Stanek at Grand Traverse Area RTL banquet

Last night I grandly kicked off my fall speaking schedule at the Grand Traverse Area Right to Life banquet in MI’s beautiful upper peninsula. I must say I like this photo, by the Traverse City Record-Eagle. I’m describing the baby I held at Christ Hospital only 10 years ago, believe it or not. Seems like a lifetime ago…

Here’s the Record-Eagle’s related story….

There were over 700 people in attendance, a very nice event. I was happy to catch up with friends Barbi Aumiller of MI RTL and Marie Hahnenberg of American Life League.
I love MI RTL banquets. So well done. Last night Brian Cusack announced its new research and media project, “The Great Disconnect,” to figure out why so many people acknowledge that abortion is murder but still condone or commit it.
I’m off in a few minutes to speak to a Catholic high school assembly (sorry, don’t know the name yet) and then will fly home. Hope the Windy City isn’t as windy as it was yesterday taking off!

  1. Hi Jill
I agree that this picture clearly shows your prolife passion!
Just think what would have been if the mom had let her baby live 10 years ago. :(
What lucky students to be able to hear you speak! I can’t imagine the Catholic school in which I work, allowing a prolife speaker to come in. A global warming expert or spokesperson for the homeless – yes. Never a prolife advocate.
    God bless you.

  2. Jill – for a moment, when I first saw the photo I thought you were praying!
    Beautiful rim-lighting – very dramatic.
The Great Disconnect – excellent. Despite doing careful research, I think ultimately it will come down to the deceitful heart of man. Each of us desires power more than Life.
The true travesty here is that many who call Jesus Lord and Savior are willfully disobedient in defending those defenseless and innocent.
    Matthew 7:21-23 comes to mind.

  3. I hate to be a jerk, but as a native Michigander, the upper peninsula is actually that giant land mass above the mitten, so Traverse city is still in the lower peninsula, though the north part of the UP.
But yes, Traverse City is gorgeous! :)

  4. Jill. Very dramatic photo–and in light of what you do (for all of us) stunning and beautiful. You are beautiful. Thank you!
