SoMG,
I answered you this morning on the “FOCA” thread…
https://www.jillstanek.com/archives/2008/07/obama_mental_he.html#comments
And I replied to Jasper and Carla on the pro-liferation thread.
So Dr. Kevorkian is running for congress? I don’t he’s as bad as people say. I mean there are some terminal illnesses that are so painful for the person, I can see why death would seem like a blessed relief. There’s a woman at the nursing home my friend lives in with really bad alzheimer’s and all she can do is scream “help”. The worst part is there is nothing anyone can do to help. And for someone to get to that age, you want them to be happy and comfortable and they can’t. I think it’s the worst thing in the world.
One of the biggest problems with alzheimers is that not many people seem to understand it, or even care that much. But it’s something that effects so many, and it can effect anyone. You, me, your friends. Anyone can get it.
Jess,
Kevorkian’s first targets in his quest to slice and dice people were not the ill, but the condemned. He spent years visiting prisons and corresponding with death-row inmates, seeking permission to conduct “obitiatric research” on those being executed.
*
Only after Kevorkian was thrown out of every prison he visited did he hit upon another angle. If condemned people were not going to be made available for “unfettered experimentation on human death,” perhaps he could gain access to experiment on sick and disabled people. His front would be assisted suicide. But his goal would remain human vivisection.
Ironically, it was Kevorkian’s serial assisted suicides of disabled people (to general public applause) that roused the disability-rights community to become the nation’s most effective opponent of legalizing assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Not only were most of Kevorkian’s victims not dying, five weren’t even sick. These included:
Marjorie Wantz, age 58, Kevorkian’s second hastened death, whose emotional and mental difficulties once led to her hospitalization. Wantz sought assisted suicide from Kevorkian, complaining of severe pelvic pain. But her autopsy revealed that she was in splendid physical health.
Rebecca Badger, age 39, sought out Kevorkian to help kill her because she believed she had MS. Her autopsy proved that she did not. Further investigations revealed that Badger was a recovering alcoholic who was suffering from depression and was addicted to pain pills.
*
Judith Curren, age 42, was an obese woman who abused prescription drugs and was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, but her autopsy showed no illness. Shortly before her husband flew her to Kevorkian, she had reported him to the police for violent spouse abuse.

Jess,
It’s very compassionate of you to care so much about the elderly. It will be more important than ever in the years to come because the baby boomer generation is entering that stage in their lives. Maybe you have a calling working with them. The thing that is wrong with Dr. Kevorkian’s behavior is that it is not man’s choice to decide when our time on earth is over. It is God’s choice. Look at the (positive) effect it has had on you and your attitudes. That might be part of God’s plan although it may be hard to understand right now looking at the suffering she is going through.
Have you ever visited the alzheimers patient that you talk about and just held her hand and talked to her? Sometime that’s all people need – a friendly gesture. I’ve worked in a nursing home and it can be heart-breaking at times, but also very rewarding because you sense the appreciation that the residents feel towards kindness almost immediately. God bless you, Jess.
In my comments above to Jess, I don’t mean to minimize the suffering of the terminally ill by any means. It can be a horrible thing. I just don’t believe Dr.K’s methods are correct.
Janet, I’ve been visiting people in a local nursing home for about seven years now. Most of them have had Alzheimer’s (only one is still living). It’s hard because it gets to the point where they don’t know who you are, they don’t know where they are, they don’t know what’s going on. There was one woman who I would often visit and talk to and when it started to get worse she would just ask me to take her home, or tell me to give her her children back. She didn’t know who I was at all.
Alzheimer’s basically erases everything. It’s like they keep going back, loose the ability to control their bodily functions, their ability to eat, until they die. It’s awful.
HI Jess,
I once worked in a group home for people with Alzheimers and I loved it so much. I couldn’t believe I got paid to do their nails and hair, play cards, sing songs and make coffee. It was like having 12 grandmas. They didn’t have much short term memory, like how to use a spoon but ask them about their children or their wedding day and WOW..they knew. I miss them very much. I know it wasn’t as hard for me as I never knew them B4 Alzheimers. They added so much to my life.
Muslim searches a Catholic nun at a U.S airport…..we’re doomed..
Jasper, would you prefer Catholic nuns searching Muslims?
*eyeroll*
I think I’ve seen that Muslim security agent at Detroit metro airport. I was frisked by security myself one time. No girls, its wasn’t some handsome young security guard but some female security guard who looked like a linebacker for the Rams.
The only thing I see in this picture are two American citizens exercising their right to religious freedom and dressing in accordance to their religious beliefs. I also see a security guard doing the job she is hired to do, which is to protect us.
Mary, 9:21 p.m.
I completely agree!
OHNOEZZ!!! A security guard is…
DOING HER JOB!!?!??!
Lord help us all!
Also Jasper, how do you know she isn’t Sikh? They also cover their heads, but are not Muslims. Regardless…you need to be a US citizen to become a TSA, so if you think we’re “doomed” because an American citizen is searching another American citizen at the airport, you REALLY must be in need of something to be upset about.
Huh, I thought the guard just had dark hair.
Regardless, the guard is doing her job. Good on her. You set off the metal detector, you get frisked.
I remember once about a year before 9/11 my family and I were going to take a plane to visit one of my aunts in California. My Dad set off the metal detector, but they just let him get on the plane anyway without any further searching. Maybe because he looks like a clean cut all American guy (he is, he even votes Republican!) and probably because he had a wife and two young daughters with him.
I don’t really know what the point of that story was, since he isn’t a terrorist. Well is he was they would have just let an one onto a plane. It’s good that everyone is checked equally. A nun would be a perfect disguise for a terrorist.
A stupid history teacher in my high school was once saying that it was unconstitutional to search people at airports. I disagreed. he said something like, would you want them searching your children, going through their diapers? And I said that was much better then someone blowing all of us up. I don’t care if it’s unconstitutional. I don’t want to be around a suicide bomber.
Ok lots of typos in that post I’m going to bed!
I forgot to take my computer out of my bag, and my bag had to be swabbed for explosives residue. The TSA people are just following protocol, it may be inconvenient for you, but they are just doing their job. I’m sure this particular worker catches grief like this from small minded people on a regular basis.
I’ve had the experience of being singled out at the airport because I was wearing a long billowy skirt. I think they are worried that you might be hiding weapons or whatever. From now on I will wear pants! Now, this nun probably won’t have that option….. I have to admit, I was a bit annoyed. It was about 6:00 AM and not in the mood….!
Jess 11:56PM
Excellent point. Didn’t some bombers in London attempt to blow up a few planes with their infants in tow, using their infants’ formula as a means to produce an explosive? Who would suspect women and infants, or for that matter Catholic nuns?
One must keep in mind these people are fanatics and you do NOT reason with fanatics and you’re a fool if you think you can. Your only option is to stop them and to protect yourself from them.
Any time people say we can just talk to and reason with people like this I have to say right, and if black people had just sat down and reasoned with the KKK, there would have been no lynchings.
