Lunch Break: “Game On!” (Rick Santorum song)
by LauraLoo
This is an original copyrighted song written by First Love (Camille & Haley Harris & parents: David & Cherri Harris). There are 8 kids in the family.
They started writing the song March 4th and finished it the next day. Then they rushed to the studio about 30 minutes after it was done and recorded it.
Matt Latta videoed this and edited it for last week’s Super Tuesday.

Good victory song! Especially off the heels of yesterday’s Deep South race. It truly has become a two-man race!
Email LauraLoo with your Lunch Break suggestions.

I didn’t know how fast the put the song and video together – that is interesting.
Great song.
BTW, the number of youtube views is close to 1 million now.
This is my favorite song right now.
Do you think it sucks to be the less attractive sister though?
Well gee, Elizabeth…that’s a mean thing to say!
Elizabeth: Heh. This insight led to a Nobel Prize (and an Oscar for Opie!):

So it would only suck if you’re not around intelligent guys. But then that would be a good thing. Whether a guy goes for the prettiest girl first, by this rubric, would act as a bozo filter any girl could employ as a go/no go test for potential suitors. ;-)
As for the song itself, its light tone — Santorum held in an open hand — is a refreshing change of pace from the shockingly messianic adulation we saw in 2008 (e.g., American Prayer)
Which one is supposed to be the less attractive sister?
Vannah: Yeah, as a guy I was wondering that myself with Liz’s remark. We guys see things differently, sure — but when a couple pretty lasses are singing like angels and smiling, I just don’t think about comparisons.
In all seriousness, even if I don’t support Rick Santorum, it is nice to see people alive about something. It’s all too easy for anyone to fall into a deadened state, so I’m glad to see people out and about doing standing up for what they believe in.
And I’m really not sure which one is the less attractive one? I watched it, thinking, “That is righteous hair!” Both of them look like they have really thick hair- and really curly hair at that. To someone like me- someone with stringy, lifeless hair- it’s a good reason to be jealous. :)
My hair’s about a foot long (and growing), and I find myself envious of women’s hair from time to time myself. When I started letting it grow (I do stuff for fun, not as a mid-life crisis), I had no idea what long hair would be like. Hot neck (so frequently ponied), hanging in face, eating problems, and yeah — envying others.
I do have insanely thick hair, though…
I need to really read these posts before I hit enter and walk away. Queen Typo over here… ^.^
I agree, rasqual! My hair is down to the middle of my back, and most of the time I keep it “put up”, because it makes my neck hot! In fact, I have it up right now. ;)
I’ve been wearing mine down for a change. The first year I did the bandana thing frequently, since it wouldn’t all tuck into a band. Finally got it tucked into a band. Then someone competent thinned it (layered, whatever — the vocabulary of all this long hair care drives me nuts; I don’t want to be literate, I just want the hair!) and that left some danglin’ again. Better now but I figured until it gets hot (today, actually, in Chicago!) I’ll let it hang. Problem is, I’m an active outdoors kind of guy, and that’s a problem too for letting it hang. I’m also a windows-rolled-down driver, and that gets really crazy. I’m more sympathetic now when women (such as my wife) prefer the windows up, but for my part I’ll band the hair before I up the window.
Both are attractive and one is more interesting looking then the other. As someone who had been in the modeling business both of these young women would fair well in it (if we were just looking at their faces) but one would do much better then the other just by looking at her bones…remember all beauty is in the eye of be beholder.
Exactly right, ann marie. You used to model? I always wanted to…but I’m waaay too short! ;)
Did anyone watch the special on TLC last night about the Bates family? Friends of the Duggars and also have 19 kids. Nice to see more big culture of life families :)
@Pamela, I am an actress and have done “character” modeling and I use to work at a modeling agency in Minneapolis…years ago. So I can spot a good face. I wonder if, Elizabeth who made the first comment about sucking being the less attractive sister, thinks the other one is more attractive, then the one I see having a more successful HIGH fashion modeling career? If you are going to model that is where the money and excitement is, if you can make it there without losing your soul.
However, I would be willing to bet these wonderful, beautiful, and talented young ladies have no desire to enter that world. YIKES!
@ Pamela…you can always be a “Charater” model. Look at all the print work for the different advertisements. These people are everyday looking people but they are models, just not “high” fashion, which is what everyone thinks of when the word “model” is used.
If you can afford it go get a “head Shot” and a comp card ,pictures of you doing different things i.e. laughing, drinking tea, standing on a ladder. Make it look like an ad. Then start sending it out to different agencies in your area. Put a “resume” together about your interest and what you are good at…example horseback riding, rollerblading,
With technology today it’s so easy to do yourself.
Both of these girls are beautiful. Way to go, First Love.
Elizabeth,
Thank you for proving that “The War On Women” is being waged by liberal women and men.
This video needs to be used as part of a Santorum ad campaign. Especially since it seems to have left the Santorum haters speechless.
Seriously, after American Prayer in ’08, Obama supporters could not possibly criticize even the most adulatory anthems in support of other political candidates. We might as well embrace the most outrageous, hagiographic ballads imaginable right off the bat.
With every songwriter out there nixing the use of their songs by Republican campaingns, I guess they have to come up with their own.
Rasqual, a ponytail, eh? If you have elbow patches on your jacket and smoke a pipe, you could pass for a Berkley professor!
I don’t care what anyone says, I think this is an adorable family and how fun that they all were in on the recording, even that cutie patootie with the blonde hair … what was she, about 5? Love it, thanks LauraLoo, I think I will share this video.
I think the thing that caught my eye the most in this video is that it was filmed in my home city. Well home away from home. My hometown is actually an hour away but I went to university in the city where it was filmed. They were actually on or very close to being on campus for part of the video. Yay Tulsa, Oklahoma! After seeing the Cityplex Towers (the three golden looking buildings in the background of some of the shots) for 5 years everyday, and even times before that when I just visited Tulsa, I would know those buildings anywhere.
You’re welcome Pam. Tyler found the video and passed it along to me. LauraLoo :D
My kids and I love this song. Not any other GOP candidate got a song or even a jingle!
That tells me how much Americans yearn for a true conservative.
Well done Harris family.
Great song and love that this went viral. Both young ladies are beautiful outside and probably inside as well. Love the energy of the video. Go Rick!!!
Hans: “Rasqual, a ponytail, eh? If you have elbow patches on your jacket and smoke a pipe, you could pass for a Berkley professor!”
Yikes. Berkley? Say it isn’t so. ;-)
Today during my long commute I had the window rolled down and the hair down too. DANG what a mess. That’s the last time I don’t pony with such a breeze.
Justice for the unborn; factories back on our shore. Rick Santorum is our man! There will be hope for our nation again! Let’s talk about what this song is really about – that Santorum will fight for the unborn (yeah!), that he will support drilling for oil (yeah!), thereby giving us lower gas prices; and that he will bring back made in the U.S.A. (factories) by lowering corporate & small business taxes. Amen! Enough of the kill our nation mentality by borrowing $$ from China our enemy, and cooperating with radical Islamic extremists. Let’s have some common sense and pick Rick!
