I was directed here by a friend’s facebook page. Unlike most people, I think it’s important to read points of view that you don’t agree with. I believe that is the only hope for people of good will to find common ground.
I respect your right to your beliefs, all I ask is that you try to speak of facts, not rhetoric. Unless, of course, you are not interested in the truth, which is your right as well.
So, Liz, no “evidence” is ever destroyed. When young girls are raped by their family members or others, the medical staff are often the mandated reporter to the police. They also testify in court on behalf of the victims. Abused women are referred to safe havens.
Planned Parenthood offers many counseling and pregnancy prevention services, not just abortions.
Planned Parenthood, as well as other medically licensed facilities, follow laws and protocols just like any other outpatient medical facilities.
No one is pro-abortion. Everyone wishes they weren’t necessary. But there are times that they are – like it or not.
It’s about respecting a woman’s right to make decisions about her own life and health, without being impeded by strangers that don’t know or care about her.
Working in these facilities takes a tremendous emotional toll on the people that work there. It’s difficult to constantly bear witness to the miseries of our society. It’s stressful to worry that you’re going to be shot.
What would you do with all these unwanted children, anyway? Do you care what kind of life they would have or do you just care that they are alive?
If anyone would like to have an honest dialogue, I’m open to it. If you just want to call me names, you don’t need to waste your time.

BTW, hang around the blog enough and you’ll meet some pro-choicers who are most *definitely* pro-abortion, and aren’t afraid to say so.
I am not against a woman making decisions about her own life and health, but I am against the oppression (killing) of her unborn child. Who has more to lose, the child (who loses her life) or her mother?
All these “unwanted” children? You mean those 1.5 million waiting to adopt wouldn’t adopt any of the 2 million babies aborted every year? Who is to determine their quality of life? And who are you to imply that perhaps they’d be better off dead? Isn’t it interesting how the living choose to impose their views (to the point of death) on these who have never even had the chance to voice their thoughts on the matter?
If you want to have an honest dialogue, it’s probably a good idea to come here with some new material (we’ve heard it all before), or at least do away with your straw men.
Does PP refer for adoptions? Do they give away free maternity clothes? Do free ultrasounds? Give away free, cribs, pack n plays, diapers and formula? Help women after the baby is born?

There is no common ground when innocent unborn children are killed in their mother’s wombs.
some people act as if Pregnany is some sort of disease that needs to be prevented and that abortion is a vaccine. IT IS NOT! Abortion is NEVER EVER necessary. Women need love and help during a crisis pregnancy, not society telling them its not possible to raise a child and finish college or that they would make a bad mother.
And yes, evidence IS destroyed. When a woman becomes pregnant after rape or incest (which is rare!) and an abortion is performed, evidence is destroyed that could convict the rapist. Planned parenthood covers up for abusers by not reporting abuse to the police. why? Because they would more than likely lose $ for the abortion sale if the woman received counseling and the help she REALLY needs.

It really boils down to one simple question:
Is it acceptable to abort/terminate/kill an unborn human being for whatever reason?
Why would you not get involved in an abortion even though you support people who perform them? Why are abortions so unpleasant? I feel that you sense something wrong in that procedure or else why would you say those things.
I apologize to everyone in advance for the next question, a morbid and terrible question but one that I have to make since it is consistent with your logic Let’s talk, not mine.
As for the abandoned babies “born addicted to crack”, answer this:
Would you consider going into an orphanage and put a bullet to their heads?
OF COURSE NOT! It’s a terrible, horrible, cruel, inhuman, awful, despicable thing to do, to kill an innocent child! But it is no different from an abortion. In both scenarios a human being dies, the only difference is the age of the victim.
I just feel sad asking that but I sense that you are in favor of “mercy killings” but you would not like to soil your hands with that blood.
So tell me, why you rather have other people stain their hands, their minds, their lives and their souls, but not you. Why not, since you find it somehow “necessary”?
What is worse: to give birth to an unwanted child or to kill it? There is no middle ground in that.

Just to clarify, there is no such thing as an unwanted child.
There are evil regimes like China that have diabolically and systematically killed well over 300 million children, pre-born and just-born, in the past 30 years. (It doesn’t matter that much to them if the suffering, dying children languish in a trash can for a few hours before actually dying.)
China didn’t want those children.
There are many fathers that have no intention to provide for or protect their children. They just want to satisfy the lust of their flesh and escape any responsibility to care for their children. In fact, many will gladly pay to have someone kill their children so they will never have to love them.
These fathers despise their children, and are criminally derelict in their responsibilities as men.
There are many mothers who might like to fulfill their roles as moms, but have irresponsible boyfriends or husbands, or are embarrassed that they they had sex when they shouldn’t have, or that justify killing their older children because they don’t make enough money yet, or that justify killing their younger children because they want to “better care for” their older children.
satan has many schemes, many devices, many lies that his demons will whisper into the ears of fathers and mothers to entice them into killing their children.
But God loves every child.
He wants them.
He receives them back into Heaven.
And when fathers and mothers reject and kill the children He sends them, they provide evidence of the wickedness bound in their own hearts.

Yes, though it doesn’t exactly work that way. There are specific lists of parents looking to adopt just such a child, but it’s not like they just move up the list until it’s their “turn.” For the most part, the birth mothers/adoption agencies try to match the child with the best family from the list.

Yes, tons of reasons. Many children in foster care were born to parents who initially wanted them, and have not terminated their parental rights. Thus, a child can be in legal limbo for years where they can not go home to a birth parent, but also can not be adopted. 3 of my white cousins were in just such a situation due to their mother’s mental illness. Even though she was in a mental institution in another state, she still retained some parental rights and even her own sister couldn’t adopt her children. It took literally YEARS for them to be allowed to leave their home state to go live with that sister.

There have been many women who report saying “stop” in the middle of an abortion only to be held down and forced to continue. Aside from this, PP has been caught lying about fetal development and using cooersive techniques to push women into abortion.

Planned Parenthood is constantly bemouning the fact that crisis pregnancy centers don’t offer “comprhensive women’s healthcare.” The implication, of course, is that Planned Parenthood DOES offer “comprehensive women’s healthcare.” The problem is that they simply don’t. When I was pregnant with my first child I was in a state away from home and didn’t have even a PCP. I was raised to think that PP= the place for all things women/reproduction. I called PP and they informed me that they offered ZERO prenatal care, but they could give me an abortion. When I explained that I didn’t want an abortion, I got a hard sell. I think the woman on the other end literally told me 8 times that I could have an abortion at her clinic, and was I sure I didn’t want an abortion.
The fact that PP pretends to be something it’s not is one of the most frustrating things about it because it hides the true nature of the beast.

PP coerces women to abort by not talking about fetal development. I was told it was just a bunch of cells. I was shown a filmstrip of a bunch of red circles. I had no ultrasound. I was 10 weeks along when I had my abortion. I was flat out lied to by omission!! Think that is a rare? Think again.
Google the fetal development of a baby that is 10 weeks. Do you not see the tiny fingers, hands, arms, legs, head, face, body??
