Quote of the Day 4-9-10
I’m deeply interested in working toward the legalization of polymarriage here in the U.S., because in an equilateral poly group, how do you decide who marries who? Like it or not, marriage confers a certain stamp of legitimacy on relationships in our culture, and it would be terribly hurtful to have to say, “This pair out of the relationship is the “real” one, the legitimate one, and everyone else is legally an afterthought.”
And while I’m living monogamously with my fiance for the moment, we have talked it over, and we’ve decided that if or when we meet the right woman, and she’s amenable, we would be willing to open our relationship into a triad.
I found I was much happier and more comfortable in a mostly- or nearly-equilateral triad than in a situation with multiple independent relationships, or a deeply imbalanced triad; that’s just what works best for me. So I very much hope that the Universe allows me another chance to experience that happiness in my life.

Ummm…..??? What….???
What planet did THAT come from?
And OF COURSE the man would be happy to bring another woman into the family!!! What man wouldn’t???
Try suggesting including another man into the relationship instead!!! Hahahaha! Would love to see the guy’s face!!!
It was polygamy that almost prevented the state of Utah from becoming a state. This man is insane. Sounds like he doesn’t “love” his fiance at all.
A real man would NOT bring another woman into a household! Unless its a mother in law who was widowed or homeless.
I have conflicted opinions about polygamy mainly because the “when we find another woman.” It’s always a woman. I read up on the Texan polygamy sect and how women are treated in polygamy…it’s misogynistic. It’s about male dominance over women. On the other hand, some women who are in polygamous relationships swear that it’s not sexist, but it’s always followed with a, “I’m happy to be one of his gals,” and I have to hold myself back from saying, “You’re no one’s gal.”
Some people genuinely want to be just another wife, one of many. I don’t get that but is it misogyny or is it that some women genuinely want that?
My head hurts.
This human has copulated her/his brains out.
This kind of gibberish used to be reserved for dialoge in black and white ‘B’ grade scifi/horror fliks.
Hopefully that spaceship for whom she/he is expectantly waiting will stop only long enough to beam her/him up and then continue on their Fantasy Island/Love Boat journey to the end of the rainbow where all those virgins are still waiting for the much ballyhooed muslim martyrs to arrive and carry them away on their white horses.

Sex addiction does make one nutty.
@Phil Schembri:
And it seems that everyone is a sex addict today. Celebrities are showing us that it isn’t cheating, it’s an addiction!
I’m going to see how my boyfriend feels about us adding another man into our relationship. I’m sure that would fly, right?
“Hey, hunny, meet (insert male name here). I was thinking… maybe he could be my other boyfriend? Now, before you get upset, don’t worry, I want you included in our relationship, too. I want you guys to get along! That’s why I’m not hiding the relationship (insert male name here) and I have from you!”
Yeah, I can see that going over well.
My very first job while I was still high school age was at a local Quiznos. My supervisor lived in an apartment with her boyfriend… and his other girlfriend. I never understood how she could be alright with her boyfriend having another girlfriend. Maybe it’s just me… maybe I’m just not open minded enough… maybe I’m too possessive. I know that wouldn’t go over well in my home, though.
Polygamy is a logistic nightmare when it comes to legal stuff. If you’re in a relationship with someone and have to bring in another person to meet your emotional needs, then the first relationship is seriously flawed.
And thanks for contributing to the stereotype of bisexual people who are incapable of monogamy, whatever-your-name-is.
Vita and Vannah,
My thoughts were pretty similar to yours about this. What if they meet the “right” MAN and he’s “amenable”? Huh? I bet that wouldn’t fly now would it. But “we” are automatically looking for a WOMAN. Imagine that…
Wonder how it made his fiancee REALLY feel inside when he brought it up. She might have agreed just to keep his worthless, slimy, disgusting behind around (“love” makes women do crazy things sometimes, including trying to hold onto a slimeball)…
Blech. At least “Deviant” was an appropriate component of that blog’s name in this case.
