The pro-choice and Planned Parenthood crowds are hopping mad about CBS’ decision to air a pro-life/anti-abortion ad featuring Tim Tebow and his mom during the Super Bowl.
As a pro-choice supporter, I say: calm down….
Pro-choice opponents of the ad claim the ad will send the message to people that abortion should not be permitted, that abortion should in fact be outlawed…
The facts behind the ad send a different message to me.
They say that Tebow’s mom had a choice and she made it: She decided not to get an abortion.
As long as women have the right to make that choice, the men and women who think abortions should be legal ought to relax.

Jill Stanek is a nurse turned speaker, columnist and blogger, a national figure in the effort to protect both preborn and postborn innocent human life.
Why don’t pro-aborts run an ad with a severely handicapped child and its mother with the mother declaiming how much she regretted her decision not to abort? The LGBT folks at UF are foaming at the mouth over this because they regard Focus on the Family as a hate group?

See, even the pro-aborts got the message.
Focus on the Family is anti-gay and that’s why I’m not fond of them. It just spreads the stereotype that prolifers are homophobes, and that’s just not true.
Why can’t these two issues be kept separate? Frankly, I don’t care what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home(s). Let’s worry about the babies and their moms and not other people’s sex lives.

Perhaps if those who stereotype Christians as homophobes because of what they THINK Focus on the Family thinks, did a little research and went to Focusonthefamily.org and researched exactly WHAT Focus’ stance is on homosexuality/gender confusion and the research behind what the affects on family and society are… perhaps then they might think a little clearer.

The two issues are separate. In my book everyone…EVERYONE is needed and necessary in the fight to end abortion. That means that as a Catholic, I’m proud to stand with atheists for life and LGBT for life b/c on this issue we stand together. That doesn’t mean I cease to believe in the rest of my Catholic faith. I welcome anyone who wants to stand up for life even if I disagree with them on other things. Same should go for those groups. Regardless of whether Focus on the Family stands for other things they disagree with, in this ad, on that day – they also stand for life.
