Pro-life videos of the day: Democrats against God and Jerusalem before they were for them
September 4: When it was noticed Democrats had removed both “God” and “Jerusalem” from their platform, U.S. Senator Dick Durbin became defensive when called out on it by Fox News’ Brett Baier, claiming Baier was “carping on a trifle”…

September 4: Charles Krauthammer explained how the platform change was “extremely significant”…
September 5: Seeing a public relations nightmare from his house, President Obama reportedly instructed Democrats to return “God” and “Jerusalem” to the platform, resulting in one of the most embarrassing moments in Democrat Convention history: a chaotic vote, followed by a railroaded decision, followed by boo’s…

September 5: Quoting NewsBusters, “Hours later, DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz gave CNN an absolutely ridiculous explanation for what transpired resulting in her being mocked for her ‘alternate reality’ by numerous commentators including Anderson Cooper and John King…”

Hey Dems – how does it feel to be railroaded like you all did to the USA with ObamaCare?
Mentioning God is not “carping on a trifle…(WAIT!! This could be a new band name!!! But back to my original point….)”
How in the world do you affirm God again (after denying HIM) based on a POLL??????? Who DOES that???????????????????
Oh, wait. The party who thinks killing=liberation.
Not only did the Democratic platform mention “God” more than the Republicans in two past (not mentioned on Fox) but it presently contains a plank on the importance of faith based organizations. It mentions faith 11 times, religion 9 times, and church twice. It’s funny, the Christian right’s obsession about how this is a Christian nation makes us an anomaly in the civilized Western world. In the desire to make “God” (a late Bronze Age Middle Eastern construct) an integral part of our national narrative, we are very close to the theocracies in Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Funny…
And also funny is the fact that those carping about the “God” thing are those who have no compunction about ending the social safety network for those whom Jesus of Nazareth called “the least among us.”
OOOhm, I knew “Jerusalem” would rouse her out of the 6th circle! CC, the first social safety net must, by definition, include their right to be born, and if they survive their execution, protection from a dumpster.
Don’t try to lecture me on where my Christian duties lay. You’re an idiot.
we are very close to the theocracies in Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Except that we’re willing to acknowledge Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. That must sting for someone with such an affinity for Jews as CC has.
Oh, X. The IRONY.
Wow, Dick Durbin was practically hyperventilating, and it was HILARIOUS! Play defense much, Mr. Career Politician? The guy has literally been in politics since I was in grade school (I know, because he visited my class once). Must be a nice, cushy job.
The last video was pretty funny. Wasserman Schultz appears to be gaining a reputation as a BSer, even among liberal media.
CC, you are wrong. The sole reference to God in the democratic platform was used to refer to “God-given potential.” There is nothing about that that relates to a theocracy.
The US is not a Christian nation and the right does not refer to it as such. The majority of the people here are Christian and this is a country that is founded on Judeo-Christian values.
CC – in the OT, people gave a tithe of their increase to the Levites, who were thus sustained and had wealth to share with the needy; I guess this is your Biblical basis for having the govt gather a portion of our increase, then redistribute it as they see fit? Cuz this type of govt operated safety net operation is not in the NT, and was not directly commanded, advocated, or suggested by Jesus. He suggested we give to the needy on an individual basis, not a a form of organized govt activity.
A hat tip, a bow, and a snappy Reagan-style salute to Jill for her contribution to this post.
As Anderson Cooper said, they’re in an “alternate universe”. The Dems looked like hypnotized fools by the end of Clinton’s rambling last night. I’m buying stock in Kool-Aid ’cause their sales must be sky-rockting.
As for Dick Durbin – isn’t there a bright, young, pro-life Democrat who can take his place? Please Lord, help us!
Right. Israel’s tithe in a theocratic government was one thing; Christianity expanded beyond the bounds of theocracy to fit any society at all, adapting as necessary but therefore instancing mercy and care giving among the community, and from the community outwards.
Progressives who seek to justify state welfare by appealing to Jesus are, ironically, seeking to instance the old theocratic platform of the nation of Israel.
CC: “And also funny is the fact that those carping about the ‘God’ thing are those who have no compunction about ending the social safety network for those whom Jesus of Nazareth called ‘the least among us.'”
