oh Bethany, that is just priceless! And look at the size of those guys in the video. What a bunch of wusses!
I wonder how Bobby manages?
I was just about to say! What a bunch of wimps! I change Gianna’s diaper every day, and never once have I gagged like that. How disgraceful.
And seriously, who doesn’t love the smell of baby poop which is the result of an all breast milk diet? It’s so sweet. I get to smell it again in only 2 more months! Yippee!
yeah, breast milk stools are just fine.
Even when they start eating solids and are still nursing, it’s still fine.
And breastfed babies smell so sweet. Literally!
Bobby, you’re a saint! ;]
Can’t they do what I do? :)
1.Hold your breath. OR
2.Breathe through your mouth.
3.Move at lightening speed to attain and hold the world’s record in diapering. Speed. I am Speed.
all I can say, is thank goodness, it is us women who have the babies.
I can’t imagine what a man would do!!
I never changed a diaper till after our third daughter was born. All 5 of our children were breast fed so I did not get too involved in the feeding part either.
New husbands and fathers, encourage breast feeding.
I found the best way to deal with poopy butts was to put them in the bath tub and use the hand held shower thingy in the pulse mode. I called it hydroblasting.
The kids did not seem to mind as long as I got the temperature right. They tolerated the hydroblasting a lot better than those cold wet wipes.
Bleach and more hot water sterilized the tub when the process was complete.
I remember the days of cloth diapers. My mom washing them and hanging on the clothes line to dry.
What did women do before the days of washing machines?
Seems pregnancy was the easy part of mothering/parenting. All the real labor begins after the birth.
yor bro ken
I changed a lot of diapers in my day. I never had a problem with it. Bobby, did I miss something? Are you guys having another baby?
Used to change the diapers all the time. No big deal.
Dangerous part with boys – need to keep a loose cloth diaper ready in case they fountain. (Always change at arms length.)
Also important – if they seriously scrunch up their face while the diaper is off – cover them up. One of my kids shot one right across the room. My wife and I laughed so loud, the baby cried!
Hey Bobby – Hal’s right – did we miss something?
This reminds me of a nice video I uploaded to a prolife site, it’s called “Cure for a bad day”:

Yeah, I guess I didn’t really make a public announcement here on Jill’s. We are indeed due on May 1. Another wonderful little girl, who we have nicknamed Little Miss Blueberry, or Blueberry, because when we learned about her, she was the size of a blueberry. Woo hoo!
Chris, with boys, someone once told me that it’s the sudden exposure to cold air that sets them off — which explains why they always seem to wait until right when the diaper’s off. It was recommended to me that I undo the diaper, then wait a few seconds with it loosely undone but still technically on. It served the dual purpose of allowing for a more gradual temperature change, and having a shield should the worst happen. Once the coast looks clear, continue.
It worked, too! I rarely got sprayed after that.
Bobby, that is so cute! Congratulations, officially.
Alexandra,
Glad I learned that in the nick of time with 3 boys!! :)

Awww!!! :) Congrats, Bobby, to you and your wife!! That’s awesome.
Carla, you made me LOL with your “Speed, I am Speed” comment. :D
Congratulations Bobby. What wonderful news!
Congrats Bobby!!!!
Haha. Changing diapers isn’t bad at all. What wimps. :)

CONGRATS to you and your wife, Bobby! Hmmm. Today is March 19th (Feast of St Joseph) and the due date is May 1st (Memorial to St Joseph the worker). Coincidence or a little signal grace?
Oh My I can’t tell you how much I need this right now. I have tears streaming down my face. Thanks for putting this clips up.
Congrats, Bobby! That’s wonderful news.
And yes, Steven had a good laugh at what wusses they were. He said that’s nothing compared to the time Arielle (3) had stomach flu and he had to clean up this nasty, yellow, runny mess… he’s getting her clean, she looks down at the pullups and then smiles at him and says, “Daddy, I like yellow!”
He called me at work just to tell me that one… and every now and then one of us, out of nowhere will say, “I like yellow” and then we’ll both bust a gut laughing.
Oh My…I can’t tell you how much I needed this right now. Thanks for putting these clips up!
Congratulations Bobby!
Oh, I laughed so hard at this video. My hubby was like this with #1 but by #6 he was a pro!
Me and the wife would sometimes rate the poops.
The worst kind we called ‘the ka-ka deluxe’…an explosion…those ones were not fun to clean up.
Infant diapers aren’t bad, for the most part. However, our first was a little anemic at 9 months, so we had to start giving iron drops (which she hated, and so did we). That stuff made her diapers smell so bad, we felt bad for the guys at the diaper service we used. I don’t know that it was as bad as the predigested formula that some kids need, but she could still clear the room.
Of course, now with infant #3, we generally know when she is done and have only had 2-3 incidents in the ~3 months she’s been born. But we certainly had our share with the first.
And Bobby, let me ring in with the congratulations! I’ll pray that you and your wife manage these last 6 weeks.
