In tears. How much fun is THAT!?
i cant access this video and its probably for the best. that was a stupid thing to do. i hope she said “no””
Wow! That’s awesome!!!! Loved it!
My dearest proposed to me when we were on our first trip to the US (we live in the UK, but he’s american) when we went to meet his parents. On a sightseeing day in NYC he found a quiet spot at the top of the Empire State Building and got on one knee…. It was freezing cold (February), but I don’t think either of us noticed it…
I guess getting down on one knee on her father’s porch just doesn’t cut it anymore! :)
But with an audience, the guy better be darned sure about the answer!
I’m Aussie and my hubby is from the US, and We met and were married in the US. His proposal was a complete surprise. We went on a date to the St Louis Zoo, and he waited until we were in front of the kangaroo and emu enclosure. I was so busy looking at the animals and thinking about home that I didn’t notice him get down on one knee at first. He said his thought process was that if I felt like I was in Australia, I would be more likely to say yes.
Now he’s a dual Aussie/US citizen, and we work together, sharing truth-in-love help with Aussie women and babies every day while raising our own four precious kiddos. There are kangaroos living in a bush reserve 200m from our house, though I don’t go see them very often. I didn’t need the distraction to be convinced to marry my best friend, but his creativity still makes me smile.
Michelle, what a sweet story! :)
My own hubby proposed in a field in Virginia (where he’s from) on New Year’s Day. We took a dirt bike ride into a field around sunset and we took a break from riding. He stood there holding me, reminiscing about how we met (on debate team in college), and said how we’d make great partners for life, at which point he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I wouldn’t say no to my dearest friend. :) He picked the ring out himself and it was perfect.
I hope that girl was okay with the public proposal. If that’s their thing, then I think it’s awesome!
