Pro-life vid of day: “Pregnant man” to kids: “women also get pregnant”
by Kelli
“Pregnant man” Thomas Beatie, who is seeking a divorce from partner Nancy, introduced new girlfriend Amber to CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Anderson Live. Beatie also answered questions about how he would explain to his three children the circumstances of their birth:

She is not a ‘pregnant man’, nor ever was one. She is a woman who has had some surgery and/or other ‘work’ done. She has always been genetically female and I assume kept ovaries and a womb if she gave birth. I mean, if I tatoo whiskers and stripes on my body, it does not make me a tiger no matter how much I wish to be called a tiger or fantasize about being a tiger. She simply isn’t male, she is female, and, ergo, a woman.
You can’t change your DNA. If she were to need a heart transplant, they would give her one from a female (men’s hearts or bigger).
Why do we have to post so many stories on him? It’s all the same comments over and over.
We don’t post stories just to get comments but to inform. Thomas Beatie has explained to his children that “women get pregnant, too” when the truth is that ONLY women can get pregnant. People are attempting to redefine fertility, gender, sex, and now who can have babies. Apparently, Beatie’s attempt to redefine the natural order of things (that now “men” can have babies) is related to the pro-life issue, as we have posted about 11 articles on him.
However, that’s been in the past five years, so I don’t know that it counts as “so many.” Kim Kardashian likely has him beat on this site for number of posts. ;)
These threads just end up mean-spirited in my opinion
I also think that the ultra-focus on LGBT people is definitely straight people trying to not take responsibility for their role in abortion (you know, pretty much all abortions). Seems like people want the problem blamed on someone else, especially people that are already disliked.
Jack ~ Pretty sure they’ll stop posting about him/her when he/she stops evangelizing his/her message all over the media. No one is digging through anyone’s garbage to find dirt on this man/woman. It’s a response.
And, Jack, we “straight people” take plenty of responsibility for our role, or complacency, in abortion. I know you didn’t really mean that.
I disagree whole-heartedly with you Jack. Gender is not subject to revision period! Women get pregnant and women give birth. No amount of social-engineering will ever change that. Progressivism is a nasty endeavor precisely because it aims to change nature and the natural course of the human condition. Perhaps you wish to reside in a world in which biological differences are altered to the point of unrecognizable unisexual human being but to me it is a disservice to our species.
There is nothing mean-spirited about pointing out that this “man,” is and always will biologically be a WOMAN.
“And, Jack, we “straight people” take plenty of responsibility for our role, or complacency, in abortion. I know you didn’t really mean that. ”
I just find it ridiculous that such a large amount of time and space is devoted to such a small part of the population. Seems like people trying to pass the buck. “Well, us straight people are responsible for the vast, vast majority of abortions, but it’s really the fault of those gays!” At least the mods here are good people and would delete death threats and calls for imprisonment for LGBT people, places like Lifesitenews are not so Christian. They’ll even ban you for saying stuff like “I don’t think being transgender is a punishable crime”.
Thomas R you’re arguing against some point I’m not making. I’m not particularly interested in arguing over whether the world will end if I refer to this person as a dude.
I agree with Jack in that we see way too much of Beattie and her message- she constantly puts herself in the media. We also see way too much of people trying to redefine things, happens a lot here in CA with our wacky laws.
Redefining things hasn’t worked out too well in the area of abortion, so why would it work in other areas of human sexuality and reproduction?
At the end of the day, constructing word illusions like men can get pregnant or that fetuses aren’t human is deeply destructive to humanity, and especially to people who create or go along with such delusions. It’s a mental problem, and a very sad thing to see.
And I am not asking you to refer to HER as a dude either Jack, LOL. Your reference though, to be blunt, does not make HER so…
They just make me sad.
It is sad. She won’t be saying to her kids: “I’m your mom, and I love you very much!” More like, “I’m your…buddy!”
Two mothers adding up to none. One abdicating from her gender, one adoptive one whose tenuous attachment may be fading more as we speak.
I feel so sorry for this woman’s kids. So sorry.
It won’t let me cut and paste, but Jack I have have no idea what you’re talking about. How is this straight people trying to pass the buck for abortion or saying it’s all the fault of the gays? What Mary Ann said hits the nail on the head: At the end of the day constructing word illusions like men can get pregnant or that fetuses aren’t human are deeply destructive to humanity.” The lies this woman tells to the public and to her children are detrimental to the truth of human dignity. That’s the story and it needs to be told as long as this woman continues to receive publicity for her lies.
Excuse me, Jack, but this post isn’t about someone who’s gay, according to the traditional definition. It’s about a woman who decided to become a man (or “dude” if you will) and is now attempting to redefine who can get pregnant. THAT is a very big deal, and it’s a comment I don’t believe anyone should get away with. (If you listen closely, you can hear the reaction of the crowd to Beatie’s comment.)
It’s not about demonizing gay people.
If I feel like I am a man who is trapped in a woman’s body…
The problem is in my head, and not with my body.
Our society has a sickness: We expect the rest of reality to get in line with the notions in our heads. This leads to many bizarre conclusions, like
– If I don’t think the child is human enough, the rest of society must let me kill her.
– If I want to dress and mutilate my body to mimic the other gender, the rest of society must accommodate my delusion.
– If same-sex couples want to be “married,” the rest of society has to pretend like they are the same sort of thing as natural marriage.
– If natural married couples use contraception, they and the rest of society pretend like this is the same marital act as natural sex.
– If Kathleen Sebelius wants free contraception for Sandra Fluke, poor little Miss Sandy’s Catholic University has to pay for it.
