Pro-life vid of day: Viewers react to images of abortion victims
Saynsumthn’s Blog recently featured a post showing the varied reactions to one of Created Equal’s JumboTron campaigns, noting that while the pro-life movement continues to debate whether or not to show images of abortion victims in public venues, the pro-choice movement admits the images are succeeding in changing minds about abortion:
A group put together by Chasing New Jersey, a news broadcast which airs on Fox29 Philly, reveals the impact that showing graphic abortion images has on those never exposed to the truth of what killing babies in the womb looks like.
In the film, young people watch a video of an abortion shown publicly on a jumbotron by the pro-life group, Created Equal, recently in Philadelphia at the Liberty Bell Mall….
The over-all effect of what Created Equal did by showing these abortion images can be summarized by this viewer who said, “Regardless of how you feel on the issue, if their goal was to get you to invoke these emotions, then these visual images for the word abortion – then they did a great job. I’m never going to forget that for the rest of my life.”

If we had what the pro-borts say they want, no one would be shocked at these images.
If we had “comprehensive sex education,” then middle schoolers would be taught about fetal development, shown images of healthy children in the womb — and images of aborted children of the same age. It is difficult but vitally important knowledge they need for navigating our modern world… much like we have to inform our children well about pederasts and sexual predators.
If abortion were a “normal and common procedure,” then we ought to know what it normally and commonly looks like. Just as we know what childbirth normally and commonly looks like.
If women were fully informed before they ever have to consider an abortion, we would not have to enact laws requiring abortionists to educate women while in the middle of their high-pressure sales pitch.
It is a sadness that we have to provide this education in public, because of an agenda that fails to educate in more suitable times and settings.
If this video changed just ONE heart and mind about how wrong abortion is, it was worth it 100 %.
This is why graphic abortion pics work. Keep showing them.
What’s really interesting is that in spite of how effective these videos are in provoking a strong emotional response, very few people are moved to act to correct the injustice.
What does it take to get more people involved?
As weird as it may be for people, I have seen a lot of pictures of aborted fetuses by multiple people and found myself not shocked or upset. They do not provoke a strong emotional response for me. Does this mean I am heartless or am a terrible person? No. Sorry but emotionally driven propaganda just doesn’t work for me or other rational minded folk. Leave people with the choice, I’d rather abortion be legal than not (even if I do not ever choose this route for myself).
Has anyone ever followed through? Wonder what happened to the people who saw it. Maybe someone who was already suffering because of abortion, did it send her into despair or make them suicidal, or a little kid that is now having nightmares.
I think they should be used for sure but not in a public square where kids can see the image of “broken babies” in their heads forever, or someone who has had an abortion is sent into despair.
They can be doing more damage than good when shown in this way. Children have a right to be protected from stuff like this, they are innocent and just as valuable in Gods eyes as the ones who are being aborted.
I think this is a wonderful idea. I already posted on another article that my class went on a trip to Independence Mall just a few days before the display went up, and I would have loved to see a Pro-Life display there while we were learning about “liberty and justice for all”- especially since the exhibits we saw at the National Constitution Center had all this crap about “abortion rights” thrown in there.
Images are powerful. That’s why I’m Pro-Life. I’ll never forget the day I saw those images for the first time. My science teacher had assigned us a project on pregnancy, and it was my job to print out photos of fetuses to put on our posterboard. While searching up “third trimester fetal development”, I accidentally clicked on “third trimester abortion”.
Something in me changed when I saw those pictures. Before, I can’t say I really thought much about abortion one way or the other. But when I saw those pictures, I knew I had to do something to stop this murder, especially once I realized my older sister’s life had been ended that way. I went through 4/5ish months of being very depressed about abortion, following some issues with my best friend and an increased knowledge of what happened to my mother. (Looking back, I think it was probably more of a self-worth issue, but my sentiments were correct nontheless.)
More people should see these images. I hope they won’t be subjected to the horror I went through, but maybe horror is what we need. Images can change hearts and minds, and turn an ignorant mind into an enlightened one. Maybe if the whole world could see what I saw that day, maybe, just maybe, there’d be more people willing to take a stand for life.
Sincerely,
?Pro-Life now, Pro-Life forever?
I really think people need to see the pictures. Children need to see the pictures. They cannot just be explained away. My children saw the pictures and I explained it to them directly. Of course they were horrified, but that is the normal healthy reaction to violence and murder. Of course there are always some who are fine with violence and murder, but they are not normal.
