Quote of the Day 5-28-10
Another saying of Dr. Tiller’s, that I’ve meditated on numerous times since his assassination is this, “The only requirement for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.” This is why, in the darkest, bleakest hours, we must continue moving forward, one step at a time, one woman at a time, until we achieve equality for all people of this land.
We love you Dr. Tiller and thank you for being a leader and a beacon of light.
~ Julie Burkhart, one of late-term abortionist George Tiller’s former staffers, as quoted by RH Reality Check, May 26.

Tiller did not say that. Edmund Burke did. And given that his opposition to the French Revolution was based, in large part, on the mass murder perpetrated by its members, he would likely be furious that people are trying to use his words to prop up a system of institutionalized mass murder now.
…Hm, at least, it’s attributed to Burke, and has been since 1943. Even assuming the attribution is wrong, whoever’s quote it is, it’s certainly not Tiller’s.
“The only requirement for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.”
Very true. Which is why many good people will continue to work to end abortion, instead of sitting back and doing nothing :)
Hmm, ‘beacon of light’ ?
God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him [yes, even ushering at church] yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1:5-7 [commentary mine]
Former Tiller employee Luhra Tivis’ testimony: I saw many unforgettable things in that clinic. One of them, however, is etched into my mind. I sat at my computer in a small room just off the main reception office. Dr. Tiller came up from the basement (the surgery room where the babies were delivered was in the basement) with a large cardboard box in his arms.
He evidently didn’t want to walk through the crowded waiting room, so he ducked into the front office, walked past behind me, and into a short hallway. He called out to me to come and help him open a door. He handed me the key and I unlocked it for him as he shifted the heavy box in his arms. As he opened the door, I saw within a full sized crematorium oven, exactly the same as used in funeral homes. As he shut the door and I walked back to my desk, I realized that the heavy box he was carrying was full of dead babies. As I sat down at my desk, I could hear him firing up the oven. In only moments, the smell of burning flesh permeated my office.
Why would anyone do such horrible things? Dr. Tiller did approximately 15 to 24 third trimester abortions per week for almost thirty years.
Why would anyone do this? Money, and a sick, twisted sense of power over weaker and vulnerable others as he served the god of this world. We know his agenda. In John 10:10, Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
Now, back to that ‘beacon of light’ comment. Lucifer, from the latin lucem ferre, means light bearer. That sounds more like the light one could associate with Tiller.
After posting my earlier comment, it said it needed to be approved by the blog owner. Help?
Klynn73, awesome post at 9:23. I couldn’t have said it better.
” until we achieve equality for all people of this land.

Honestly….do these idiots ever listen to themselves???
‘equality for all people’ includes PRE-BORN people.
She should have just said “we must move forward, killing one child at a time, maiming one woman at a time..” Then her little speech might have made more sense…MIGHT have.
What an evil man.
I wonder, did he cackle like satan himself as he threw the precious little babies’ bodies into the furnace?
Did he breathe in deeply the sweet sickening stench of the burning flesh of his victims?
Did he feel a sense of relief as the evidence of his horrific crimes against humanity was incinerated – the bodies of precious innocent little babies – like so much trash?
It is not impossible, but highly unlikely, that his heart was converted before he died.
Only God knows.
However, like any of us, only the Precious Blood of Christ could spare him from an eternity of torment.
That quote has been attributed to so many people it makes me crazy. I believe Keli Hu is correct and it was initially a Burke quote, but I’ve heard it attributed to Hitler, to Churchill, to Stalin, and now to Dr. Tiller. Apparently, along with being a mass murderer, George Tiller was unoriginal.
Julie Burkhardt:
“This is why, in the darkest, bleakest hours, we must continue moving forward, one step at a time, one woman at a time, until we achieve equality for all people of this land.”
This is a confusing statement to me. What equality? When will it finally be achieved? How does this relate to late-term abortion, exactly?
Calling the movement ‘pro-choice’ rather than ‘pro-murder’ is like calling a ‘strip joint’ a ‘gentlemen’s club’.
~ Praxedes
If women require surgery to be equal with men, then gender equality is unreachable.

So many evil people claiming such a quote as their own, when it was a good man that originally said it. Burke truly did fight for equality for all. He even tried to fight for Irish freedom, but was removed from office for that.
Hitler massacred those who weren’t blonde, blue-eyed, and willing to submit to his command. Churchill massacred the Irish, especially Irish Catholics, who dared rise up against the English dictatorship. Stalin massacred those who didn’t agree with him. Tiller massacred innocent unborn children.
I highly doubt Burke would have been for using something he said for the massacre of innocents in any situation. It’s beyond sickening these people would use the words of a good man for their own evil purposes.
