Hi Jill,
after reading the words in the column, I get the impression that it is ‘a call to arms’. How reflective is this of a pro-life stance is questionable.
Many moons ago (when in college), there were many voices that reveled in the idea: “kill a commie for Christ.” I believe that Jesus is God and He did not destroy the Roman armies (though He could easily have done so).
By taking up arms to defeat an army (or any force) we make a mockery of our Faith. Well do you or don’t you believe in Jesus as the All-powerful (or are we ‘just helping Him out a tad’)?
abortion or any pro-life cause is not about politics … apathy is our enemy, just as it was for Jesus.

years ago I got ‘stuck’ here because there really was no alternative to the system worth voting for either. Was I then to join the majority and just ‘give up’…. not bother voting?
Then I thought of a system overhaul … it’s called a floating constitution. Every 50 years the ‘people’ choose the set of laws that will govern them for the next 50 years. [In the middle of that period (for the next 50 years) the ‘people’ choose an economic policy/strategy is initiated.]
There are all sorts of positive aspects to this … just one is improved inter-generation communication …. ie. “Hey Dad, what was your 50 like? How can it be ‘tweaked’ to improving for my 50?” … another BIG benefit is that the politicians remain servants of their people … fundamental change can only (usually) take place at the end of the 50.
