WOW. What a powerful picture and statement. This is right on target.
Absolutely outstanding, thought provoking ad.
Need to get this one out there.
Well…I think it could use “thought bubbles”. Some people might not get that the second statement is supposed to be coming from the baby. Just looks like the girl is saying the same thing twice. *just my opinion*
It did take me a second, but it’s very profound.
Carla,
Great find. I would love to see this in Seventeen Magazine or a similar magazine targeted to teens. What are the chances? Probably slim to none.
Carla,
Do you know …did Tina Maher create this picture? Do we need her permission to email it to family, friends? It would be a great conversation starter for Moms with their daughters and vice-versa.
Well I have to admit that I did not get it.
Wow!
Please listen to this song .. “The Voice from Within” by Darillyn Patterson
It goes directly with this illustration
Janet, I agree it would be good in teen magazines. Sadly, many of them are pro-abortion.
I have to admit I did not get it at first
Lauren I disagree. I believe most teen are prolife.
It’s when they get into university and get brainwashed that their views change.
What an amazing and powerful picture. I think it would be even more powerful if the young girl had more of a “baby bump”, just to make it look more obvious that she’s pregnant. Still a very sobering message.
Wow! However, I’ve just commented on the cartoon of President Obama raping freedom. How is the message of this cartoon any more tasteful? Is murder any less violent than rape?
I had to take a second look at the cartoon before I understood it. Then I kicked myself for having not understood right away. I think the fact that the message is less obvious helps to challenge our assumptions. It becomes more effective.
Hi Janet,
Feel free to share.
There is a share button on facebook and Tina has a prolife quote of the day too, usually with images.
This one really got to me. So I shared. :)
To me the photo reminds me of just finding out and not knowing what to do and that first gut reaction of shock.
