Pro-life vid of day: OneRepublic video affirms life for the disabled
At Live Action News, Nancy Flanders speaks about her personal experience of having a child with Cystic Fibrosis:
I wasn’t sure life would ever be normal again. That was almost 6 years ago. And while life is different, it is definitely normal….
Unfortunately, in the last few years, I’ve learned that… [d]espite amazing medical advancements that are allowing people with CF to live healthier and longer lives, many doctors tell parents that their child will live a life of constant illness and frequent hospitalizations. They tell parents that their child will suffer on a daily basis. And that misinformation leads to the abortion of up to 90% of unborn children diagnosed with CF.
Thankfully, word is spreading that life with CF is improving. And the band OneRepublic [pictured] is helping to get that message across to the world with their new video for their song, I Lived….
[The video] illustrates beautifully that life is to be lived, no matter what circumstances surround us. It doesn’t matter if you have CF or Down syndrome or any other condition. Life is meant to be lived to the best of your abilities. As the lyrics say:
The only way you can know is give it all you have. And I hope that you don’t suffer, but take the pain. Hope when the moment comes, you’ll say… I, I did it all. I, I did it all. I owned every second that this world could give. I saw so many places, the things that I did. Yeah, with every broken bone, I swear I lived.

Excellent!
The late Dr. Viktor Frankl, holocaust survivor and renowned psychotherapist, often in his lectures told the story of Jerry Long, whose arms and legs were paralyzed in a car accident. Long wrote a letter to Dr. Frankl saying he felt his own suffering was less than Dr. Frankl’s and that the doctor’s book “Man’s Search for Meaning” had inspired him because he knew Dr. Frankl lived what he taught. When Jerry and Dr. Frankl had a chance to meet, Jerry told Dr. Frankl, “My accident broke my back, but it didn’t break me.”
One of the things about the pro choice movement that always tries to use to get to the pro life movement and to desperate moms who see no way out except through abortion is, “You can’t do this, you can’t do that.” How do they know?
Say “yes ” to life. And run with it.

Awesome!
I love this! Have you heard of Nick Vujicic, born with no limbs? Or Rick Smith, known online as “Noah’s Dad”, whose first child surprised him by being born with Down Syndrome? Stories like these serve to show the world, in a wonderfully public way, that life is never as hopeless as a diagnosis may seem, and that no matter what the difficult circumstances life is _always_ worth living!
