Okay…I know it’s nature and all that…but I was SO happy when the baby got up and went back into the herd!!! It was pretty painful for me to watch the middle of that video… I hate to see anything in pain, especially babies of any sort!!!

No doubt. Nothing beats “His Cheeseburger.”
Take note the ‘predators’ targeted the young buffalo because it was ‘weak’. Then the opportunistic croc moved in hoping to exploit the situation. The herd was operating out of fear.
Who knows maybe the croc’s intervention was the deciding factor in the survival of the calf. Sometimes your ‘enemy’s bad motive may work to your advantabe. It gave the herd just a little more time to overcome their fear. Maybe the herd even learned from observation that the ‘predators’ responded to fear.
If the strong do not act when they have the opportunity then they will become the prey sooner or later.
Deliver those who are drawn away to death, and those who totter to the slaughter, hold them back [from their doom]. If you [profess ignorance and] say, Behold, we did not know this, does not He Who weighs and ponders the heart perceive and consider it? And He Who guards your life, does not He know it? I’ve seen this before, thought it was awesome then. It’s awesome now, too. Those lions certainly had no darn clue what they were doing. Haha.
Not to be the big party pooper, but the calf probably ended up dying anyway from the wounds inflicted during the confrontations. Water buffalos do not have antibiotics.

So I know a few songs from Veggie Tales, but I”m not too farmiliar with it. I thought it was a predominantly Christian themed show, but I haven’t really sensed that from songs like the Pirates and His Cheeseburger (not that there’s anything wrong with those songs). Is anyone pretty farmiliar with it? Is it fairly Christian themed? Perhaps it would be a good thing to expose my children to?
Yes Bobby. Get the whole set!! The part with the songs is called Silly Songs with Larry. The rest of the shows are biblically based but they take hilarious liberties with the stories. David and Goliath is called Dave and the Giant Pickle.
They are a must have. :)

Bobby I know there’s one song called “God is bigger than the boogey man” so I’d say Veggie Tales is very safe. My sister had Veggie Tales videos when her kids were much younger.
I even own “Jonah, a Veggie Tales Movie” on DVD.
I know they even did a parody of Lord of the Rings called Lord of the Beans…..

Veggie Tales is genius. They take Bible stories and translate them into cartoons to teach moral lessons. Like David didn’t want an affair with Bathsheba- he wanted the rubber ducky he saw, and sent the ducky’s owner off to the “great pie war” where they get attacked by flying blueberry pies so that he can cover up his stealing the ducky.
The stories are complete with “silly songs” about all sorts of things, all of which are hilarious. Gianna would love all of them. *I* love all of them!