“Jasper, would you prefer Catholic nuns searching Muslims?”
ah, yes. why? because Muslims commit more terrorist attacks than Catholic nuns, it’s common sense.
Amanda,
I didn’t mean to hijack the thread here, but don’t you think that picture is a little silly? searching a Catholic nun? In real police work, profiling in used, which is smart, searching everybody is nonsense. Not all, but in general, many Muslims have a hostile attitude against the US. So, in this case, extreme caution should be used before making them security guards.
Jasper, 7:08am
How does the security guard know for a fact this is a Catholic nun? How does she know she isn’t some fanatic willing to blow up herself and hundreds of other people for some sick cause?
Police officers have had their heads blown off by “innocent” looking people.
The innocence of someone is not a risk security people and police officers can ever assume and thank God they don’t.
Also Jasper I’m sure extreme caution was used in making this woman, or any other TSA security person, a security guard. She is likely as loyal a citizen as you are who happens to practice a certain religious faith.
Let’s not forget that innocent Muslims have died in acts of terror.
“Not all, but in general, many Muslims have a hostile attitude against the US. So, in this case, extreme caution should be used before making them security guards.”
Could you be ANY more of a bigot? It really is disgusting to hear actual people speak this way.
Do you know how stringent the hiring process is for TSA? First of all, they REQUIRE US Citizenship – not legal alien, not resident alien, etc – US CITIZENS. They run background checks, fingerprint checks, etc. So are you SERIOUSLY advocating singling out Muslim US CITIZENS and preventing them from having certain jobs because A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF THEM don’t like America? Should we kick them all out of the country then Jasper? Put them in internment camps maybe? I mean, what are you honestly suggesting? And again, how do you know she is Muslim and not Sikh, how do you know that woman is really a nun? I could go buy a habit at a costume store in 15 minutes – that does NOT make me exempt from the MANDATORY security screening our airports require to keep us safe.
If you don’t think she has the right to be Muslim and work in the US, then honestly, why do you live in a free country?
I would think a Catholic nun would be far more comfortable being frisked by a Muslim female security guard. This is obviously a woman of religious conviction, more conservative, and inclined to be more respectful and understanding of how uncomfortable frisking can be for a nun, or another Muslim woman. I’m sure this guard frisks Muslim women and women in more traditional cultures and clothing as well who may be very uncomfortable with such a thing if not performed by a Muslim woman.
And I’m sure she’d frisk me as well if she felt it necessary!
That’s her job and I’m thankful she and other TSA officers do it.
“How does the security guard know for a fact this is a Catholic nun?”
One can simply look at her country of origin, her age, etc.
“Let’s not forget that innocent Muslims have died in acts of terror.”
I realize that Mary, and I realize that many muslims are law-abiding people here. I just think we have to use a little common sense.
“Do you know how stringent the hiring process is for TSA?”
the TSA is kind-of joke, they take someone as long as they’re breathing.
“Could you be ANY more of a bigot?”
LOL! No, I’m not a biggot.
“If you don’t think she has the right to be Muslim and work in the US, then honestly, why do you live in a free country?”
I never said she couldn’t work in the US, of course she can, but do have to make her a security agent at the airport? You know what I mean?
Amanda and Mary,
Thank you!
Jasper,
I would elaborate more on what they said but they pretty much covered it all for me! How do you know in their training that they don’t tell these workers to search ANYONE that has a long, full skirt on? Therefore, the nun’s habit fits that criteria whether you like it or not. I mean, really Jasper, this is America and you can practice any religion you want to. Being of a certain religion doesn’t leave one exempt from being searched in an airport.
One can simply look at her country of origin, her age, etc.
Yeah, and soldiers in Iraq can know that children aren’t carrying a bomb by looking at their age and their clothing. Oh, wait. Crazy people do crazy things. You set off a security alarm, you get frisked. Doesn’t matter where you’re born or how old you are or what you’re wearing. I think that’s a far better policy than: someone who fits the security agent’s pre-conceived notions of what a terrorist looks like gets frisked.
I never said she couldn’t work in the US, of course she can, but do have to make her a security agent at the airport? You know what I mean?
No, not really.
Jasper,
Nuns come in all sizes, shapes, colors, and national origins. One cannot make an assumption by appearance alone. I’ve seen Muslim women dressed in what could be considered a nun’s garb.
Again, how can security know for certain this is a nun? Perhaps the Muslim security guard was called by a supervisor to search the nun. Perhaps it was thought the nun would be more comfortable with a more conservative religious woman doing the frisking. Or perhaps the Muslim woman is just doing what she is supposed to do, which is to make no assumptions and take no risks with the lives of innocent people.
Or perhaps the Muslim woman is just doing what she is supposed to do, which is to make no assumptions and take no risks with the lives of innocent people.
Thank you Mary! You are so right!
“One can simply look at her country of origin, her age, etc.”
Yeah that would have worked out really well for Tim McVey or Eric Rudolph, wouldn’t it!
“the TSA is kind-of joke, they take someone as long as they’re breathing.”
Really Jasper? Do you do a lot of hiring for the TSA? You know their hiring procedures? Because if US Citizenship, criminal background checks, and drug testing aren’t enough for you, clearly your only determining factor is religion – and that is completley unconstitutional.
“I never said she couldn’t work in the US, of course she can, but do have to make her a security agent at the airport? You know what I mean?”
No, I don’t know what you mean – and what you’re saying right now is the very definition of a bigot, whether you want to accept that or not.
So please, enlighten us Jasper, what jobs CAN a Muslim US citizen have in this country under your rules?
“Or perhaps the Muslim woman is just doing what she is supposed to do, which is to make no assumptions and take no risks with the lives of innocent people.”
I think it’s better to make assumptions, that what police work is all about. It’s called profiling, which is a good thing.
“Doesn’t matter where you’re born or how old you are or what you’re wearing. I think that’s a far better policy than: someone who fits the security agent’s pre-conceived notions of what a terrorist looks like gets frisked.”
So you don’t think more attention should be paid to young muslim men from Saudi-Arabia than Catholic nuns from Ireland?
I think it’s better to make assumptions, that what police work is all about. It’s called profiling, which is a good thing.
Yeah, and people who wear long, full skirts can hide stuff UNDER those skirts. So they profiled her. Do you just have a problem with it cause she’s Catholic?
And actually, Jasper, when you don’t hire someone based SOLELY on their religion of preference, THAT is called DISCRIMINATION. NOT profiling. She’s a US citizen, and obviously went through all the checks/interviews/whatever else they do to be in the position she is, so she obviously DESERVES to have that position. NOT giving her that position based on her religion is called discrimination buddy. And if you think that’s a good thing, well, then I guess Amanda’s right.
“I think it’s better to make assumptions, that what police work is all about. ”
Uhhh… maybe on Planet Jasper. But in REALITY, police work is about finding EVIDENCE.
So on Planet Jasper, all white people are “assumed” innocent at the airport?
All I can say is… thank the good Lord you’re not in charge.
