About 1:30 into this video you’ll see an O’Reilly Factor producer attempting an ambush-interview KS late-term abortionist George Tiller. Tiller called 911 and without hesitation said the producer was “preventing me from getting in my car and leaving,” such a silly lie since he was being videotaped.

Lots going on here. Here’s the history in a nutshell….

  • KS law only allows abortions past 21 weeks if two doctors agree the mother will suffer substantial and irreversiable damage to a major bodily function otherwise.
  • Last year, then-AG Phill Kline filed 30 criminal charges against Tiller, based on redacted (patient names omitted) records of allegedly illegal late-term abortions he committed.
  • Judge Paul Clark granted DA Nola Tedesco Foulston’s request to dismiss charges under dubious jurisdictional grounds. Tiller gave $ to both campaigns.
  • Kline lost the race to pro-abort Democrat Paul Morrison, mostly on Morrison’s charges Kline was engaged in a witch hunt against aborting women. Tiller fed Morrison’s campaign lots of cash.
  • In an interesting twist, Kline was appointed to the state attorney’s job Morrison vacated.
  • Before leaving office, Kline turned the case over to special prosecutor Don McKinney, who officially requested the state Supreme Court for an order to allow the case to continue.
  • Upon taking office, Morrison immediately fired McKinney and successfully petitioned the Supremes to dismiss McKinney’s request.
  • Two weeks ago the KS state legislature came thisclose to launching an investigation wih subpoena power of Tiller when Speaker Melvin Neufeld stopped it. He also blocked a House resolution to force Morrison to file criminal charges against Tiller.

  • Meanwhile, Democrat pro-abort Gov. Kathleen Sebelius vetoed a bill that would have reiterated current KS law requiring abortionists to report medical reasons for late-term abortions.
  • Two days ago psychiatrist Dr. Paul McHugh, who Kline had contracted to examine the redacted abortion records, went public, as you’ll see if you watch the entire O’Reilly clip. He said reasons Tiller cited for late-term abortions included wanting to go to a rock concert, worry the baby would not thrive, concern for direction of own future, and concern for own education. “These are not psychiatric ideas, they’re social,” said McHugh.
  • Under pressure, Morrison agreed to pursue the case but has dragged his feet. He’s not only in a Catch-22 position but also has taken campaign $ from Tiller. A spokesperson promised today a decision would come “by the end of June,” according to WorldNetDaily.com.
  • Tuesday night, Morrison issued McHugh a letter ordering McHugh not to speak about the case. Too late. Up to that time, no one from Morrison’s office had contacted McHugh.
