  • Big Blue Wave points out the reluctance of those on the pro-abortion side of the aisle to state whether or not the human fetus at 20 weeks is, in fact, a human being. First, Nancy Pelosi dodged the question, and then Democrat Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland (where late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart kills viable children for a living), claimed that whether or not a 20-week preborn child is human “is not a real issue.”

  • Wesley J. Smith discusses the latest culture of death idea. We’ve heard of “abortion doulas,” but what about death doulas? These individuals, according to two authors, would become “suicide facilitators” by “fill[ing] a gap between treatment doctors and hospice workers.”

  • At Life Training Institute, The Failed Atheist links to his excellent response to the viral UK video of a pregnant pro-choicer chastising Abort 67 pro-lifers for holding abortion victim images in front of an abortion facility. TFA responds to the woman’s arguments, such as, “It’s wrong to show abortion imagery because we don’t know why they are having an abortion,” “You’re a hypocrite because you’ve had an abortion,” and “Some of the women wanting an abortion may have been abused.”

  • Big Blue Wave discusses a Finnish study on reducing suicide risk following abortion. While most in the pro-choice camp deny there is any link at all to an increased risk of suicide, this study recommends a mental health checkup two to three weeks following an abortion. However, the study also noted that while this intervention may have been beneficial, the rate of reduction was not statistically significant.

  • Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life notes the worldwide concern over premature birth, as it remains “the leading cause of all under-five deaths.” But there is failure to recognize the fingerprints of abortion in this problem:

A wealth of worldwide research has established that induced abortion substantially increases the risk of preterm birth in subsequent pregnancies. For example, a 2009 systematic review published in BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology found that a history of one induced abortion increased the risk of preterm birth by 36% and increased the risk of low birth weight by 35%.

  • Down on the Pharm nominates NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado for the most ridiculous campaign ad this year (although it’s one of the dumbest I’ve ever heard). In their ad, they claim that if Republican Cory Gardner is elected, there will be a condom shortage. You have to hear it to believe it.