I think it’s better to make assumptions, that what police work is all about. It’s called profiling, which is a good thing.
All profiling does is create groups of people that are not subject to suspicion — which creates easy in’s for terrorists. Because then they just need to find one middle-aged white computer nerd-looking guy, or one old woman, willing to dress up like a nun or a doctor or any other group the security agent on duty think is “safe.” And that’s hundreds of lives lost because of assumptions made.
Police officers don’t rely just on profiling. When deciding where to allocate resources or where to focus, they may — but an airplane is a self-selecting group of people, not an entire city’s population, and it is very easy to narrow down your focus without going on generalities like profiling. If a police officer had two people in front of him — a black man who smiled and waved to him as he walked past, and a white man who ran as soon as he saw the police car, do you think he’d rely on racial profiling? Or would he rely on the more individual information regarding the person’s behavior? Setting off security alarms is individual and specific, like sketchy behavior is — far more useful than profiling.
So you don’t think more attention should be paid to young muslim men from Saudi-Arabia than Catholic nuns from Ireland?
I think attention should be paid to anyone who sets off any security alarms — metal detectors or ‘bulky clothing’ warnings or anything. I have been patted down a couple times and I always thank the security agent for doing her job. I’d get frisked 100,000 times, happily, if it meant catching one terrorist who set off the same warning bells that I did.
Most of the most infamous cannibals in this country were white people, white men. White Christians at that. Should we assume all white Christian men are cannibals? Starting with my Dad. I’ll inform him he’s no longer welcome in the kitchen tonight when he gets home.
Please don’t assume anything, Jess.
Did you read everything jasper wrote Carla?
“Uhhh… maybe on Planet Jasper. But in REALITY, police work is about finding EVIDENCE.”
It’s not just about finding evidence. Let’s say in my neiborhood 95% of car thefts were commited by hispanics from a certain area of town, where is the first place I should search for the criminal of car thefts? Should it be across town where elderly people reside?
“And actually, Jasper, when you don’t hire someone based SOLELY on their religion of preference, THAT is called DISCRIMINATION.”
I didn’t say “solely”, but some extra precaution should be made when hiring young muslims (from say, for example ;Iran or saudi-arabia)for security positions. After all, 1 in 4 young muslims in the US think homicidal bombings are ok.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,274934,00.html
We just need to be smart here, not silly. That’s all I’m saying.
“I think attention should be paid to anyone who sets off any security alarms — metal detectors or ‘bulky clothing’ warnings or anything. I have been patted down a couple times and I always thank the security agent for doing her job. I’d get frisked 100,000 times, happily”
Oh, wow. What a waste of time. You mean you should fisked at the same rate as a muslim men from, let’s say; Pakistan or Eygyt?
Alexandra,
In addition to those who set off metal detectors or are wearing bulky clothing, when you check in at the desk, every 15th to 20th ticket is pre-marked with an “S” – doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are, or where you’re from – its selected at random (S stands for “selectee”), and that selectee goes through the full search – being patted down, having the contents of their bags gone through by hand, etc. Also, anyone flying on a one-way ticket is automatically given “selectee” status – again, doesn’t matter if its Mother Theresa. How about an American white guy with one of those T shirts with George Bush in the cross hairs? Jasper, does he still get a pass because he’s not one of those EEEEEEEEEEEVIL Muslims?
And yes, I really suspect my Dad of being a cannibal. That explains all the human hands and feet in fridge.
*sarcasm*
Haha, the more you post, the more compeltely clear you make it that you are, in fact, a bigot.
So tell me, in Jasperville, what jobs CAN Muslims who are American citizens have?
Jasper, if you know the person who was robbing cars was Hispanic then you would look for that particular Hispanic person. You wouldn’t just arrest any Hispanic person.
http://www.thehistorychannel.co.uk/site/tv_guide/full_details/Crime/programme_1424.php
Jasper, based on your theory about what “police work” involves, any and every priest should be considered a suspect for every incidence of a boy being sexually assaulted.
And since most corporate fraud is committed by wealthy white guys, they should all have to live udner a constant cloud of suspicion too, right?
Oh, wow. What a waste of time. You mean you should fisked at the same rate as a muslim men from, let’s say; Pakistan or Eygyt?
If I’m setting off security alarms at the same rate as them, then YES! If I’ve got some piece of metal in my pocket then I hope to heck that they’re going to notice it and take extra precautions with me, are you kidding?
Profiling is what you go off of when you have nothing else. It’s a place to start. People setting off security alarms is FAR MORE specific than people who merely look a certain way.
Alexandra,
My dad brought home a picture a few months ago of the pile of knives, guns, screwdrivers, scissors, and other sharp things you wouldn’t want someone to have on an airplane that the Logan Airport TSA dumped to be counted and disposed of – thats not even counting all the drugs – those go straight to the State Police.
It was seriously about a 4 foot circle, 2 feet high in the middle.
But I bet every single one of those was found on Muslim person, right Jasper?
Check this out, there are several pictures that basically look like the one my dad showed me:
http://people.howstuffworks.com/weapons-confiscated-at-airport.htm
“So tell me, in Jasperville, what jobs CAN Muslims who are American citizens have?”
yes, but Mulsims (whi immigrated from certain nations) should get more scrutiny if they’re applying for a security position at the airport. Would you agree Amanda?
“In addition to those who set off metal detectors or are wearing bulky clothing, when you check in at the desk, every 15th to 20th ticket is pre-marked with an “S” – doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are, or where you’re from – its selected at random”
See Amanda, thats stupid. A waste of time.
“How about an American white guy with one of those T shirts with George Bush in the cross hairs?”
well, maybe a little bit? (just kidding)
“Jasper, based on your theory about what “police work” involves, any and every priest should be considered a suspect for every incidence of a boy being sexually assaulted.”
Well, if he worked in a catholic church, one may have take a look at the priests who worked there. I wouldn’t look in across town in a temple if the kid never stepped fooot in there.
“And since most corporate fraud is committed by wealthy white guys, they should all have to live udner a constant cloud of suspicion too, right?”
Not a cloud, but if money is missing from a company, I wouldn’t send the police down to the inner city projects. By your logic, you would have the police check everybody.
see what I’m talking about here???
Wow thanks Amanda, my Dad has had this little red Swiss army knife he takes everywhere with him. I’ll have to tell him not to take it on a plane with him.
Ha, Amanda, I like the cleaver. “Yeah, I carry one of those around all the time — oops, sorry, forgot to pack it this time!” What the heck?
To me, not frisking me or a nun or whoever else raises a red flag for whatever reason is like: if a kid got sexually abused and there was a guy in town who spent every single lunch break at the middle school watching the gym classes from the bleachers. But the police gave him a pass because he wasn’t a priest, and people have a stereotype of priests being more likely to molest kids. What!? You raise a red flag, you get investigated — I can’t imagine arguing any other point of view.
“yes, but Mulsims (whi immigrated from certain nations) should get more scrutiny if they’re applying for a security position at the airport. Would you agree Amanda?”
