Lunch Break GOOD FRIDAY: “Watch the Lamb”
Ray Boltz sings “Watch the Lamb,” to commemorate the saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
Also attached is a link that gives insightful detail into the medical account of the crucifixion.
I stand in awe of Jesus who did the Father’s will to save ungodly sinners from eternal punishment – for those who believe in His free gift of salvation.

Thank you Lord for loving me enough to die so that I might have life.
My youth group did this song as an Easter pagent one year, all actors silent while one of the older boys sang it (beautifully). It’s still one of the more touching songs I’ve ever heard.
What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound?
***By no means!***
How can we who died to sin still live in it?
Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in ***newness of life.***
…We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, ***so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.***
For one who has died has been set free from sin.
…So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
***Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions.***
Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as ***instruments for righteousness.***
For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
A couple of thoughts for openly homosexual Ray Boltz (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/15/us/15religion.html) and his fan club here…
What was the very first message that Jesus preached? Was it simply to believe on His name? Or does it require something more to become His disciple? Check Matthew 4:17 (http://bible.cc/matthew/4-17.htm) for the answer.
Was it a-okay for Ray to divorce his wife of 30 yrs? Check Malachi 2:16 (http://bible.cc/malachi/2-16.htm). Or I Corinthians 7:10-11 (http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/search/?q=I+Cor+7%3A10-11).
When we sin, how does Jesus heal? Check James 5:16 (http://bible.cc/james/5-16.htm).
Are you beginning to see a problem with this post?
Hi Sonja, I didn’t know Ray was gay. I became acquainted with his song years ago and felt it was very appropriate for a Good Friday post. In fact, I have another Ray post coming in the near future. LL
It is curious to me, LL, that you have posted two overtly pro-homosexual pieces within just a few days, and that knowing that Ray Boltz is unrepentant, out and open homosexual (if you didn’t know before), you still plan to post about him again?
Is Ray Boltz suddenly vital to anti-abortion activism?
Is this a pro-life website or a pro-death website?
What is your sub-text?
I absolutely treasure Ray Boltz’s music. It made a huge impact in my life growing up. I also pray for Ray Boltz often. “Watch the Lamb” is one of the best Easter songs ever written, bar none. While Ray wrote it (and his other songs), he was no doubt under the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
I grow very tired of people who claim that because Sandi Patty or Amy Grant were divorced or that Ray Boltz has now chosen to live as a homosexual, that somehow the message of their past music is negated.
Because of his recent choices in life, does that negate everything he ever did that brought glory to God or helped others? In my opinion, no.
Kel, I did not assault “everything he ever did.” I questioned why LL placed two pro-homosexual posts on a pro-life blog within a period of days. It sends a terribly confusing message, especially in the age of No Hell Rob Bell.
According to the Bible, the spiritual state of those who choose sexual sin over fidelity to their mates and to Jesus Christ is clear, and people involved in the pro-life fight ought to know it well:
“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. ” — I Cor 6
“For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.” — Heb 10
“For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved. For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. What the true proverb says has happened to them: ‘The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.'” — II Pet 2
How can I listen to such music without sorrow and fear in my heart?
You see, it doesn’t matter what I think or what you think about their delightful personality and musical talents; God demands that we glorify Him with our bodies, not just our lips.
Sonja, I agree with what you’ve said. i am not pro-homosexuality.
I do listen to Ray Boltz’s music sorrowfully at times now because I know he is not walking with the Lord anymore. And it motivates me to remember him in prayer.
But I don’t believe the “Watch the Lamb” post was in any way a “pro-homosexual” post. It was simply the posting of an Easter song that many of us remember and love – written by a man who now needs our prayers.
