Quote of the Day 11-3-10
If any of us were referred to a hospital today for a minor procedure, an ingrowing toenail operation, the procedure would be explained to us in detail.
We would be aware of the level of pain we would experience, we would be told exactly what would happen while we were under the anaesthetic, we would be given follow-up appointments.
A woman who has an abortion has none of that – she is discharged at the end of the day out onto the street and left to come to terms with the roller coaster emotional journey she will still be in the midst of.
~Nadine Dorries, Tory MP from Mid Bedfordshire in the UK, calling for pre-abortion counseling, as quoted by Google News, November 2

Exactly. What other procedure leaves one with zero knowledge of what is going to happen, how much pain might be experienced and just how the child dies?
My preabortion counseling session ended with, “Will that be Visa or Mastercard today?”
Discharged at the end of the day? Try after 40 minutes.
This is what I don’t understand…..I had more explained to me before I had a kidney biopsy. If abortion is such a serious matter, why the obfuscation? What is it that they don’t want women to know? What are they afraid of? Are they afraid women AREN’T going to abort? So what if they don’t? Like that’s a bad thing?
The fact that they rail against regulations, against parental notification laws, they humiliate and demean women who have been hurt by this procedure, they don’t acknowledge that women are still suffering from legal abortions…..It’s just plain as day that abortion is not good, ever, because nothing good can come from the deliberate killing of an innocent person.
MaryLee,
Abortion is big-business. It’s all about the bottom line, so let’s keep the ladies in the dark and watch the dollars roll in behind as they continue to walk through the doors!
And pro-aborts say pro-lifers don’t “trust” women, or we think they can’t make their own decisions. That’s such BS I can’t even get my brain around it. These people LIE to women, continuously, and make money off the blood of women and babies. How can any woman in her right mind support this?
When I was a pro-abort, I was looking at the issue in the abstract. It was slogans, cliches, sound bites, that sort of thing. But the more research I did, and the more I studied and debated, I realized how completely idiotic any pro-abort argument really is. It was a hard truth, to admit that the unborn are persons with their own rights….but that is the only true and just conclusion, period. Abortion is NOT good for women, not in any way. How is defeminizing yourself a feminist gesture? How is killing your baby in the name of “choice” the key to our liberty? It’s so backwards.
It is plain as day that abortion would become a thing of the past if women REALLY knew and understood the risks, the procedure, the fetal development of their child and how their child would die.
That is why Big Abortion fights tooth and nail against any and all prolife legislation that seeks to inform women by ultrasound, 24 hour waiting periods, parental consent, and no coercion bills.
Mary Lee-
Glad you’ve come to the other side, the brighter side!
Carla-
I had the same experience over 16 years ago. No wait time, unless you call the time from when I made the appt. to the time I walked in the door “a 24 hour waiting period”. No counseling, no other options discussed, no ultrasound AT ALL. A couple of over the counter pain killers and a tap on the shoulder.
I will continue to help women and men in their search for truth.
I was given a page to sign that there was risk of infection and perforated uterus. But no one told me what to expect, or how long recovery might be or anything about recovery at all. I believe my post counseling consisted of, “it’s time to leave; we need that chair.”
MaryLee,
“How is defeminizing yourself a feminist gesture? How is killing your baby in the name of “choice” the key to our liberty? It’s so backwards.”
It’s all very consistent. The feminist leadership who militate for this atrocity hate and fear masculinity, hate and fear femininity, hate and fear children and family. They came of age in an era when women were genuinely treated as inferiors in virtually every profession. Their answer, however, was nothing short of murderous.
They decided that the only way to break the “little woman who belongs at home” syndrome was to disparage the home life and kill the babies who create family within a marriage. It was easier to destroy children and family than to convert misogynists.
God Bless you for seeing the light!
How is defeminizing yourself a feminist gesture? How is killing your baby in the name of “choice” the key to our liberty? It’s so backwards.
You are so right.
SC and Ninek,
Allright sisters. It is time to get busy!! With the country now painted red in so many places please help in passing prolife legislation by filling out your declaration at
http://www.operationoutcry.org
Fill it out online by explaining how abortion has hurt you. The declarations are filed as friend of the court briefs in prolife legislation! Make your voice heard! My declaration was filed and helped to uphold the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act.
If you need any help or would like to talk further you can find me here
carla@jillstanek.com
or here at Jill’s. :)
ps I am the WI Leader for Operation Outcry. :) My state is RED!!
Will do, Carla!
My state is RED!!
We’ll all keep the ball rolling until abortion is illegal. In our lifetimes!!!
“I was given a page to sign that there was risk of infection and perforated uterus.”
All in the name of almighty abortion? Yikes. Serious, scary stuff. I thought these guys were better than the so-called “back-alley butchers”. Adoption seems to be a saner way to go.
Boy, so many nails hit on the head, someone must have passed around a nailgun! :)
I’m sick of this faux outrage about “trusting women”. Unless they’re from a Duggar-size family and stick with their mother constantly, most women have no clue about having a baby until they actually have one.
It’s the same thing for any of us in a million different situations: driving a car, flying in a plane, learning to swim, etc., etc.
Yeah the whole “Trust women” slogan is an excuse, Hans.
I don’t even think PP and other clinics who provide abortion necessarily “trust women” because if they did they’d explain the whole thing, talk about exactly what happens and not be repulsed by the idea of showing a woman the ultrasound.
If they want to “trust women” so much, then maybe they should stop being so afraid to show that ultrasound picture.
Oh…wait…they could lose business that way if the woman changes her mind!
Yeah, so much for “trust women”!