Do you realize what you are advocating is BLATENT DISCRIMINATION BASED ON RELIGION. Our Constitution SPECIFICALLY PROHIBITS that. If you have a problem with this being a FREE country, by all means, there are plenty of countries that allow religious discrimination, maybe you should consider immigrating yourself.
And no, I don’t agree that ANY US CITIZEN should be treated differently from any other US citizen unless there is EVIDENCE to warrant it.
“See Amanda, thats stupid. A waste of time.”
Really. So the 5000 weapons (see link above) that are confiscated every day at US Aiports are all taken from Muslims? You are perfectly comfortable with a guy walking on your airplane with a meat cleaver or a bag of heroin as long as he’s white?? Tell me again how you’re not a bigot.
Well, if he worked in a catholic church, one may have take a look at the priests who worked there. I wouldn’t look in across town in a temple if the kid never stepped fooot in there.
If the kid never set foot in a temple then you would have no reason to look there. If someone sets off a security alarm, you have a reason to look at them.
A Muslim guy who doesn’t set off any security alarms is the equivalent of the temple across town — not the nun who does set off the security alarm.
So jasper, all the terrorist have to do is find an older white (looking) woman to dress up as a nun (likes it’s hard to find a nun costume) and they can bring any weapons they want onto a plane?
https://www.alexanderscostumes.com/store/images/Nun%20Costume%20-%20Plus%20Size%2017109.jpg
Only $60 and some make up and you’re a nun!
Jess – those key chain size Swiss Army Knives, nail scissors, and tools aren’t classified as “weapons” the same way that a knife or a gun would be – you can’t bring them past security, but you can have them in your checked luggage. Its just that you can not have them in any carry on or on your person – if you do, they get taken away, but you can claim them when you get back.
You’d think that would be common sense at this point, but obviously people still try to get through security with 6 inch switchblades. My dad brought home one of his favorites – a cane with a brass duck head – and you pull the duck head and out comes a 9 inch blade, which the man who got caught with it claimed was a “letter opener”. It’s hanging on the coat rack in our front entry way for “just in case”.
=)
“A Muslim guy who doesn’t set off any security alarms”
A young muslim guy coming from, let’s say Saudi Arabia should set off security alarms by his country of origin alone.
Do you see any catholic nuns in this picture?
“You are perfectly comfortable with a guy walking on your airplane with a meat cleaver or a bag of heroin as long as he’s white??’
No. But I would be less concerned if he was from Japan rather than Iran. wouldn’t you?
Nun or Costume Jasper?
http://www.protentapp.com/images/nun.png
and you still haven’t told me – what jobs CAN a Muslim US Citizen have in Jasperville?
And how about you? An upper middle class white guy? Well… stats show that most child molesters are white guys, and most corporate criminals are middle to upper class white guys. Almost ALL serial killers have been white guys too. So by your own criteria, shouldn’t you be under constant suspicion, or does this rule only apply to Muslims?
and you still haven’t told me – what jobs CAN a Muslim US Citizen have in Jasperville?
Any job.
“And how about you? An upper middle class white guy? Well… stats show that most child molesters are white guys, and most corporate criminals are middle to upper class white guys. Almost ALL serial killers have been white guys too. So by your own criteria, shouldn’t you be under constant suspicion, or does this rule only apply to Muslims?”
yes, if I fit that profile, yes I should. I have no problem with that.
You’d be surprized if you met me Amanda. I worked with many immigrants and get alone great with them, even more so than some “white” people. I have traveled to many countries and understand different cultures, etc.
“No. But I would be less concerned if he was from Japan rather than Iran. wouldn’t you?”
Ummm no… I think I’d be a little too concerned with the fact that HE HAD A MEAT CLEAVER to give a rats @@@ what COLOR and RELIGION he was.
I really cannot comprehend for a second what daily life must be like for a bigot such as yourself. Do you go duck and cover every time you see a Muslim woman on the street? Have you called homeland security on all the local 7-11 owners? Would you refuse to board a plane if a Muslim family boarded with you? Refuse food from a Muslim waitress, or healtcare from a Muslim nurse/doctor?
Even though my background is Catholic, half my family is Lebanese and look very ethnic. I wonder if you’d label all of my great uncles as potential terrorists – when they’re actually deeply religious Catholics. But they deserve it, right, because they LOOK like Arabs?
Jasper,
I think we can all agree that posting that picture was in poor taste, and served no purpose on this website, except to get people all riled up which you certainly did.
The question is, whether or not the principle of non-discrimination on the basis of religion should apply to muslims, given that Islam supports discrimination (including murder) on the basis of religion.
And what is your point with the 9/11 terrorists?
First of all, everyone and their brother knows they shouldn’t have been allowed on board with box cutters – and no one, not a nun, a Muslim, or a Japanese lady could board a plane with one now – or even a nail file.
Second of all, you weren’t talking about a Muslim from Egypt getting on a plane when you said we were “doomed”. You were talking about a US CITIZEN who happens to be Muslim, DOING HER JOB. Don’t try to twist it in to something else now that no one is backing you up on this.
Yes jasper, why are we doomed? Because a Muslim can get the same job a white person can get? Because we don’t consider a nun better then everyone else? Are you saying nuns should get special treatment? Maybe we should start by giving them special parking spaces?
Amanda,
I’m not saying anything about what they look like. It has to do with their country of origin.
“Do you go duck and cover every time you see a Muslim woman on the street? Have you called homeland security on all the local 7-11 owners? Would you refuse to board a plane if a Muslim family boarded with you? Refuse food from a Muslim waitress, or healtcare from a Muslim nurse/doctor?
No, no and No.
My best friend is Armenian Amanda.
Would your best friend be offended you posted that picture Jasper, and said “We’re doomed”
“I’m not saying anything about what they look like. It has to do with their country of origin.”
Oh okay, so you can tell the country of origin by looking at someone though? So what’s the “country of orgin” of the Airport employee who by doing her job caused you to proclaim “we are doomed”?
More than likely, her country of origin is THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Guess what, millions of Muslim people are born here. Some of them even have jobs. Who’da thunk it?
So why don’t you try to explain to us once again what about that picture means we are doomed.
Yes, he probably would Elizabeth.
My point was about political correctness more than anything else.
What does somebody being searched at an airport by a person who WORKS at the airport have to do with political correctness exactly?
Where did you find that picture exactly Jasper? Was there an article attached?
“First of all, everyone and their brother knows they shouldn’t have been allowed on board with box cutters – and no one, not a nun, a Muslim, or a Japanese lady could board a plane with one now – or even a nail file.”
why not? I don’t mind a Japenese lady with box cutter or even a gun, but I’d be a little worried if 5 muslims had them. Why? because the statistics show that the overwhelming majority of terrorists are muslim.
“Where did you find that picture exactly Jasper? Was there an article attached?”
