Pro-life vid of the day: 41 years of Roe v. Wade
by LauraLoo
From the birth of Roe v. Wade in 1973, this video reflects on national decisions regarding abortion. It also shows how the pro-life movement has had victories along the way, affecting generations of women, babies and families:

This is sooooooooooo good.
In 2006 I filled out a declaration for Operation Outcry detailing how abortion had hurt me.
In 2007 my abortion story through Operation Outcry was filed as a friend of the court brief to uphold the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act.
In 2008 I became the WI State Leader for OO and began shooting my mouth off on Jill Stanek’s blog.
Good times. :)
Awesome. :)
Video is righteously awesome!

The one good thing about RoeVWade is that it happened in the winter, so the “celebrations” of it are often cancelled due to snow in many areas. (yes, I know they probably reschedule but then it doesn’t happen exactly on THEIR day, if you know what I mean)
This was lovely – especially the little darling little girls. Three generations of women now united — we can do it, we can end abortion!!
Del,
You are 4 hours from me. :(
I am over the river and through the woods.
Abortion will occur as long as women with unplanned pregnancies exist. Whether antichoice people like it or not. There will never be an end to abortion. Never.
Never say never Steven.
We offer help and hope, support and love. Not death.
There may come a time when abortion becomes unthinkable. How many practices in the past (e.g. slave ships and markets, cannibalism, human sacrifice) that were more or less common are now unthinkable? I realize it is not altogether eliminated. These things have a way of rearing their ugly head especially when money and profit is involved. However, no self-respecting politician is going to come out and say “I support the slave trade.” We can certainly strive for a goal of zero elective abortions. Would you tell a school there will always be drop-outs so forget about trying to achieve a 100% graduation rate? It is a worthy goal.
Would you have believed 25 years ago that there would be 75% fewer abortion facilities now than there was then? That the co-founder of NARAL, Norma McCorvey, and others involved in the abortion industry would courageously become pro-life? Anything is possible with God.
Besides, even Planned Parenthood has made reducing the need for abortion a focus of its push for contraception. Whether they are being sincere or not is a different matter.
