Planned Parenthood abortion mill “blessed”
Planned Parenthood Mohawk Hudson announced the blessing of its new 18k sq. ft. building, which includes a “surgical wing,” by press release, “On Sacred Ground – Blessing of the Building by Schenectady Clergy,” according to the Times Union blog.
Someone snapped a couple of photos of the clergy, although, I didn’t think images of these people showed up on pictures. Maybe I’m thinking of vampires.
A vampire blessing would have been more fitting, but they don’t come out during the day, even one as tempting as the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, January 22, when this blessing was held.
Speaking of which, the Times Union eeked a 438 word article on the March for Life, with crowd estimates anywhere from 100-250k, while lavishing 804 words to the PP blessing with “about three dozen” attendees. Plus that 127 word blog announcement. But I’m just getting picky. Back to the blessing. Quoting the TU:
[T]he Rev. Larry Phillips of Schenectady’s Emmanuel-Friedens Church declared the ground “sacred and holy … where women’s voices and stories are welcomed, valued and affirmed; sacred ground where women are treated with dignity, supported in their role as moral decision-makers … sacred ground where the violent voices of hatred and oppression are quelled.”…
The Rev. Abby Norton-Levering… [said], “We pray that you will make this a place of safety and give a sense of sanctuary.”…
The Rev. Bill Levering, senior pastor of First Reformed Church of Schenectady, said the right to privacy is endowed by God….
“Even God respects the right of privacy. We make women into children when we say they cannot control their own bodies,” Levering said.
Phillips led everyone outside where they laid their hands on the brick and limestone as the minister declared, “This is sacred ground.”

Are you sure there was a march? There was something on EWTN, but that only spanned a four-lane avenue and was only four or five city blocks long.

Is this a Christian church or what religious denomination is it?
If I sneezed I bet I could say the name of that church. Maybe that’s how they came up with the name.
I didn’t see the “March for Life” mentioned any of the “Big Three” or news networks.
Bill O’Reilly didn’t even mention it.
This may be true, Laura..but Law & Order SVU and Boston Legal both had abortion/life related issues on their episodes on the Roe v. Wade anniversary. I guess it’s still an important topic.

God gave us the 10 commandments and the Golden Rule. I believe Don’t murder was one of the commandments and I sure as heck don’t want to be torn limb for limb when I’m at my most vulnerable.
How could your life remain “private” when God still knows what you did?

Ahhh, got it. Heh, I thought that Jill was implying that these were actual pictures from the ceremony and I was rather confused.
Radical pro-lifers:

“We don’t want clergy praying for women to be safe if they make a bad decision.”
What’s next?
“We don’t want babies to be born if they’re just going to grow up and become ungrateful pro-aborts.”

REGARDLESS, it’s still an issue that makes it onto tv..whether in the news or as plots for tv shows..guess it’s not this minor issue you make it out to be..that’s the only point I was making.

I’m just pointing out that the pro-life community seems like it they are always saying they just want to pray and now they have the oppertunity to and they get very upset about it.

Well, Jess…I have never said any of those things…and haven’t personally heard many PLer’s on here say anything of the sort.
You’ve been here long enough to see that there are quite a few of us who are kind and really WANT to help. Not just criticize.
I don’t quite understand why you always want to associate us with radicals when you know that many of us are genuinely good people.
The first was from that Nellie Gray, who founded the March For Life. She refused to let homosexuals participate and when some showed up to march she had them arrested. And the second was my impression from this article.
I knew about the Nellie Gray one…I would like a little bit better explanation about it because it didn’t say much about it on wikipedia, so I’m not gonna jump to judgement on it.
As for your interpretation…I don’t really understand it..but perception is different for everyone I suppose.
I don’t understand how someone can be pro-life and not like kids.

I was at the Supreme Court as the front of the March for Life passed by. I stayed up there for a good half hour, then made my way back towards the Russell Senate building (another 15-20 minutes going against the flow of the crowd), where I was able to see down the length of Constitution (from the exterior stairs/landing). The tail end of the march was somewhere past the 4th St/Constitution Ave/Pennsylvania Ave intersection. Much much much much longer than four or five blocks. The anti-war demo in February 2007 was 5 blocks long (I was there), and this year’s March for Life was several times larger in size.

Midnite, studies show that pregnancy will also lower your chances of getting ovarian cancer, (and doesn’t have side effects like blood clots or heart attacks)…. ;-)
I have also read that caffeine will lower your risk of ovarian cancer, as will living in a sunnier region, eating fish, and vegetable with the chemicals alpha carotene and lycopene…and taking Ginkgo…

An example the bias and complete lack of objectivity I have come to expect from the “entertainment” industry.
I remember one episode of “Law and Order” that was so full of pro-life stereotypes and had such a ridiculous plot to match, that the whole show was laughable. With all the religious artifacts and the 50,000 nuns, you might almost guess the religious affiliation of the main pro-life character. The pro-life perpetrators left a trail of evidence a mile wide and two miles long. The Three Stooges would have been more appropriate as the investigators considering the whole “plot” was so laughable, and they wouldn’t have taken as long to solve it.
Someone should tell the “entertainment” industry that stereotypes can be a tad overdone, to the point of insulting people’s intelligence.
Mary: What you just said in your above post is precisely why I don’t watch TV anymore. Pretty much everything that’s aired IS an insult to our intelligence.

LOL…Bethany…although pregnancy may have that effect, eclampsia, gestational diabetes, and hypertension(the latter of which causes heart attacks) are prevalent in pregnancy…none of which are very pleasant and are dangerous. I’d rather be on the pill with a slightly higher risk of blood clots (especially since I’m in the lowest risk group for those complications), than immediately put myself in a much higher risk position in pregnancy (plus being pregnant to begin with isn’t always a pleasant condition). All in all, I think I’ll take the pill over pregnancy to reduce my ovarian cancer chance. :P