It was from Michell Malkins website, I go there from time to time to check out her articles…
http://michellemalkin.com/2007/09/22/photo-of-the-day-9/
You’re still avoiding the question…

That Japenese lady with a gun could cause some problems Jasper. Statistically perhaps we’re safe, as we would be with most Muslims with a gun.
I prefer no one on the plane have a gun, except air marshals and the pilots.
Amanda: 11;33; In addition to those who set off metal detectors or are wearing bulky clothing, when you check in at the desk, every 15th to 20th ticket is pre-marked with an “S” – doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are, or where you’re from – its selected at random (S stands for “selectee”), and that selectee goes through the full search – being patted down, having the contents of their bags gone through by hand, etc.
Wow! That’s something i’ve never heard of. Where’s the “s” on the ticket?
Ew, Michell Malkin. She’s always dissing Asians and Asian Americans. She hates her ethnicity and wants to be white, that’s why she’s always trying to suck up to white people (ie, the picture).
Remember the days when flying was fun? Anyone remember Republic Airlines? They had the BEST food! (…. thinks back to 1975…)
Lol Janet, do you want to know so you can “accidentally” cover it with your thumb? Or, make your own “s” is Mr. Hunk McHottie is doing the searches? : )
Oh man, there was this thing a few days ago involving this stupid sports car and a man going through some mid-life crisis. I ended up getting a warning for going 46 in a 35 mile per-hour zone (on the bright side the sports car got pulled over too). The worst part is that the cop wrote “M” for male on my warning! That’s upsetting. I was wearing a skirt too. I don’t think I look like a guy : (
I was going to go to the police station and tell them about the mistake, but as the cop said to me, “This isn’t going to cost any money, it’s no big deal.” So I’ll just let it slide. (I don’t look like a man do I?)
Janet, I don’t know about all airlines, but on Northwest it shows up next to your name on the bottom of the ticket… it looks kinda like this:
Nunny McNunnerson ##SSSSSS
on the very bottom left hand corner
Its been a very successful way of catching people with stuff they shouldn’t have, who would have not stuck out otherwise. And obviously with one-way travel, people should expect it.
Janet, I bring my own food with me when I travel. If I get in trouble for anything at an airport, it will be smuggling fruit.
Janet,
I don’t mind them not serving meals on flights anymore since I am ALWAYS next to/behind/in front of the person who gets airsick on the plane. And I’m serious. ALWAYS!
Lol, Elizabeth, and the person who gets airsick is probably thinking, “great, I’m always next to the girl with the baby.”
If I sit next to the person with the baby, “I have a magazine, I’ll let you read it if you let me hold your baby.”
“So why don’t you try to explain to us once again what about that picture means we are doomed.”
It has more to do with the Catholic nun being searched rather then who is doing it I guess. I just thought it was absurd.
We should use profiling more when it comes to searching people at airports, rather than random searches. It is true, every muslim is not a terrorist but, every terrorist is apt to be a muslim. Sorry, I know it’s hard to swallow for some libs, but those are the facts.
“If I sit next to the person with the baby, “I have a magazine, I’ll let you read it if you let me hold your baby.””
Oh yeah! Awesome, Jess!
lol Jess..I actually haven’t been on a plane with Gabriella yet…this was all from my previous life when I went on vacations and they actually WERE vacations. Now, when I hear the word vacation or trip, all I can think is I’ll be working AWAY from home this time. lol.
And again, how do you know that’s even a Catholic nun? Haven’t you ever heard of a wolf in sheep’s clothing (not that all wolves are bad or even that any are bad)? And about Catholic terrorist, Spanish Inquisition anyone?
No one expects the Spanish Inquisition! No one!
Jasper,
I could go and buy a nun costume…does that mean I shouldn’t be searched? Come on, be real here. If she set off the metal detector, she should have been searched. Or even if it’s just a random search because of what’s on her ticket, she should be searched. That’s WHY they have those. Being a nun doesn’t get one exempt from something ANYBODY would have to go through, and I find it absurd that you think it does.
It doesn’t seem to me that she’s putting up much of a fight. Why? Because she know’s they’re doing their job and I’m sure she’s THANKFUL for that. I know I am.
You guys are all too funny!
Jess,
“McHottie” – very cute;
the cop writing M instead of W – maybe he had it upside down – you don’t look like a man! Don’t bring fresh fruit back into the U.S. from foreign countries – fruit flies – they’ll confiscate it.
Beware of suits of armor in airports! (Is that what they wore during the Spanish Inquisition?)
Amanda,
Nunny McNunnerson – ha ha!
Elizabeth,
Sorry about the bad luck! Don’t wait too long to take a trip. It’s not easy, but still nice to get away!
“And about Catholic terrorist, Spanish Inquisition anyone?”
when was that Jess? 500 years ago?
Elizabeth 2:15: It doesn’t seem to me that she’s putting up much of a fight. Why? Because she know’s they’re doing their job and I’m sure she’s THANKFUL for that. I know I am.
Also she’s saying a Hail Mary and praying for patience at the same time. It’s hard to yell at some one when you are praying. :) If you were as old as me, you’d remember a time when this picture would seem preposterous to EVERYONE. That’s kind of the point Jasper is making. We are living in a different age now, for sure.
It’s hard to yell at some one when you are praying. :)
Hmmm, I’ll have to try that one..the praying and not the yelling lol.
http://www.beliefnet.com/gallery/terrorist.html
“It has more to do with the Catholic nun being searched rather then who is doing it I guess.”
Right. Which is why you felt the need to mention her religion, and then mention she shouldn’t be able to have that job.

Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold – perpetrated one of the most horrible crimes in the last decade, the infamous Columbine High School shooting rampage.
George Metesky – also known as The Mad Bomber, planted a bomb in a theatre in 1956, and attributed that to the “Hand of God’.
David Berkowitz – also known as Son of Sam, was a serial killer who terrorized all of New York until he was caught
Jeffrey Dahmer
Jeffrey Dahmer a serial killer and cannibal – no need to mention how he fits the bill of a terrorist
…all Muslims Jasper?
Amanda, your list should include Jon Salvi, who shouted “This is what you get, you should PRAY THE ROSARY!” while committing two terrorist murders.
“And about Catholic terrorist, Spanish Inquisition anyone?”
when was that Jess? 500 years ago?

………………………….
Actually the last auto-da-fe/solemn condemnation was in 1815 when a former priest was burned at the stake in Mexico.
There’s a terrific opera which is largely about the Spanish Inquision: Verdi’s DON CARLO. If you like the Godfather movies, you’ll like DON CARLO. Be sure to get a recording with the great Boris Christoff as King Phillip II.
Somg –
of course, I forgot John Salvi AND I also forgot the Virgina Snipers…though the older of the two was a member of the Nation of Islam, he was American as apple pie and therefore his “country of origin” would not have caused any concern to Jasper. The younger boy was not Muslim.
Also, there was the whole anthrax thing, which turned out to be domestic as well.
Then there are eco terrorists who burn down housing developments and set livestock free.
