If it wasn’t for Evan Longoria hearing that power ball come their way, this news reporter could have been seriously hurt. Also amazing is how she kept her professionalism by not even flinching one bit.
However, at the video site there are those who say this was a stunt.

Wow. I can’t imagine that was a stunt. It was too dangerous, too risky to be a stunt IMO.

It’s a CG ball. You can tell because of the lack of motion blur at certain stages while it is in flight, but the rest of movement in the video has blurred edges. Sorry to blow the tricks of the trade.
Physics tells the tale independently of any consideration of the ball as CGI. His arm did not move in reaction to the catch — not even slightly. That’s not just a physics issue per se: no amount of isometric muscular control could possible react and change the balance of forces in the arm quickly enough to make a catch of a fast ball with no reactive motion of the arm.
The clip is a great testament to how sound, especially, can be compelling in making something like this seem real. Good editing all around.
