Lunch Break: Birth Control Girl
To give us a break from the daily grind…
Word on the street that birth control might soon be available with no copays. Planned Parenthood is working to make no copay birth control a reality under the new health care reform legislation with their Birth Control Matters effort.
Email LauraLoo with your Lunch Break suggestions.

they promote no co-pays for man-made hormones, but turn a blind eye toward minors in need. Sounds like PP has their priorities straight! (sarcasm)
American Life League has issued a press release calling upon all corporations which give money to Planned Parenthood to cease doing so. They have included a list of companies you can contact to ask them to do that.
Go to:
http://www.all.org
The article is under “ALL Newsroom”.
Also, Life Decisions International has a list of many major companies that subsidize PP.
To find out which companies you might not want to do business with anymore and to contact them to express your opposition to their giving money to this human being killing organization, go to:
http://www.fightpp.org.
Here’s a list of companies that support PP that I recently added to my blog
http://dontbuytheabortionlie.blogspot.com/2011/01/boycott-these-companies-who-support.html
Interesting that it’s the pill they’re visually promoting. Lila’s 2nd tape last week featured a PP staffer who acknowledged that BC pills are difficult for young people to remember to take correctly. If I didn’t know better, I might think PP were laying the groundwork to upsell an abortion after a pill “whoopsie.”
Thank you Joe, for the reminder, and Jill for the list.
Presumeably making a fool of yourself in a BC pill costume in NYC pays good money? Why else would anyone subject themselves to the attendant ridicule? Knowing PP, it probably pays very well.
To whom it may concern:
I’d like to have no-copays on my prescriptions that happen not to be linked to the sexual act but are still very important and costly to me. I’m looking forward to your response. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Janet
I tried to post a comment but am having some error message popped up. I’ll have to try again later. This is what I wanted to say
Birth control pill is a poison. You gonna be truthful with women about that? I’m not against BC but why are you all so anxious to shove poison that the World Health Organization classified a carcinogen down our throats? I had friend who almost died from clots in her legs caused by BC pill. No one ever warned her about that. Silly her for not reading the teeny tiny fine print in the pill insert.
Maybe I should go downtown dressed as an Ovacue or a NFP chart boasting about the strength of my marriage, the fact I haven’t chemically aborted any of my children and the health of my breasts. I AM IN CHARGE OF MY BODY. I don’t need a pill to control it like some dog with a lampshade collar to prevent it from pulling it’s stitches out.
Dawn-Marie,
That would be quite a sight. :)
I remember using the red, green and white stickers used with the NFP chart. The only other piece of equipment required is a basal thermometer, right?
@Janet,
Yes, just a digital thermometer. The Ovacue is a little cell phone looking device with a spoon like tongue depressor attached to it (and optional vaginal wand if you’re using it to prevent pregnancy). No-copays, one time only fee, natural and healthy. In 8 years of using both I have only 3 children all spaced 2.5 years apart.
“Birth control pill is a poison”
Got any peer reviewed studies to back that up – anything from the CDC? BTW, I took it for 30 years and no problemo. But please, feel free to back up your allegations which are supported by the oldest all male club in the world. Coincidence?
And BTW, the birth control pill is perscribed for those who have ACNE and severe periods ( the reason why I started taking it) – so you’d deny co-payments for a therapeutic drug? Oh, right, those slutty women with pimples might take advantage of it.
World health organization disagrees with you dear CC. They classified it as a carcinogen. My friend almost died from taking it. Glad you took it for 30 years with no ill effects… that we know of.
CC, you’re an utter fool. The pill allows men to sterilize women and use us as meat for their sexual gratification. It allows men to have sex with us with “no responsibility” and then abortion allows them to drop us off at clinics and walk away from us in an instant.
@ CC
The pill is made of synthetic estrogen. Here are some links about that including the CDC link you asked for…
http://www.cdc.gov/cancer/breast/basic_info/risk_factors.htm
http://www.womensenews.org/story/medicine/021223/feds-label-estrogen-known-carcinogen
http://envirocancer.cornell.edu/research/endocrine/videos/summary.cfm
I also have a dead godmother who died of breast cancer when her doctors prescribed the pill for it’s estrogen after a hysterectomy.
For everything the pill is prescribed for there is a better alternative. Teenagers are drawn to it for the acne problems and so called ‘lighter periods’. Doctors get a commission every time they get a girl on the pill and a percentage for every year they stay on the pill. My OB lost $30,000 a year when he stopped prescribing the pill.
abstinence: no side effects, no heart break……sounds good to me!
the pill: Level ONE Carcinogen. Blood Clots (especially if the woman smokes) long term use can cause fertility issues AFTER getting off of it…..breast cancer risk as well
hmm, I think we should stop pushing the pill and use abstinence. And yes, there is an abstinence talk that’s given by Jason Evert and his wife, that’s appropriate for Public schools (no bible or mention of God)
With advertising like that, PP is definitely trying to appeal to the infantile mentality. Makes sense, as real adults don’t mess around with that contraception junk.
But please, feel free to back up your allegations which are supported by the oldest all male club in the world. Coincidence?
Bingo! CC we just hit the $10 mark.
Thank you Dawn-Marie for the resources these are great. As usual CC doesn’t know what she is talking about but the pro-abort and contraceptive mentality is so blinding that she really doesn’t care how many resources you give. It’s ok, I can use these resources when I give presentations to those who are teachable and have commonsense. Anyone with commonsense would read the inserts that come with these drugs and connect the dots regarding the risk of taking artificial hormones. Anything powerful enough to stop you from ovulating (a normal female body function), preventing the endometrial lining from developing normally, that changes your entire normal reproductive cycle, that changes the entire chemistry of your body, that is capable of causing strokes, blood clots, pulmonary embolisms, heart attacks, breast cancer, uterine cancer, bone demineralization and multiple other side-effects along with having multiple contraindications is not SAFE, it is potentially deadly. But as pro-aborts would say “over my dead body” will I give up contracepting and aborting which really means; “I would rather better be dead, than be a mother” and ”I would rather take the life of my baby than make the sacrifice to be a mother”. Sounds pretty sick to me.