Not at all. Yours is the ethic if Ebenezer Scrooge. Pay taxes and let the government hitch people to the bureaucratic teat.
Some of the rest of us would prefer to bolster an economy so fewer will be on the dole you so fastidiously maintain. You just want people to keep doing high-dives into that safety net from an economy that’s constantly teetering.
LOL it is like the Jedi mind trick!!
Nothing to see.
Move along.
Spooky.
hippie,
The Dems learned from the best – Nancy Pelosi. Talk about spooky!
That was entertaining.
It seriously bugs me that Dick Durbin supposedly represents me. Ugh.
Well everyone, you may be concerned about God and Jerusalem in the Democrat platform, but it should certainly take a huge load off your shoulders to know that if Bill Clinton ever goes to Mars, he will know how to reproduce with and talk to Martians. Of the former I have no doubt, especially if those Martian ladies are some real babes.

eCClesiasstiCallyCorrupt,
Let me see which in worse in GOD’s judgement: publicly ‘dissin’ HIM and then correcting the PR mistake without any accompanying change of ‘heart’
or
Just paying HIM lip service to affect a ‘form of godliness’, but lacking any measureable fruit of your own to validate your public posturing.
Then there is the item of all those dead babies who’s blood cries out for HIS justice.
Looks like the cosmic scales of justice are pretty much lop sided against the democRATs.
Buy hey, lets toss that same sex marriage thing in and see if the scales balance out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2REaJObR-ZQ
Whoops, the scales of justice just turned into a catapult into the lake….
[bonus photo of the obamateurs new democRAT powered hybrid vehicle]
There’s a reason Jesus said he would put the goats on the ‘left’.
Michigan Rep. Bart Stupak… is on the board of Democrats for Life.
Thanks for the warning and whats the name of the other ‘democRAT for life’?
Hi Mary,
Matthews is a loony adolescent who never grew up. I can’t make out the word he says around the 15-16 second mark. Is it “abortions”?
“Seeing a public relations nightmare from his house, the obamateur reportedly instructed democRATs to return “God” and “Jerusalem” to the platform, resulting in one of the most embarrassing moments in DemocRAT Convention history: a chaotic vote, followed by a railroaded decision, followed by boo’s”…
This a perfect example of a screwup of kama sutric proportions which should now and forevermore be referred to by a new aphorism: a ‘phluckup’ in ‘dis-honor’ of one sandra phluck [her pronunciation].
‘the obamateur insists that the democRAT platform reflect ‘HIS’ view, the majority of the delegates to the democRAT conundrum be damned.
Unfortunately for all americans, especially pre-natal americans, b o takes the same view of the United States Constitution.
So the Nation of Israel and the GOD of Israel gets thrown under the democRAT bus, which is driven roughshod, backwards and forwards, over them mutiple times [like that scorned and spurned Houston wife did to her whoring husband] before ‘the obamateur’ picks up the phone and steps in and rescues GOD.
What ‘chutzpah’!
What wiil the obamateur do for an encore?
Vanguish allah [pbuh] in a game of one on one basketball?
[I have been in some conventions where the ‘chair’ made some obviously wrong calls on which side prevailed in a voice vote and then refused to poll the delegates, but it wasn’t a vote on GOD or HIS ‘chosen ones’ …televised internationally.]
The DNC so far has been TRULY beautiful. Inspirational, informative, and a reminder of such strong Christian values as “love thy neighbor” and “judge not lest you be judged”.
I’m fired up, ready to go!! :)
i call for the question and ask the chair to poll the commenters:
Be it here determined by a vote of those in attendance that inCapaCitated has surpassed herself in the realm of the arcane and inane.
All in favor vote ‘likes’.
Those opposed can do your own ballot one handed with your other left hand.
Sandra Fluke spoke in prime time at the DNC. What further proof do we need that the Democratic Party is a party of anti-God extremists who revel in immorality and condemn the just?
If Democrats win in November, it’s either because no one is paying attention or because we have become a nation dominated by people of ill will.
Just viewed the video of ‘the vote’.
The chair had obviously been instructed which way this voice vote was gonna go.
Only problem was the delegates did not hear the same ‘dog whistle’.
If at first you don’t succeed….try again…two more times…then just declare victory.
