Quote of the Day 4-12-10
Congressman Stupak has been targeted by the general right-wing movement in this country, which is using the abortion issue along with many other stoked-up false fears about health reform. The aim of that movement, or at least those who are encouraging it and funding much of it, is to elect enough Republicans to undo regulations and subsidies that businesses and rich people want destroyed.
Mr. Stupak’s departure will hurt Democrats a bit, because they probably cannot hold the district. But it is a story of one legislator who does not want to be threatened in this ongoing war, which is not a war about abortion at all.
~Theda Skocpol, a professor of government and sociology at Harvard University, as quoted by the NY Times, April 12.

A good example of just how ignorant some people who consider themselves “learned” can be.
“stoked-up false fears” ~ Sheesshh. It is in the bill. In Black & White…
Another stunning example of a human who has been educated beyond her/his intelligence and/or is a liar.
I am not naive or foolish enough to believe that most americans are as conservative as the Tea Party folks, neither the original people who dumped the tea into Boston Harbor or todays Tea Partiers who want to dump B.O. hellth scare into the harbor.
But B.O. and his fellow democRATS have managed to energize even moderates (Now that takes some extra special talent.) and these folks may challenge the liberal/progressives to a duel just as soon as they decide what kind of pillows to use.
missy Theda Skocpol, humans are stupid but you take it to a new level. I am grateful you appear to be beyond you fertile years and I am hopeful that out of devotion or at least deference to your goddess, you have not further muddied up the gene pool by reproducing.
yor bro ken
Congressman Stupak has been targeted by the general right-wing movement…
NARAL and PP pledged to unseat him. The White House and Dem leadership pressured him to change his vote. Yup, sounds like a right-wing conspiracy to me.
She is a good inducement to send your kids to Harvard.
“…ongoing war, which is not a war about abortion at all.”
Hmmm…if it’s not about abortion, I wonder what this Harvard professor think it’s all about?
*GASP* You mean, We’ve been going to all those prayer rallies and protests at PP for more than 3 years now for something “other” than abortion???
She is proof that knoweldge puffs up but loves builds up.
