Quote of the Day 9-4-10
The Center for Reproductive Rights recently released its summary on the “major trends in anti-abortion legislation that emerged this year and of the onerous abortion restrictions enacted,” according to a statement from the organization. “A First Look Back at the 2010 State Legislative Session,” details alarming trends among the states to severely restrict access to legal abortion care.
~ RH Reality Check’s Amie Newman, in a September 3 post entitled, “Report: States pass staggering array of anti-choice laws, policies and ballot measures.”

Yeah, letting those pesky parents know that their young daughters are about to kill their grandchildren is just so onerous! What’s really alarming is the fact that our teens can’t get their ears pierced or go on local field trips without our permission, but they can have abortions. How screwed up is that?
Yes Ken! Ear piercing and tattoos are exactly what I think about whenever people are against parental notification laws! I mean really!
Also, go state legislatures! Keep up the good work! :)
Same here, Amanda. I mean, seriously, if we don’t trust a 14 year old’s judgement when it comes to ear piercing, why in the world would we trust it when it comes to abortion?
I don’t understand why pro-aborts are so against regulations. Everything else is regulated. If it’s a serious issue, then there SHOULD be regulations. You would think that women’s health, both mental and physical, would be their priority. But it’s not. Their priority is unlimited, unquestioned access to abortions. That’s all. The school nurse can’t administer Tylenol at school if your child is sick. But pro-aborts think parental notification laws are “onerous.” Oooookay. If a woman wants to get a nose job, she has to go through a LOT of red tape. But abortion? No big deal. No questions asked. They don’t want regulations, because regulations will just illuminate how unnecessary and grotesque this procedure is.
There are so many news stories, lawsuits, and proof that abortion harms women, it is still unbelievable how many pro-choice advocates do not really care about women and their overall total health.
The term “reproductive rights” is misleading too. It’s really the right to kill what you’ve already reproduced. When a woman has an abortion, she is already a mother. It’s really “destructive” rights. We don’t have the right to destroy what is already alive. That isn’t a right. That isn’t reproduction. Not to mention how abortion can really hurt women’s reproductive systems (let alone their psyches).

Bingo, MaryLee. Exactly right.