But what got me to laughing was the chair becomimg a cheerleader for the yea’s.
[Maybe Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri could have pulled it off. Go Spartans!]
“The chair had obviously been instructed which way this voice vote was gonna go.”
Good catch, Ken. Megan Kelly on Fox News this morning had a photo of him and his teleprompter, which clearly said, “In the opinion of the, chair two-thirds of the vote is affirmative.” And, after the first vote, before he became dumbfounded by the response of the no vote, he started to say, “In the opinion of the chair. . .” as it was on the prompter and then in disbelief called for another vote.
No doubt he was told to bring that home no matter what. Villaragosa gives a whole new meaning to parliamentary procedure.
So the Dems denied God three times, just as Judas denied Christ. Need I say what role Bill Clinton played?
“we are very close to the theocracies in Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Yeah, practically the same country! So you should feel equally comfortable spouting your nonsense in Iran. Why don’t you do that. Let me know how it works out.
I’ve actually started to seriously think about not voting this election.
Listen at 2:25 through 2:30 in the last video. The explanation for Ms. Wasserman’s locks is revealed once and for all. Whew ! Glad THAT finally got cleared up !
(And all this time I just thought she had a little shpilkis in her ginektagazoink.)
Ex-GOP, why not vote for Obama? He’s on a roll. Watch tonight and then decide.
“I’ve actually started to seriously think about not voting this election.”
I take it you’ve been watching a lot of coverage of the Democratic convention.
Hal – Economically speaking, I think the Dems are the stronger party, hands down. Again, that’s my opinion.
I feel the right has been hijacked by a tea party and the republicans have moved to positions that simply would damage the country.
The left though has gone too far left though. I liked working to decrease abortion given the fact that will be legal a long time, if not forever. Now though, that talk has gone away and the left has gotten militant a bit like the right has gotten militant.
Uh, is it just me or did 4 horsemen just gallop through??
Trivia alert
Debbie says she is the first Jewish woman representative elected from Florida, which while true, kinda means like really nothing because a Jewish man was elected senator from Florida in 1845. So, it is a pretty trivial thing for her to bring up. Obviously Florida has been pretty friendly to Jews for a very long time.
“The first Jew elected to the U.S. Senate was Florida Democrat David Levy Yulee. Yulee was first elected in 1845 and served until 1851 and then served another term from 1855 to 1861. He was the son of Moses Elias Levy, a Moroccan Jew who made his fortune in timber in the Caribbean, then bought 50,000 acres of land near Jacksonville, hoping to create a New Jerusalem for Jewish settlers. Levy County and the city of Yulee are named after this family. Yulee supported slavery and secession.”

“I feel the right has been hijacked by a tea party and the republicans have moved to positions that simply would damage the country.”
Okay, plausible, but so vague as to mean nothing really.
I thought the tea party really only has one issue, the national debt. Isn’t that the case?
The republicans and democrats will both increase the debt with very high spending, although each party has different preferences as to what they want to spend on,
Hippie – the tea party isn’t just one group with one set of ideas…but I feel they’ve helped push the GOP into some positions I just can’t support – deficit reduction only with spending costs and no tax increases, anti regulation of almost any kind, voter id bills, anti health care reform…I feel like they are saying “hey, 2008/2009 didn’t go so well, but let’s try it again – trust us, it will work better this time!”.
”He’s [President Obama] on a roll.”
Yes, downhill…to the gutter.
CC, of course the Democratic platform will mention faith, religion , and church. But the Democratic doesn’t practice what it preaches. I am not saying the GOP is perfect, but I do really need to say that because the MSM does an excellent job of covering the failings of the GOP. However, the Democratic party is often given a pass, and many Catholic and Christians are deceived by the false pious rhetoric of the Democratic party.
I hope my fellow Catholics and Christians realize that the far-left Democrats in the Democratic party use pious rhetoric in order to deceive and devour the faithful. Voters for the Democratic party should never forget that the Democratic party is a political party and that they take advantage of the faithful’s good intentions in order to get more votes.
EG: “hey, 2008/2009 didn’t go so well, but let’s try it again – trust us, it will work better this time!”
