Quote of the Day 12-7-10
… [W]hen I saw the “Here He Comes” ad which showed the baby Jesus waiting inside his mother’s uterus in a 3D sonogram I just burst into happy laughter. I want one to hang on my wall. I want it to be my Christmas card….
And then, some silly people who are obsessed with abortion tried to spoil a good thing.
Pro-life Wisconsin… wanted to interpret these joyous billboards as an anti-abortion message and instead of allowing people to feel the joy and inspiration and holiness that the birth of Jesus symbolizes they wanted us to think about abortion….
I’m hoping that those of us who are pro-choice here in America will allow ourselves to enjoy this modern depiction of the baby Jesus awaiting entry into the world in his mom’s uterus. It’s a great and happy and anticipatory message.
~Frances Kissling, former president of Catholics for Free Choice, Washington Post, December 4

Still can’t get how this woman can call herself a Catholic. She needs our prayers.
Yo, Chic, maybe we’re just obsessed with live babies!
If it were up to pro-aborts, Mary would have aborted.
Sorry guys, much as you’d like, you can’t seperate the twin parts of the Christmas story.
Who of you pro-aborts can say that this child should live and this other should not?
She had me up until “…those of us who are pro-choice..” What???? She can say all that, and STILL say she’s “pro-choice”???? What Ms. Kissling…you mean you DON’T want to think about abortion??? Make up your mind. You can’t have it both ways.
Only baby Jesus is special in the womb. Every other baby is expendable at the mother’s whim, apparently.
That attitude is so sad.
Silly people who are obsessed? Kissling isn’t former president of free choice for chocolate or vanilla! You can’t be Catholic and think Mary should have gone to PP.
Kissling also includes this lovely reminder of how many children she wishes could have been aborted:
“I don’t want to forget or ignore the 10 million children under the age of five who die each year because they were born into poverty and ill health or the 300,000 plus women who die in pregnancy, but I do want to celebrate the millions and millions of births each year that are modern miracles of faith.”
She is a few fries short of a Happy Meal. But who knows? Maybe some day she’ll be bonkers for life. One can only hope.
Would much rather be obsessed with protecting the sanctity of human life, dear Frances, than being obsessed with keeping abortion legal!
This woman has a special ability to twist logic, along with a colossal blind spot. She is amazingly deceived. And she’s not Catholic.
“Catholics For Free Choice” makes as much sense as “Jews for Nazi Death Camps” or “Blacks for Free Klansmen”
In other words, it doesn’t.
She just doesn’t get it. (“It” being the billboard message, and the dignity of ALL babies, rich or poor, sick or healthy, at conception.) SOMEONE, please explain it to her!
I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ would stand in front of her and look her right in the eyes with His – that she might see the truth and live.
I want one to hang on my wall.
I bet she does. It would go nicely with her decor. She could hang it right between her framed pics of Carhart and Sanger.
“Catholics For Free Choice” makes as much sense as “Jews for Nazi Death Camps” or “Blacks for Free Klansmen”
In other words, it doesn’t.
I disagree. Catholics can be for free choice-the choice to be free of the restrictive societal burdens of sexual promiscuity and contraception. Catholics should encourage a choice to keep the baby or put him or her up for adoption.
Sure, they aren’t as flashy of choices, but they’re much more healthy, truth-loving, moral choices.
The group “Catholics for Free Choice” however is deceptive, manipulative, and a pawn in the hands of Lucifer. I’m not saying anything as to the state of being of the individuals involved in such a group, but only that the existence of the group itself is turning people away from God and confusing the message of the Church. It cannot therefore be denied to be Satan’s work.
This woman is a nut case. If this is not a pro life message I don’t know what is. Mary after all was experiencing a most unplanned pregnancy and some could call it crisis.
Mary Rose, sound theology, but it doesn’t hold up in this case. Remember, choice does not mean choice to the pro-death crowd. It means abortion. So perhaps, to be clear, lets take off their disguise. “Catholics for Abortions” makes as much sense as “Jews for Nazi death camps” and “blacks for free klansmen”
Happy?
Ms. Kissling needs a basic education about ultrasound. That’s a 2D image. 3D images show babies’ dimpled chins, chubby cheeks, button noses, smiles and yawns, like this….

Good catch Michelle, I missed that. Pro-aborts aren’t fussy about their facts anyway.
And then, some silly people who are obsessed with abortion tried to spoil a good thing.
That’s true, because actually, it was her side that made this about abortion. Back in June.
What is she so excited about anyway?
… just a “holy clump of cells”… right?
What’s he waiting for? Doesn’t “waiting” denote thinking, isn’t that a brain activity?
Maybe not, I am sure Frances Kissling had a working brain when she wrote this.
Doesn’t mean she thought it through….
What is this? Wizard of Oz?…..Pay no attention to the realities behind her rhetoric.
Don’t think. Just say baaaa.
I’m writing a check out to Pro-Life Wisconsin!
Merry Christmas!
Thanks for posting this, Jill!
She’s not a Catholic. If you deny one or more of the teachings of the Church, you’re not a Catholic. Abortion is murder. If you believe that abortion is not sinful, you are saying something contrary to Church teaching, therefore, you’re not a Catholic.
So “Frances.” Sorry you’re so offended by this depiction of Our Lord in the womb. Why don’t you go join another Church and leave the Catholics with their “anti choice” beliefs? God knows we don’t need foaming at the mouth anti Catholics in the Church. It’s clear we have enough of those.
Thank you.
From: A birth mother, and mother of 6.
Leah, thank you for using the term Frances did not, WOMB rather thatn uterus. Womb recalls a safe, happy place those uterus is correct not quite as cozy.
Correcting, “than”, “though”.
I, too, would love to have this for my Christmas card! That’s pretty much the only thing I agree with her on. She doesn’t even make any sense.