And of course all of the Aryan Race groups that are all over the country… just think about all the black churches firebombed through the Civil Rights movement, and all of the nonsense and threats they still spew to this day…
Cool, SoMG.
Speaking of Romantic operas, I’m listening to Carmen right now!
“…all Muslims Jasper?”
No about 99% though…
well, I could post all the attacks by Isalmic terrorists since 9/11 but it would crash the server. But here you go:
http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/Pages/TheList.htm
10,000 terrorist attacks committed by Muslims since 9/11/01 (a rate of about three or four a day).
“If you were as old as me, you’d remember a time when this picture would seem preposterous to EVERYONE. That’s kind of the point Jasper is making. We are living in a different age now, for sure.”
But Janet, even before 9/11, if ANYONE walked through metal detector and set it off, they’d have been searched by who ever was working at that security station. It has NEVER been magically okay for clergy/nuns to get a pass through security, and there have NEVER been laws preventing Muslims from working at airports.
Amanda,
I don’t dislike Muslims, I’m just for smart law-enforcement. I really hope Iraq works out, there are alot of muslim people who just want a safe place to work and raise their family.
Truce, ok?
Why did you even post the picture jasper?
On Dr. Phil right now, uterus transplants.
Jess, 4:02 p.m.
I have asked the same question. I’m not really sure why he did…but it was in poor taste IMO.
But Janet, even before 9/11, if ANYONE walked through metal detector and set it off, they’d have been searched by who ever was working at that security station. It has NEVER been magically okay for clergy/nuns to get a pass through security……

I believe you are right about that.
Actually Jasper, if you look per capita, the number of suicide bombings and acts of terror- the highest isn’t in a middle eastern country nor does it involve Muslims- it’s between two ethnic groups in Sri Lanka: the Singhalese and the Tamils.
“Why did you even post the picture jasper?”
To see the response from the commentors and have a discussion, thats all.
Jasper: Mission accomplished.
Jasper, sometimes I wish I believed in god, because I would love to relish in the fantasy of your god judging you the way you have judged Muslims and other people who simply “look” differently than yourself.
It’s disgusting. Completely, utterly, sickening.
I think I might take a few more days off again. This whole blog is filled with bile masquerading as conversation.
Janet 1:41PM
I remember when Republic was North Central airlines(aka The Blue Goose and The Ruptured Duck) and it landed at every fire hydrandt in Michigan. Oh, it also landed at Green Bay, WI. Its symbol was in fact a blue goose. The big joke was a picture of two geese mating and a caption that said “fly United”.
Eydt’s comment has been deleted because false allegations and bad language.
Hahaha, oooh, Jasper, you’re deleting comments because they hurt your feelings. You know what I said and that’s all that matters.
Where was the bad language, Jasper? Was it when I said bile? Masquerading? Conversation?
How about when I failed to capitalize “god”? Was that it?
How about this one, Mr. Moderator…
Why weren’t TS’s comments deleted when he said having gay sex would create the AIDS virus? Wasn’t that a false allegations?
Nice double standard. You still sicken me.
Jasper,
With all respect, I read Edyt’s comments and only read an opinion, I saw no bad language or false accusations. You are the moderator so I’ll leave it at that, I just don’t see what the problem was.
Ok, I put Edyt’s comment back. She is an evil person though that should be avoided.
Lol, ohhh mann.
Jasper, 10:29PM
That comment is despicable. I’m appalled you would say such a thing. You were saying something about false accusations and foul language?
Wow, Jasper, you’re the only one coming off as a piece of fecal matter right now. Who are you to call Edyt something so foul because you were called out on your inability to take criticism? Grow. Up.
I’m shocked that someone who behaves in such a juvenile manner (and conveys his thoughts in such a simple, embarrassing way) is still allowed to maintain a moderator’s position.
Go Mary, go Mary, go-go-go Mary… (and Edyt too! :D).
It’s not my problem you people can’t handle the truth. She’s the one that started throwing around the insults.
Glad to see the mature part of the conversation has started.
The “bile” comment is still there. I must have missed something.
Janet, I think Jasper put it back up there.
Jasper- seriously dude- calm down.
You’re not right, I think you ought to just accept that.
RAE!!!!!
OMG!!!!
YAY!!!
*HUG*
Jasper,
Thank you my friend but I can handle the truth just fine. I’m fond of you Jasper, and being that I’m the old battle ax of the blog I’ve earned the right to speak my peace and to issue the occasional tongue lashing where I see fit. She disagreed with you. She expressed her outrage at something you said. People do that all the time on this blog. I do and I just did with you. If Edyt had made that comment to you I would have said the exact same thing to her.
I’m glad you deleted that comment. Its beneath you and this blog.
“You’re not right, I think you ought to just accept that.”
Yes, I am right.
Lyssie, it’s nice to hear from you again. Last time we spoke you really blasted me… :)
Lyssie- get on AIM!
*whipcrack*
I have no self control- I told myself I wouldn’t post on here anymore.
*sigh*
But here i am…
What are you right about Jasper?
That Muslims commit acts as terrorists?
Well, child molesters and serial killers are mostly white males.
We can spew out stereotypes all day if we wanted to, but to apply them to ALL people from a certain race magnifies one’s ignorance and isn’t very productive.
And to say that ones race/religion makes them incapable to do a job is ridiculous and just plain old discrimination.
Rae,
Well I’m certainly glad you’re back.
Lyssie,
So nice to see you as well
“What are you right about Jasper?”
That certain types of profiling should be used at Airport security check points. For instance, Catholic nuns should not be frisked or interrogated at the same rate as young Muslims from terror sponsoring nations.
Well then people will ALL start dressing up as nuns, don’t you get THAT Jasper?!!
The terrorists will say, well they don’t search nuns or priests, so we can dress up like them and get in EASY!
They do use profiling..maybe they’re told to search people with long, full skirts on! So they do their job!
Good Nite everyone. Mother Hen is fluffing her feathers and and settling on her nest for the night.
I’ll check in tomorrow.
“And to say that ones race/religion makes them incapable to do a job is ridiculous and just plain old discrimination.”
I didn’t say incapable, I said caution should be used before hiring Muslim immigrants for airport security. Many Muslims, not all, have an hostile attitude of America.
“Well, child molesters and serial killers are mostly white males.”
do you have any data to back up this accusation?
Jasper: That’s discrimination and you KNOW it. ANYBODY who sets off an alarm at the airport should be frisked because you DON’T know if somebody is truly a Catholic nun or in disguise.
It’s only a matter of time before terrorists start kidnapping people you would deem “normal” and brainwashing them into folks who would bomb people or hijack planes- so we can NOT really know who is a terrorist and who isn’t.
“The terrorists will say, well they don’t search nuns or priests, so we can dress up like them and get in EASY!”
Not too many Muslim men would pass as a catholic nun.
Jasper: Amanda (I think?) already listed above about a dozen serial killers- all of them were white males.
Thats fine Rae, if a white male fits the profile of a child molester, so be it. That information should be used, not discarded because of political correctness.
