Master Sgt. Jacinto Bernardo, an Iraq war veteran, asked his Marine buddy Jeremy Epperson to watch his modest home in Suison, California, while he was stationed in Japan. By the time he retired after 21 years of service, his friend had been doing more than house watching. Epperson raised $70,000 for a renovation, calling the project “Homecoming Heroes”.

Bernardo and his family were greeted at the airport by a stretch limo, and KTRH filmed his reaction:
