Woo woo
“Dems urged to reach out to pro-life voters” is the title of an Associated Press piece today reporting on former Planned Parenthood board member and current Democrat chairman Howard Dean’s latest attempt to woo pro-lifers. His solution? “I think we need to talk about this issue differently,” he said.
Dr. Dean et al have come a little ways since November. At that time they decided they could no longer disparage or ignore us. But in their hearts it is clear they still think of us as dogs who will wag our tails and come back to them if they only “talk differently” to us.

Jill Stanek is a nurse turned speaker, columnist and blogger, a national figure in the effort to protect both preborn and postborn innocent human life.
And the talk about abortion from the Dems has changed ever since the 2004 election. I first heard Hillary speak of making abortion “rare,” but keeping it “safe” and legal. I think this is a lot of political-speak from a woman who wants to become President in 2008.
Howard Dean says he doesn’t know anybody in America who is pro-abortion? Maybe he should check with Planned Parenthood, the National Organization for Women, and NARAL.
Dems don’t need to “talk differently” – they need to think differently.
I’m not even sure he’s trying to woo us, specifically. I think he’s made it pretty clear in the past what he thinks of us. He’s only trying to replace a republican in PA with a Dem, and he’s trying to convince his base why they should vote for someone who doesn’t tow the party poor-choice line.
It really doesn’t have much to do with us lifers after all.
I had a conversation with some poor-choice, democrat friends of mine. I mention they are democrat because these are a group of people who are mainly poor choice because, well, republican’s are against abortion, that means they take the other side.
They adamentally insist that “no one is really ‘pro-abortion’, just for choosing what’s right for them.” I should also say that none of these people consider abortion their *main issue*, they all believe that abortion should be “safe, legal, and *rare*”. But in large part they don’t really pay much attention to the details or the latest debates regarding abortion. Only when it becomes big news- as it has since the Roberts nomination.
I think it really says a lot about Dean & the Dems, the same thing they’ve been saying for a while. They don’t think there’s anything wrong with their positions; they just need to change their vocabulary enough to sucker some dumb Red Staters into believing that they have changed. It’s maddening.
As a dumb Red Stater, I would like to state the following for the benefit of any Democrat leaders who might read this blog entry:
I do not care how you “talk about” abortion. I do not care which words you use. As long as you continue to support the legalized killing of innocent children, you will not have my vote. “Safe, legal, and rare” means NOTHING to me as long as it includes “legal”. I will write-in Mickey Mouse before I vote for someone who wants to continue allowing us to slaughter unborn children.