@Jasper: Women can be and are terrorists too. They can easily dress up as a nun.
And men can dress up as priests. All they need is a black shirt with a collar and voila- insta-Priest!
http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/pub/pdf/rsorp94.pdf
I’d be sure to profile any white male in a position that requires him to be alone with children. Better safe than sorry.
I mean, let’s place definite preference for women and hispanic males. They can’t be molesters. The data backs this one up.
Thats good PIP, no problem with me….
thank you pip,
I’m really lazy and wasn’t going to look up figures at this time of night, especially since it was just a way for Jasper to shift the conversation so he didn’t have to acknowledge the actual POINT of what I was saying.
Hey Liz,
I say we start a site that demonizes white males because 77.6% of child molesters are white males. We can post pictures of the molesters, and then imply that all white men fit into the category!
Sounds fun!
I’m alllll for it pip..and don’t forget serial killers..most white males are also serial killers too!
Awesome!
Hey Jasper,
glad you are fine with it. If by profiling you are turned away from a job you are more than qualified for, I’m glad you have pre-agreed to not bring up charges.
Thoroughly. Amused. :)
:bows:
I aim to please Lyssie!
You guys don’t understand police work.
So pleaaaaase, Jasper, explain it to ussss.
Mr. Officer.
Jasper I’m glad you understand it so much better than we ever could. Please deign to tell us how racism has helped our justice system.
Jasper:
If we don’t understand police work, then we’ll get Midnite here to explain for us, as you have just about as much experience as the rest of us. Don’t feign enlightenment when your ignorance is on par with the rest of ours. It makes you look even more ridiculous when you pretend to be more informed on the subject when you know just as much as we do.
Liz: You have done well. *takes care of your baby so you can now go do pleasing things for yourself*
Example:
The evidence produced in the trial of Shahawar Matin Siraj, a 23-year-old illegal Pakistani immigrant, convicted on May 24 of planning to blow up the Herald Square subway station in New York City. The NYPD knew about his hatred for America and his predilection for violence only because it had monitored city mosques intensively.
*takes care of your baby so you can now go do pleasing things for yourself*
You mean like sleep without a small child’s foot in my face?
YAAAY!
“Please deign to tell us how racism has helped our justice system.”
It’s not racism PIP, it’s called profiling.
http://www.danielpipes.org/article/3668
Well, maybe the airport profiles people wearing long, full skirts.
They’re still doing their job. Get over it.
You guys don’t understand police work.
No, Jasper, you don’t. You take something that is supposed to be the most general of guidelines — something that is supposed to tell you where to start looking — and think it is the only thing that should matter. Profiling is used to narrow down a massive population to those most likely to need attention — in smaller groups you can screen by more individual and more accurate measures, like metal detectors.
You never answered my question from before:
If a police officer had two people in front of him — a black man who smiled and waved to him as he walked past, and a white man who ran as soon as he saw the police car, do you think he should rely on racial profiling? Or should he rely on the more individual information regarding the person’s behavior?
If a Muslim man passes through security without incident and a white man sets off a security alarm, who should the security agents pay attention to?
I think we should search all nuns.
:)
Jasper, monitoring mosques is not racial profiling.
“Profiling is used to narrow down a massive population to those most likely to need attention — in smaller groups you can screen by more individual and more accurate measures, like metal detectors.”
But not just metal detectors, profiling at security check points should also be used.
“If a police officer had two people in front of him — a black man who smiled and waved to him as he walked past, and a white man who ran as soon as he saw the police car, do you think he should rely on racial profiling? Or should he rely on the more individual information regarding the person’s behavior?”
what is the police officer looking for at the time? or is he just patrolling the streets? If he’s just patrolling the streets, the yes, he should go after the white guy.
“If a Muslim man passes through security without incident and a white man sets off a security alarm, who should the security agents pay attention to?”
the white man. But we just shouldn’t rely on metal detectors and mechanical devices for detection. Why? because security just shouldn’t be for the flight he is going on, I’m also referring to port entry, customs, etc. It’s just not about that particular flight, but entry into the country.
SoMG,
I didn’t say it was racial profiling. Is is a type of profiling though…
“If he’s just patrolling the streets, the yes, he should go after the white guy.”
What and if he is investigating an incident he should go after the black one?
“What and if he is investigating an incident he should go after the black one?”
It all depends on what\where the investigation is about PIP. More details are needed.
why don’t you fill in the blanks for me, shaman.
If he’s just patrolling the streets, the yes, he should go after the white guy.
Checking for security in an airport is like patrolling the streets. You’re not trying to figure out who DID what, you’re just trying to make sure that no one is GOING TO DO something (or that no one has just done something secret that they’re trying to hide). So you look for certain things. Nervous behavior. Setting off metal detectors. Having weapons. Maybe wearing clothing that could easily hide bombs — who knows. If a Muslim guy is acting nervous, or if he sets off a metal detector — then fine, search him. But if a white guy sets off a metal detector and a Muslim guy passes through with no red flags, why shouldn’t the white guy be patted down?
I agree. But I’m nptjust referring to the flight, I’m referring to port entry, customs, etc. Greater scrutiny should be paid to people from terror sponsoring nations. would you agree?
I KNEW it was just a matter of days before you were back, Rae!
Mwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
I agree. But I’m nptjust referring to the flight, I’m referring to port entry, customs, etc. Greater scrutiny should be paid to people from terror sponsoring nations. would you agree?
How does port entry, customs, etc have anything to do with a Muslim security agent patting down a nun? The woman was doing her job, and she was doing it well.
LOL @ Jasper and “understanding policework”
Someone’s been watching too many Law & Order marathons.
in REAL life, you need actual EVIDENCE or witness testimony before you label someone a suspect OR clear them of suspicion.
I’d LOVE to see you bring a case to trial by saying “oh, well, there was a Muslim guy there, so obviously he did it!”
And how many times do you think a criminal has to see a nun or a priest get through security without getting searched before he/she goes to the costume shop and suits up.
Still doesn’t address your ORIGINAL point, which is that you don’t believe Muslim Americans are equally qualified to hold certain jobs as the rest of us. But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, my dad has to deal with bigots like you all the time who flip out and make a stink any time a Muslim even DARES to show up at an aiport.
Amanda,
I don’t watch Law and Order.
I never said Muslims weren’t qualified, but greater scrutiny and care must be paid before hiring one as a security agent.
Let me ask you a question Amanda, in the terror attack that was thwarted below. Should the NYPD have been monitoring Mosques? they were not monitoring Churches or Temples, just Mosques, so they were using profiling. Do you agree?
“I never said Muslims weren’t qualified, but greater scrutiny and care must be paid before hiring one as a security agent.”
LOLOLOLOL
Because you know EXACTLY how much scrutiny went in to hiring that woman? And what kind of “greater scrutiny” that is legal under the US constitution, could be paid other than background checks, citizenship requirements, drug testing, and references?
What does an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT TERRORIST have to do with a LEGAL US CITIZEN doing her job?
