting.”
I thought seeing Qaddafi’s body everywhere was disgusting but there he was. All over the place.

Disgusting = torn apart little babies, it’s the saddest sickest thing I can think of.
My objection is that I hope the campaign will choose to put these commercials on later at night, hopefully the little ones are in bed.
I agree about Qaddafi’s body, I wouldn’t let my son watch the news with me because of stuff like that. I can’t predict commercials though, harder to keep them from my kids.

Ok. Here is why I don’t think they are disgusting. I am drawn to the ones of babies aborted at 10 weeks.(when I had my abortion)I look at them and know what my daughter went through. I grieve her short life and the horrifying way it ended.
There are late term abortion photos that are bloody and horrifying. I look closely and see…really see the child. Some have beautiful dark hair and perfect fingers. Some have delicate features and pouty lips. Perfect little noses. These are the only photos of these precious children and God uses them to shame the strong.

I do see what you mean, it is true that pro-lifers are likely going to be the only humans who ever care about and see the humanity of these children. The only chance they get to speak is to show the world what was done to them. I will try to look at it that way.

But I also do understand wanting to shield your little ones. I do.
I see the humanity of the child. I wish that their parents hadn’t forsaken them and I thank God He has them.
There are enough Crime Scene shows on at night that show dead bodies everywhere and that is what I see in an abortion photo. A crime scene. A murder. Called “choice.”

Carla, just wondering…why do you refer to your baby as a she? It’s funny…I miscarried a baby between my sons, and I always felt like she was a girl. Not sure why.

I asked God to impress upon my heart the sex of my child who died in my abortion. Girl named Aubrey. I miscarried. Boy named Jamie. I miscarried again. Boy named Lee.
Someday there will be quite the reunion in heaven!!
