Pro-life vid of the day: Kanye West debuts photo of baby girl North
by LauraLoo
Kanye West was the special guest on Kris Jenner’s new show (Kris) . He debuted the first photo of his daughter with fiancee Kim Kardashian. Their daughter (North West) is nicknamed Nori.

Not only does Nori look just like Kim, she’s even decked out like Kim in black (for that matter, Kanye too).

Any new baby that comes into this world is a reason for happiness. But beyond that Kim and Kanye are of no interest to me.
“North West”???
I really, desperately want this kid to grow up and write a book or something and call it “North”. Because then it would be “North by North West”.
It’s almost like she’s putting her hand up to say “No, no paparazzi for me!” She is one cute little human.
I really, really hope that if they have a second child, they realize that South would not make a good name.
Hi sweet girl!!
Nori is a doll!!
So they like travel and sushi? Besides that I just fail to see why every time some celebrity has a baby it some how makes news on a website devoted to pro life issues.
MM–
Were you trying to be ironic in your statement “So they like travel and sushi? Besides that I just fail to see why every time some celebrity has a baby it somehow makes news on a website devoted to pro-life issues.”? That’s PRECISELY the reason it shows up on a pro-life website! It’s a new life. It’s not about the celebrity being perfect or imperfect, it’s about welcoming a new human being into the world–a human being that was NOT killed off in abortion, which is a big part of this pro-life website.
If it were just about celebrating new life then there would be an abundance of posts celebrating all the average babies born around the world who weren’t aborted. Posts updating us on a celebrities pregnancy or birth and pretty much no commentary beyond that is little different than what you get from a tabloid. I fail to see why a celebrities pregnancy and birth is somehow unusual or different. I mean seriously is the assumption that normally they would have aborted so we should just be so thrilled they didn’t? Your reasoning is just a real stretch. Because there are loads of “common people” out there with blogs on their pregnancies, even pregnancies with terminal diagnosis where they choose not to abort. But instead we get to hear interspersed with real news and a gazillion blog posts about how Kanye West didn’t abort his baby?? Dang. Sorry I failed to realize the importance. Every baby should be welcomed equally so you know what? Let’s get them ALL on here because this is a Pro Life blog right? I know dozens of pregnant women. Should I send all their info to Jill so she can do a write up on all of them?
MM,
Given how prevalent the abortion mindset is among celebrities babies being born to them IS a huge deal. Yes, it’s a huge deal with non-celebrities. It really and truly is, and NOBODY is saying it’s not with these posts. NOBODY. The thing is, so many celebrities are so into abortion, that it is pretty darned amazing when they take the moment to recognize the miracle of birth, and this is something that should be celebrated. It’s a small win, but it’s still a win.
Nobody on here has said not to celebrate the win of a birth of any non-celebrity, in fact, there have been stories of that on here, too. (And if you have those stories, yes, DO post link, and/or send them to those in charge of posting stories on here).
The fact is, in our culture we’re taught that abortion is the only way a woman can be strong, the fact that a celebrity as big as Kayne West and Kim Kardiashian recognize the beauty and miracle in their baby girl is something worth taking note of. It gives the rest of us non-celebrity people a little bit of hope that maybe–just maybe–there’s hope for a more pro-life celebrating human dignity type culture than the culture of death.
Instead of complaining about the non-celebrities who do this every day–which is freaking AWESOME–perhaps you should recognize this post as a way of saying “Hey it exists in popular culture, there’s hope for pop culture!” And given how much influence pop culture often has on the rest of society, that’s important. (I’m not saying it’s RIGHT pop culture has so much influence, I’m saying it does, and when its influence includes showing the miracle, joy, and love parents can have for their children, that’s a GOOD thing).
This is what pro-choicers want us pro-lifers to do–argue amongst ourselves over how and why we should demonstrate the pro-life message, rather than doing our best to promote the pro-life message.
