  1. And people wonder why Syphilis, Gonorrhea and Chlamydia have hit an all time high in reported numbers in recent years.
Condoms don’t protect against all STD’s. But, hey, who cares…as long as everyone Get’s Some, right?
We are slowly killing our children. If not by abortion then we’ll get them by telling them sex is safe when it isn’t and turn our backs when STD’s become an epidemic.

  2. I’m not having sex on valentines day. I’m going out to eat with my parents then I’m studying for a quiz. My boyfriend did give me a beautiful rose and thoughtful card and a huge box of chocolate (granted he ate most of it after I opened it) it was really sweet. And he brought Smoothie Bottoms over again!

They do? I thought most people knew by now that unprotected sex spreads disease.

If you’re going to have sex, you might as well use a condom and make it as safe as possible. I know I would not want to go without sex.

Nonsense! The population continues to rise, births continue to outnumber abortions, and life expectancies are getting longer and longer.

Clearly, we’re not turning our backs. Just look at NYC, giving out free condoms and even advertising them with really cool commercials. They’re not content to just sit around and watch the STDs spread; they’re doing something about it.

  4. Reality –
“Nonsense! The population continues to rise, births continue to outnumber abortions, and life expectancies are getting longer and longer. ”
According to the CDC and Gutmacher Institute NYC had 91,673 abortions in 2004. In 2005 NYC had the lowest birth rate in a 25 years. There were 122,725 births. They are getting very close to having more abortions than births.
“If you’re going to have sex, you might as well use a condom and make it as safe as possible. I know I would not want to go without sex. ”
Condoms protect against STD’s that are spread by bodily fluids ONLY. STD’s that are spread by skin to skin contact, like genital warts, are still spread even if a condom is used.
That is why Syphilis, Gonorrhea and Chalydia are on the rise with no sign of declining. Because everyone, like you, think they are safe when they use a condom but that is the furthest thing from the truth.

  5. Jess,
Your bf sounds like a sweetie.
I dislike this day because, well, I don’t have a significant other.
Everything else about is cool though..the candy, presents, etc. I’ll buy em’ for myself.

  6. Here is a little Valentine’s Day poem I found on the internet that I think y’all might enjoy:
There was a young man of Black Bay
Who thought syphilis just went away,
    And felt that a chancre
    Was merely a canker
    Acquired in lascivious play.
Now first he got acne vulgaris,
The kind that is rampant in Paris,
    It covered his skin
    From forehead to shin,
And now people ask where his hair is.
    With symptoms increasing in number,
His aorta’s in need of a plumber,
    His heart is cavorting,
    His wife is aborting,
And now he’s acquired a gumma.
    Consider his terrible plight–
His eyes won’t react to to the light
    His hands are apraxic,
    His gait is ataxic,
    He’s developing gun-barrel sight.
His passions are strong, as before,
But his penis is flaccid, and sore,
    His wife now has tabes
    And sabre-shinned babies–
She’s really worse off than a whore.
He aches from his head to his toes,
His sphincters have gone where who knows,
    Paroxysmal incontinence
    With all its concomitants,
    Brings forth unpredictable flows.
Though treated in every known way,
His spirochetes grow day by day,
    He’s developed paresis
    Converses with Jesus
And thinks he’s the Queen of the May.

  7. It sounds like a hip campaign with a positive message, and for some reason, it reminds me of the hilarious Andy Samberg/Justin Timberlake SNL music video, “Bleep in a Box.”

  8. reminds me that sex and the city episode where they go to a friend’s baby shower who they weren’t too excited to see. When Carrie asks Miranda what she got her, she said “condoms.” Carrie says, “really.” And she goes, “really. They’re pastel.”

  9. @Doug: I didn’t write it. Some medical students back in the 30’s or 40’s did. :)
I just thought it was bloody clever.

Indeed, Ari-chan, I meant whoever wrote it,and Bravo to you for posting it. I doubt you’re that old anyway ; )
