Happy Groundhog Day!
12p: At the time of my writing this post, it’s still too early for a video to be available. However, People has revealed today’s prediction by Punxsutawney Phil - the all-seeing, all-knowing celebrity groundhog.
I’ll post today’s video this evening. Meanwhile, enjoy last year’s prediction by Punxsutawney Phil.

I certainly remember last year’s Groundhog Day – the Chicago blizzard dumped over 20 inches of snow and drifts taller than some adults. Lake Shore Drive, which hugs Lake Michigan, was at an eerie standstill with about 500 stranded vehicles.

Arrg…I need to move somewhere warm.
Been a darn warm winter most places in the US, so far. The bugs are going to party like crazy in 2012 unless we get a serious cold spell.
It’s off and on here…it’ll be in the 20s and 30s for a few days…then in the 50s and 60s for a day or two, then back to snowing…hasn’t been a bad snow yet, but Feb. is usually the snowiest month here.
Still unanswered: How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
I knew that sounded familiar. I asked the same thing last year. :)
Looking at the calendar, I would say Phil is right. What one cloudy or sunny morning has to do with it is anybody’s guess. :)
Hans, cute post 12:32a. LL ;)
Hans: Still unanswered: How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
Mr. Owl did figure this out, and the answer is 3, same as for how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie-Pop.
Fortunately, his Canadian counterparts have determined that winter will be short! ;)
Angel, I don’t believe it. I would never believe a groundhog if they said winter was going to end in February. That’s just crazy.
I heard this week that this “all-seeing and all-knowing” groundhog gets it right under 40% of the time. I love the tradition though and have been following Phil for years.
I do wonder what he’s thinking when he’s yanked upward for all to see every year. Is the poor little guy frightened?

He probably looks at all the officials and thinks, “Why so formal? I appear to be underdressed!” :)
Hans, :D
