Pro-life vid of day: New movie details threats to religious freedom
by Hans Johnson
Former Senator Rick Santorum, once a 2012 presidential candidate, is now CEO of Echolight Studios, which is distributing a new documentary called One Generation Away to churches later this month. It is intended to “wake up the Church” to the many current encroachments on religious and cultural freedom.
Among the participants in the film is Hobby Lobby President Steve Green, who says: “Life begins at conception. Never in our 237 years as a republic has any government decree made us fund the taking of innocent human life as a condition of continuing business.”
The documentary’s title comes from a famous quote made by President Ronald Reagan. Here is the trailer for the film:

I like watching the Hobby Lobby Hero Narrative take place as a sort of legendary story line that has yet to evolve into an epic final battle of justice overcoming bigotry and the adversity of it gives me hope, nonetheless. Here you have this great white whale, that is this huge chain store, serving, not alcohol or food, or hardware, not even specializing in imports, the way main stores in America are now-but in handmade goods made for Americans who like to simply glue things together, and then paint and decorate, the simplest distraction from daily grind, is now on the rocks, just because they CHOOSE to stand for the good and simple America. This is Apple Pie, standing up for Baseball, these simple things, that can be corrupted in a country where the Christian religion, the basis for the rules of charity that have main stayed civilization for the past 2000 years, are not beloved by our countrymen any longer. Because the reason for loving the simple is gone: Babies. We don’t get babies, then it’s like our hearts are too broken to fight for anything else. The legality of feticide left us too broken hearted to fight for anything else, or too numb, or too ignorant or intolerant to care. The saints prided themselves in their simplicity because, since there was only one truth, it meant that the more simple you could be, the more truth was working for you. And in that was God. It’s like their are two camps of civilization now-the sophisticated trust, and the simple trust. As the waters rise and sands fall from beneath our feet, where will we run for shelter? To what arc? In reading holylove.org, it seams more and more that the story of Hobby Lobby and the others who are dying to the cross, becomes more and more legendary, more classic, more American. I would really be curious to see a Rand Paul go up against a Hillary, or a Wasserman. It will be hard to watch the good guy fall and see the bad guys rejoicing in the short lived victory given to the builders of sandcastles. But it will be righteous to be given the opportunity to live up to the standards that God has beholden for us sons and daughters of men in His name. That, I think, to see the richness of a story, that is perhaps the greatest story in itself to ever be told, because the greatest war ever won-the fight for life-is such because you can’t win it by killing, or fighting. It has to be a war fought by saints, over the evil in the places of power in this world. The spiritual refinement, the heroes of this fairy tale, are going to have to be some of the gentlest and most forgiving and wise. The content of character–just something that has never really been seen before in the amount of folks we must see it in for this thing to be won. I wonder what that will culminate in for this sacrifice to be made a worthy offering for the conquering of such an evil that is of the day. It is nice to see Hobby Lobby coming out as one of the giants in this fight, as well as the many other institutions which are not going to watch this show sitting down.. because they know and care that the best seat for a fight like this is in the ring, because if you go down, you don’t just go down swinging, you go down in history.. and that is a fact. Jack. The heroes and villains of the culture of life are raising their hands to be counted! Do not ask for whom the bell tolls… it tolls for thee.
Read Galatians 5:16-26
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you would. But if you are led by the Spirit you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are plain: immorality, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension, party spirit, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us have no self-conceit, no provoking of one another, no envy of one another.
Read Genesis 19:24-25
Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven; and he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.
