Pro-life vid of day: UK pro-lifers respond to idea of buffer zones
by Kelli
Pro-lifers in the United Kingdom have recently come under fire for doing something very “American” in nature: protesting abortion and offering help outside abortion facilities.
In response to this new trend, UK shadow home secretary shadow Yvette Cooper has suggested that the government enact “buffer zones” around abortion facilities. In the U.S., pro-lifers have been winning against buffer zone laws in various states.
In this video, Dominica Roberts from ProLife Alliance discusses why she believes UK “buffer zones” are a bad idea:

I believe in minor buffer zones (just enough to keep people from being knocked over as they are walked in, and keep pro- and anti-abortion supporters from being too close). I just (vaguely remember) how much worse the violence at clinics in Florida was before the FACE law was implemented and I don’t want to see more people hurt. And I don’t think getting in pregnant women’s faces anyway protects any babies.
I’ve heard too many testimonies where women have said if just one person had given them information… if just one had offered to help them outside the abortion clinic… they would not have gone through with their abortions.
So, I disagree that “getting in pregnant women’s faces” doesn’t protect babies.
But it has to be done IN THE RIGHT WAY. And that way would be gently and with love.
Well you knew what I meant, just yelling at people and blocking them and such doesn’t get through to them I think.
No, you’re absolutely right. It doesn’t. Hi, by the way! :)
Hi Kel!! Hope you’ve been well.
