Pro-life vid of day: The cognitive dissonance of abortionists
by Hans Johnson
Debating abortion can be very frustrating. Pro-choice supporters can’t seem to see the forest for the trees. It’s almost understandable for older males who haven’t been around babies for many decades, but much less so for those who have. But pro-abortion beliefs in doctors who work hands-on with the youngest humans is inexplicable.
Going one step beyond is Dr. Lisa Harris (pictured right) who confessed a few years ago to feeling her baby move in her womb as she dismembered another in an abortion. She admitted to a little “sadness” but, as LifeNews reported this week, this event did not make her waver one iota from her pro-abortion views.
In this 2011 Life Talk discussion, Mark Crutcher and the panel wonder if this extreme case of cognitive dissonance borders on a form of psychosis:

Ugh! I looked up this “doctor” and ended up on RH Reality Check – imagine that. From there I got into Angry Black Lady Chronicles also under RH Reality. The photo the baby on her logo is degrading and appalling imho.

Cognitive dissonance indeed.
No cognitive dissonance. Her view of what women want and need isn’t clouded.
Ignoring the plight of women in favor of something of an unknown quantity, now that’s cognitive dissonance.
Hello, everyone – it doesn’t make sense to explain these crazy things with the mental illness explanation.
These people are cult members. Their world-view thought structure is comprehensive, but illogical. It is very easy to poke holes in almost any defense of abortion given.
However, the cult members have all received marching instructions: how to deflect and dodge the handful of logical counters to their claim that abortion is just fine.
The appeal of the cult is that each member gets to have a save-the-world Jesus complex, and a feeling of moral superiority. This is why commenters like Reality will not engage in a genuine discussion, and at the same time sound so pompous, superior, and confident.
Hello, everyone – we now have a new euphemism for a human being who is not yet born: “something of an unknown quantity.”
“it doesn’t make sense to explain these crazy things with the mental illness explanation” – hm, interesting statement.
Did you want to have a discussion about what constitutes a cult?
“It is very easy to poke holes in almost any defense of abortion given” – or so you like to think. But it isn’t.
“The appeal of the cult is that each member gets to have a save-the-world Jesus complex, and a feeling of moral superiority” – ahem, yes that discussion about what constitutes a cult may well be worthwhile.
“This is why commenters like Reality will not engage in a genuine discussion” – I do when something genuine is said rather than ad hominems and strawmen.
“and at the same time sound so pompous, superior, and confident” – are you developing a complex?
“Euphemism’? – Are you able to provide a detailed description of every aspect of any nominated fetus after it has completed gestation and birth?
Seriously, TLD, don’t feed the troll.
“Who? I don’t see anyone” – “Seriously, TLD, don’t feed the troll.” – seriously dear, you’ll need to make up your mind. Which way is it?
I don’t have discussions with Reality. He or she was asked directly by me when life begins, and he or she gave a du mb-azz answer.
He or she asked for studies noting the abortion breast cancer connection, and I posted about a dozen. Again, this line of discussion was derailed to nonsense.
Interactions including Reality here illustrate how the cult members dodge questions right when the questions hit home and the implications are otherwise unescapable.
“I don’t have discussions with Reality.”
Yay!!! I’ve been clean myself for sometime as well!
“He or she was asked directly by me when life begins, and he or she gave a du mb-azz answer” – no, it was an accurate answer. Not my fault if it was beyond your ken.
Yes, you did post a few studies. They either proved absolutely nothing, or did not support your claim.
You haven’t yet asked any questions which ‘hit home’. You tend to come out with some wild pre-suppositions.
“Yay!!! I’ve been clean myself for sometime as well!”
Congratuations!
Unfortunately your choice to withdraw from engagement doesn’t appear to have delivered any noticeable reduction in the amount of misrepresentations, misinformation etc. served up by others here that I need to remedy. I guess there are always others willing to step up to the plate :-)
Thanks JDC!
Once I got through the first couple days, it was easy as pie!
If WE stick together and all ignore IT maybe IT will go away!
Its getting tired cuz idk about you guys so I dont read the posts. But careful it came back posting and attention seeking under Tenn and Tenn2…so ignore those
What is it about you that forces you to want to repeat your mistakes heather? Is there a title for it?
Prax n JDC I hope you guys are having a great night.
“Prax n JDC I hope you guys are having a great night.”
