Pro-life video of the day: Imus hosts abortion panel
by Hans Johnson
At kitchen tables across the country, opinions run the gamut when the issue of abortion is mentioned, as it was here on the Fox Business Channel’s Imus in the Morning.
On the pro-choice left is former comedian and current radio talk show host Alan Colmes. Imus show producer Bernard McGuirk and host Don Imus represent the “pro-life with exceptions” position. Unequivocallly pro-life are Imus’ wife Diedre and Fox News Religion contributor Father Jonathan Morris:

It’s the same old stale arguments over and over from the pro-abort crowd.
Are you willing to put these women who have abortions in jail? Easy answer is that they get mandatory counseling similar to what is given to suicidal people and the abortionist gets jail time.
With today’s science they can no longer deny the humanity of the unborn. Once pro-choice people are willing to think about this from a rational and scientific perspective they would have to admit the humanity of the unborn. Then pro-abort hearts like those of ‘philanthropists’ like Ashley Judd will be turned. Then the laws will change. Then there will be peace and safety again in the mother’s womb.
Only with the in-laws! My original sibling family is unanimously prolife, no exceptions. But our kitchen table is still a screaming, fist-pounding, turkey-leg-throwing soccer riot on other important topics!
I agree with TS…just heard on the news Howard Stern is coming back with a TV show….go away already. oh yeah and to all of the moon bats who were upset about my pot shot at Ashley Judd….arent you some of the same women who laugh right along with Howard and Chelsea Handler when they pick on women? Howard and his Ewww take your top off…let me see your butt…libs always get those free passes dont they? And they always find a willing woman to go along with it!! Robin just laughs right along with the men.
Howard is pro abortion…isnt that breaking news????
Ive seen Chelsea out and out call women ugly and stupid…but she has a pretty big female fan base.
Haha, Jamie … I can only talk about the weather with my in-laws without compromising my health.
Lifejoy,
It was the same way with my former in-laws. Until I told the grandmother who doted over her first and only grandchild-my daughter-that her father had wanted me to kill her with abortion because he had been raised “pro-choice”, and the only reason she was alive today is because I was “pro-life”. That halted the dialogue pretty quickly.
XD
My family, both sides, is pro-life. Just don’t talk about religion. My immediate (and my side) of the family are Catholic, my husband used to be non-denom and the rest of his family is something. Probably more closer to agnostic than anything.
I remember when I met my husband. I told him I had very strong and absolute ideas about abortion. Maybe because I was in my mid/late 20s, had a couple degrees, and was outspoken and assertive, he automatically assumed I was pro-abortion.
Needless to say, we were both delighted to discover that our desire for justice for all human beings led us to similar pro-life convictions! When I met him, he also went to church every Sunday, called his parents every week, and loved football. It was pretty obvious he was a keeper!
When do I get to be on an abortion panel??
I’ve got something to say!!! :)
WOW!!! Carla that would be great I would love to see you on an abortion panel.
Does anyone beside me think Alan Colmes is an idiot. The science of ultrasound has already proved the babies are alive in the womb. He makes me want to puke, no restrictions on any abortion for any reason at any point like his idol BHO. “It’s between a woman, her doctor and her God to decide” no matter the reason or gestation it’s all fine with him. How barberic can you be? Slavery was between the slave owners, the slave traders and their “god” as well. Many southern churches taught that slaves were destined by God to be less than human chattel and were meant to be the “property” of white people because they were “inferior”, they even taught that they were doing slaves a “favor” because their lives (quality of life is the phrase pro-aborts use today) would be so difficult without slavery, so slavery was to “save them”. Why does the reasoning sound so familiar? Because it is the same stupid logic.
Prolifer l cound me in i don’t do alan colmes!
Oops meant count me in
Towards the end of the clip, Umus says to Diedre, “No woman, Diedre, in the seventh or eight month of their pregnancy just suddenly decides it doesn’t fit their lifestyle.”
And then he condescendingly tells her, “Try to follow along.”
Woman do decide to have late term abortions for convenience. If they find out the child is handicapped, some women don’t want to be bothered, embarrassed or inconvenienced by a special needs child. Some women are pressured by condescending, abusive family, doctors and friends to abort.
Why was Diedre the only woman on this panel? They needed Carla or someone like her on this panel. If Umus had told me to follow along, I would have told him, “I know sometimes your senility gets the best of you, bud, but try to remember the facts. And the facts are that women do have late-term abortions for life-style reasons.”
Praxedes:
I noticed that too and thought that Don is going to be in very big trouble on the way home from work. Don, I like you for most things but do treat your lovely wife with more respect. And Carla or Jill would be great on the panel!
Can you imagine putting women who have been hurt by abortion on a panel with the PP big wigs?
Women that regret them deeply. Women that could never have another child after abortion made them infertile. Women who got serious infections. Women who did drugs, drank and tried to commit suicide over their abortions.
Walk in our shoes, Cecile. Walk in our shoes.
Oh and to “balance it all out” we would need a few
that proudly exclaim “ABORTION IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE!!”
:)
Ooo! Ooo! That would be a great mother-daughter bonding experience once Maggie’s an adult. We’d love to be on the panel. ^_^
