Quote of the Day 11-17-10
It’s kind of like blackmail. Don’t fight us or the babies will die after they look all cute….
We don’t defend only cute life that looks like us. We defend human life. From the beginning to the end.
~Matt Archbold, remarking on William Saletan’s suggestion that early abortions are better than late ones, National Catholic Register, November 16

Saletan’s column today had a couple of positive notes, but he reveals that he just doesn’t get it. Pro-choicers really do have a tough time trying to understand the pro-life position. Their brains are just not able to grasp the concept.
I volunteer at a nursing home. An old diabetic with dementia and anger issues isn’t the cutest human being in the world, but he deserves basic human decency. It doesn’t matter if he’s useful today or not. We take care of people because that’s the humane, cooperative, decent thing to do. If we only acted benevolent when it was convenient, or the best time, or served us and our goals, we’d never do anything for our fellow human beings! We are not loners, we are social mammals and we need to cooperate to live. Abortion makes humans less than human. It destroys all our potential, not just the individual lives it takes. Abortion degrades all of us. And it’s days are numbered.
No method of killing a baby is any “better” than any other method, so killing a 6 week pre-born baby is THE SAME as killing a 6 MONTH pre-born baby.
This guy’s “logic” is saying “shooting(an adult) is better than stabbing”.
Same result in both scenarios….a DEAD human being!
Exactly Ninek and Pamela. One of the best arguments for protecting life is the one (can’t remember the author’s name) in which he brings up in his book the “stages of development” issue. Do we value a 4 year old girl that has not hit puberty yet any less than a 21 year old girl that has reached full maturity?
Perhaps it is because they have killed off their intelligent members in the womb, but it would seem that the pro-death folks have run out of ideas and are now pursuing ridiculously dumb ones.
Good point(s), Bruce. :)