Besides, by your own admission, now all they need to do is dress up as priests, and they get a pass right through security! So it won’t even MATTER what they’re actually up to.
You’re ridiculous, you’re a bigot, and you know it.
“You’re ridiculous, you’re a bigot, and you know it.”
Ok Amanda.
Jasper:
Taking a few hits on this one?
I don’t think the danger we face is from Muslims.
I think we need to fear the Lord God Almighty for a generation that has murdered 50,000,000 innocent human beings in this country.
As God used the pagan Philistines against Israel for their unbelief, God may use radical Muslim extremists to deal with the unbelieving church who has turned a blind eye to abortion.
It’ not up to pro-aborts to change legalized abortion, it’s up to the church.
You see Jasper, unbelieving pro-aborts are already condemned until they come to a knowledge of the truth. While we need to love them by proclaiming the truth of Christ, they are literally powerless to do anything about legalized abortion. Stop wasting your time, thinking that somehow they are the key to ending this holocaust.
Jasper said: “Muslim searches a Catholic nun at a U.S airport…..we’re doomed..”
What if Jasper had said this instead: “Catholic nun searched by Muslim at a U.S. airport…we’re doomed.”
Would it have made a difference? Jasper?
Jasper: Taking a few hits on this one?
That’s putting it mildly!
HisMan,
I thought about you this past weekend. Wedding, hiking the Grand Canyon etc. How did it go??
Janet – its still implying that “Muslim” is a qualifier for “being doomed”, and still implies that someone in a nun’s habit should somehow be given special treatment at a security stop.
Both implications are absurd…so no, I don’t think that would have made a difference.
Janet –
How about:
“A Muslim extremist disguised herself as a nun, and passed through the security checkpoint at a Detroit airport unchecked, killing 146 people in the terminal, having hidden a hand grenade under her disguise.”
THEN I’d say we’re doomed.
Carla:
Thanks. Between activities. We went through the Vermillion Cliffs and were in Zion National Park and the edge of the Grand Canyon North Rim on Sunday. What a beautiful country God has created and that in a word! I will post some photos later.
I’m in Park City, UT now with my wife and 12 year old. We are horseback riding, hiking, zip lining, coastering, mountain sliding, river rafting, etc.
The rest of the family is arriving on Wed., and Thurs.
My oldest son is getting married on Friday night in Salt Lake City.
We are then going to spend a week in Yellowstone, then to Jackson Hole with white water rafting down the Snake River, then back to Salt Lake, then Bryce Canyon, then the Grand Canyon, then home.
I don’t think I’ll have any internet in Yellowstone.
HisMan,
Happy Wedding to you then!! I know you are one very proud papa!! Can’t wait to see the pictures.
God Bless.
HisMan,
Sounds like you’re having a blast! I’ve always wanted to do some zip lining, I’m jealous!
Since this thread is a humor thread, here are a couple of jokes John McCain has told in public in the past:
“Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.”
“Did you hear the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die? When she finally regains consciousness and tries to speak, her doctor leans over to hear her sigh contently and to feebly ask,
HisMan, IMO no question that southern Utah has more cool geologic stuff to see than any other siimilar area in the US, (and I’m guessing in the whole world, especially if we factor in the ease of doing so.)
Have a good time. I know you will.
Amanda, I totally understand where you are coming from. If people had been more vigilant at the airports on 9/11, things might be a lot different today. I think we are all a bit hyper-sensitive about all kinds of things since 9/11. I know I am.
HisMan: Have fun at the wedding! Salt Lake City is beautiful!
Mary, Lyssie, thank you.
Why weren’t TS’s comments deleted when he said having gay sex would create the AIDS virus? Wasn’t that a false allegations?
Nice double standard. You still sicken me.

Cause TS never said that Edyt. TS said that gay sex was unhealthy for a number of reasons and infectious diseases that get spread and it was all scientifically supported. And it did not say gay sex WOULD create AIDS. I said that male sperm is likely an integral component in the genesis of AIDS and it is quite possible that one man’s sperm inside another males body is unnatural and could cause abnormal response in the host body including abnormal chromosal responses which COULD be the genesis of AIDS.
Scientifically accurate comments about proven health risks and logical postulations about abnormal injections of sperm.
False allegations — HAH!!! –

ESPECIALLY lot of bile when you post Edyt. Why not take a few months off.
Still completely unsupported ludicrous nonsense that you made up in your head. I’m not getting into it because you don’t understand how viruses work. Take a science class and spare us all the trouble.
I hope no children were present to read such a ridiculous tale — and if those children were present, I hope they read all the very accurate rebuttals to your drivel.
I relish in the irritation I cause you. :) It makes me giggle, and I go to sleep feeling like a genius.
@Edyt: I do too- but it still doesn’t help the severe headaches I get from smacking my head against the wall when I read something spectacularly retarded that “Truthseeker” has posted.
And by the by Truthseeker, your “theory” about the genesis of HIV is still complete horse hockey. Give it a rest and just admit you’re stupid. That’s all I ask.
Edyt and Rae,
What about all the other diseases an viruses and infections caused by gay sex? Do you dispute those too?
Rae and Edyt,
You are free to consider my theory on male sperm and male hormones, which are known super-accelerants to the spread of AIDS, as being a factor in the genesis of AIDS as Horse Hockey Rae. Not everybody needs to think logically so you are free to take it or leave it.
I hope no children were present to read such a ridiculous tale — and if those children were present, I hope they read all the very accurate rebuttals to your drivel.

Your concern for children who might be reading this blog shows the sincere love you hold for them in your heart. And yet you think you have the right to kill them whenever you see fit. Those kinds of swings in rationale are commonly diagnised as schizoprenia.
I relish in the irritation I cause you. :) It makes me giggle, and I go to sleep feeling like a genius.

You never irritated me Edyt. :))

Such as…. ?
You are free to consider my theory on male sperm and male hormones, which are known super-accelerants to the spread of AIDS
Actually, it’s just that the HIV is present in higher concentrations in semen and blood, and the vagina and anus are quite susceptible areas, making it easier to transmit the HIV from male to male or male to female.
But feel free to ignore “facts” and make up utter nonsense in place of it in an attempt to stigmatize gays.
P.S. It is impossible to give another person AIDS.
Edyt: 7:11: P.S. It is impossible to give another person AIDS.
Your statement is misleading to the average reader.
Acquired immune deficiency syndrome or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS or Aids) is a set of symptoms and infections resulting from the damage to the human immune system caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).[1]This condition progressively reduces the effectiveness of the immune system and leaves individuals susceptible to opportunistic infections and tumors. HIV is transmitted through direct contact of a mucous membrane or the bloodstream with a bodily fluid containing HIV, such as blood, semen, vaginal fluid, preseminal fluid, and breast milk.[2][3] This transmission can involve anal, vaginal or oral sex, blood transfusion, contaminated hypodermic needles, exchange between mother and baby during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding, or other exposure to one of the above bodily fluids.
