Pro-life vid of day: Feminists for Life prez on pro-life feminism

Serrin Foster, president of Feminists For Life, compares and contrasts the pro-life beliefs of the early feminists with the deceit used by the male founders of NARAL to convince women to support and promote abortion.
Feminists for Life holds to the slogan, “Women deserve better than abortion.” And they do. Foster says, no matter the problem, it “solves nothing.”

I could see Patricia Heaton playing Serrin Foster in a movie, they’re both pro-life, have similar coloring, may be about the same age, and I think I’ve heard that they are real life friends. The idea of a movie about a prolife person may not go over well in Hollywood though. (sigh)
I thought feminists and feminism were persona non grata around here?
Pro-abortion feminism isn’t too appreciated, but there are many pro-lifers who are feminists. Alice is a good example, I haven’t seen her much lately though. And I agree with several tenets of feminism but differ enough not to label myself as one.
I consider myself a pro-life feminist. Just think of all the ways abortion negatively affects women…abusive partners coerce women into aborting. Preborn baby girls are aborted because of their gender. Women suffer physical and emotional complications after abortions. Non-white women are talked to about “overpopulation” and discouraged from having children. To me, it’s all sexist. We need to empower women to have happy and healthy pregnancies and lives instead.

Well I’d say I’m pro human equality. There are some parts of feminism I agree with. It’s just that the majority of people who take the feminist label also cling to the pro-abortion label and that is disturbing and sad. Women are people. Abortion kills people. Ergo, it actually makes no logical sense for feminists to support abortion.

Well, and like Padma mentioned, there’s also the fact that a lot of times abortion is used by males to dominate and control women. I see a lot of feminists talk about male partners sabotaging birth control or otherwise impregnating their partners against their will (which is a real and serious issue, abusive men using pregnancy to control their partners), but I see very few tackle the issue of male partners coercing or forcing their partners to abort, or the fact that hook up culture has basically pressured and coerced a lot of young women into sexual situations that leave them with an unwanted pregnancy that they feel like they have to abort while men caper off to the next conquest. They only look at what they see as “empowering” about abortion and seem reluctant to look at the damage it can cause (and that’s even besides the fact of the baby being killed, which is a whole other human rights issue).
But no, I don’t think pro-lifers in general have an issue with pro-life feminism, and I think even pro-choice feminists should look at how abortions can contribute to some males’ domination of their partners.

feminists don’t necessarily represent themselves with the idea that women and children are liberated by feticide. Femi-nazi’s, however, hand an abortion to a woman who’s just been raped and claim that is civilly right. Femi-nazi’s also believe in eugenics feigning pity for the poor baby in the womb that must be put down or else suffer an unjust painful existence. feminists for life make the case that women deserve better than abortion, it’s as she says, maternity became a mandatory shame, instead of the greatest choice and the greatest opportunity women are graced by God with. Feminists for life: silenced no more. Fem-inazi’s = self imposed second status citizenry, i.e.: against chivalry, against babies, for parental rights for men who conceived their child by raping the mother, for men using abortion to shame mistresses and ‘hide’ evidence of pre-born’ love child. femenists for life protect the rape baby, with love, encourage men to protect their families, and man-up to responsibility, and fight for protection for the victims of rape and incest. Femi-nazi’s basically are eugenics margaret sanger oriented, feminists are Susan B. Anthony based.
