New and improved site!
Ok, the renovated site is obviously live!
Now we’re looking for bugs to tweak, which we’ll be working on over the weekend.
For instance, Kelli and I agree the font size on the posts is too large. Etc., etc., etc.
Let me know what you think!
It’s a PC thing – the fonts on a PC are often larger than the size on the Mac. :-)
Ok, the font is now a little smaller. What do you think?
Okay – looks better – just a tad smaller.
Most long-time commenters will forget to enter the code letter like I just did.
I really like it. Easy to navigate and I like the colors.
Very well done.
Yes, I’ve done that 3x now, which is frustrating because you lose your post. I’ve asked our designer to highlight that instruction.
(I just did it again when submitting this comment! Sheesh!)
The new site looks great! And the new background and fonts are easier to read. All that I suggest, based on that I myself and an increasing number of people view websites from mobile devices is that the layout is friendly to mobile readers.
wow! I”m speechless!
For example, tables instead of frames, variable font sizes (depending on the device), and minimal embeded multimedia (which may cause the browser to freeze or the page to not load), just for some ideas. Thanks!
I’m NOT finding this easy to navigate. Might just be me, but I can’t figure out how to get from one post to the previous one without going back to the main listing.
Clicking ‘Archives’, ‘Team’, ‘Top Blogs’, etc. opens up a list. I suggest a second click on the subject-title closes the list.
Are you dropping all of the Barack Obama talking points?
Previewing a comment before posting empties the ‘Comment’ field. The comment should remain in the field for the user to make modifications.
‘Blog’, ‘Bio’, ‘Speaking Schedule’, etc. tabs don’t change to reflect which tab the user is currently reading. In I.E. 7 the thin black line below the tab doesn’t change. It’s stuck on BLOG. In Firefox there is no black line.
Love that there is no spam coming in!
I like big fonts. Makes things easier to read.
LOve, love, love this new design!
I didn’t like it at first, but it is growing on me. I miss the graphic, wasn’t it like an EKG? that was on top of the old site. It tied in with the pulse thing.
Nice job everyone! The site looks great.
Jill,
how come the right side of the screen is blank? other than that, it looks great..
No, I’ve been looking at the font on a Mac the whole time and it was still too big. :D

Cranky, I suggested that, too. Was kind of surprised it wasn’t already set up that way. I guess I’m spoiled. :P

Ah. Yep, you’re right. There’s no “previous post” and “next post” links like there were before. Those were handy. :)
I love it! RJ
Jill,
I think it looks great, and the larger font doesn’t bother me. I’d rather have type that’s big enough to read without squinting. Congrats on the new design layout.
This new look is awesome! I think it is easier to read and doesn’t look as cluttered – I even think all the information is still there!
Great job.
LOVE THE NEW SITE!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep up the great work!

ps. Link Exchange?
Hey, this is nice! :D
Looks great!
Very soothing and easy on the eye.
Maybe I won’t be so mean to Hal now?
Love ya Hal……..
Jill:
I would add posts that had “Most Comments”.

Thanks all for input. Working on suggestions.
Totally off topic.
The Stoning of Soraya M. opens this weekend in theaters across the US. A friend of mine is the producer. He also produced Bella. This is a true story.

I can’t believe it…there is NO SPAM!! Woohoo!!
Oh, dear, what will I do with all my time now? LOL Kidding…
Looking good. Font size fine (don’t make it smaller). Keep up the good work, Jill.

The font size has already been changed, as of yesterday. Looks good now. :)
Looks great. Love the look and feel of the blog as well. Great job!
I second Kelli’s comment – NO SPAM!! Woohoo!! :)
“Latest Comments” with numbers is really nice!
“Most read”
When? Today? Since the blog started?
Janet, the last 2 weeks, but it’s still a little messed up, showing a combo of all-time and most recent.
Really like the new site. One thing though, I’m not that proficient at using HTML tags for style. I’ve reviewed the steps and it looks a little cumbersome.
I’ve posted on another site, http://www.40yearoldatheist.com, and he’s got a few very convenient buttons for Bold, Italics, Underline, Hyperlinks…
Just thought I’d mention it in case you wanted to check it out and see how much work it would be to incorporate these style features.
Have a great day!
Great suggestion, Ed. Will check into that.
Jill @ 8:35,
Thanks.
Opening the site seems slower than usual. I have a Mac, if that matters….
Happy Sunday everyone.
Hi Jill,
Regarding your new website, I am impressed.
Jill,
I went to the Atheist website and he doesn’t use the buttons anymore. I’m thinking that there may be an incremental cost for having that additional functionality and he probably couldn’t justify it. It doesn’t look like he’s been getting many hits / posters recently (probably a good thing).
I’ve always been impressed with his site layout and organization though – and now you’re right with him!
Speaking schedule still lists “winter/spring” dates, the last of which is May 15.
John Jansen,
Thanks for posting a link on your web site to: “Physicians’ statement that abortion is never necessary to save the mother’s life” at the American Life League website.
http://www.all.org/article.php?id=10682
Do you know why it is “updated to August ’07” and not more recently?
Here’s the statement for those interested:
ACTION INITIATIVE | 18 – DOCS |
? Declaration: Protecting the Life of the Mother: List
by ALL
Released December 20, 2005
This declaration was created by the public policy department of American Life League, Inc. It was circulated to members of the medical and scientific communities for review and endorsement. The physicians listed below have all signed statements of agreement with the declaration. Their signed statements are on file at American Life League, P.O. Box 1350, Stafford, VA 22555
I agree that there is never a situation in the law or in the ethical practice of medicine where a preborn child’s life need be intentionally destroyed by procured abortion for the purpose of saving the life of the mother. A physician must do everything possible to save the lives of both of his patients, mother and child. He must never intend the death of either.
Great new look! Glad to see it.