Um . . . the proper referent for their influence was 2010. And it worked splendidly. Bear in mind they were reputed by the media to be utterly inconsequential. After the primaries and the general, of course, the media pretended they’d known it all along. LOL
Hal, I’ve asked you before — if you’re convinced Obama will win, put down $100 on ‘im.
Where’s your confidence?
Tyler – I fixed the last paragraph for you-
“I hope my fellow Catholics and Christians realize that the far-left polarized Democrats parties in the Democratic party use pious rhetoric in order to deceive and devour the faithful. Voters for the Democratic either party should never forget that both the Democratic and Republican party is a are political party parties and that they take advantage of the faithful’s good intentions in order to get more votes.
Rasqual/Hal -
Hal -if you are a betting man (I’m not in general), take the bet. The best site out there, 538, has Obama at a 77% chance right now. If the August job numbers top 100K, I think it is looking pretty good for Obama. Romney hasn’t found a message yet and hasn’t found a groove…really reminding me of John Kerry at this point.
Ex-GOP says September 6, 2012 at 8:41 pm “I’ve actually started to seriously think about not voting this election.”
kenthebirther likes that…..a lot!
KTB: Yeah, that’s why I figure EG is a false flag. The more obvious it becomes that Obama’s the worst choice, the more urgently such trolls act as if there’s no difference between the candidates.
Seriously. Watch if something really bad happens to Obama’s chances, and something really good happens for Romney in coming weeks. It will be at that precise point that EG says something like, “Y’know, both parties suck — I think I’m sitting this one out.” The opposite scenario, of course, would have ‘im cheering Obama. But in a Romney-positive scenario, he’d just call it a draw and stay home.
But not really. Because a false flag’s tiring work is to discourage others through twisted logic, straining credibility juuuuust enough to bring others to the brink of sitting out the election.
Seriously, EG, you’re a walking, talking poster child for how false flags behave.
I think one possible reason that the Democratic platform removed God and Jerusalem is because of other faith communities and not just secular fundamentalists. I would think the Muslims would want God changed to Allah, or at least have no mention of God. Muslim fundamentalists will use the Democratic party to achieve their own agenda. They see an opening – the secular fundamentalists and the Muslim fundamentalists both want to minimize Judeo-Christian references and values.
I am not saying all Muslims or secularists want this, just some, and especially the Muslims and secularists who support the Democratic party.
I should that I got this understanding that Muslim and secular fundamentalists don’t want God to be referenced in the Democratic platform from listening to Rev. Jesse Jackson when he was interviewed on Hannity.
I just can’t support – deficit reduction only with spending costs and no tax increases, anti regulation of almost any kind, voter id bills
Okay, voter id.
How about national id?
http://emptywheel.firedoglake.com/2010/04/30/dems-not-only-call-for-national-id-but-for-anti-democratic-national-id/
So if every single person had a national id card, then would it be okay?
The weird thing in all this is that democrats are fine with a national id card but not asking people to bring it to vote. Mean while republicans don’t want the national id card, but want people to have id to vote. I mean both parties have stupid positions on id’s.
rasqual – why do you run around all the time worrying about who I am and who I’m not? Drop the big words, stop sounding like prideful elitist, and start making actual arguments once in a while. It’s getting more than a bit lame to see you following me around on various threads, spouting off on what you claim to think that you know.
Get over it. I’ve explained my position before.
Get over it.
hippie
I can’t answer the question until I know what the problem is that we’re trying to solve. Makes no sense to brainstorm solutions without defining the problem.
So what’s the problem we’re trying to solve here?
rasqual,
makes sense. I wonder if he “happened” to move to WI around the time of the recall election and the protests in Madison? Was he bussed in, perhaps?
Since we can see November from here in Wisconsin, that does make a great case for your false flag hypothesis. They would go to where the action is, no?
Rasqual,
The brainwashed Democrat is really blind as a bat. Their party loyalty is fierce. People like Ex-RINO won’t come out and say it is greater than their loyalty to God but they just keep voting Democrat even if their party rejects God or supports killing children in the womb. And they can ‘rationalize’ throwing God under the bus by telling themselves that they are not responsible for what politicians do. Somebody should really do a case study on this.
Tyler, how many Muslims do you think there are in the US? Honest question, I hear a lot about people worried about Islamic influence in the US, and I honestly don’t get where they are coming from.
